Fantastic Hotel! From the moment we walked in and were welcomed by Rita T. until the time we checked out, the entire staff was friendly. Stayed here in January but since the experience was so great, I felt compelled to ensure I wrote a review. Location is convenient and quiet. Rooms and bathrooms very clean. Breakfast is delicious. Absolutely fantastic experience! When we come back to Porto, this is where we'll stay! Thank you Rita T. for the amazing hospitality!

I had a wonderful experience at the hotel restaurant thanks to Eduardo's service. From the very beginning, he was very friendly, attentive, and professional. He made sure everything was perfect during the meal, recommended delicious options, and always had a smile on his face. His service made the experience much more special. Thank you, Eduardo, for your excellent service! I would definitely return for the treatment and quality of service.

We stayed at Pestana Porto - a Brasileira for 4 nights. It was a great base for exploring Porto because it's just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Porto but everything is walkable. We opted or the daily breakfast which was very good. Our room was quiet at night, it's clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. It's a great spot to sit at their outside cafe and people watch! Highly recommend this hotel

Rita Azevedo was friendly, personable and provided excellent service to us. It was my husband’s birthday and the staff brought dessert with a candle with champagne and all sang Happy Birthday. The food was delicious! Excellent quality and presented well. We would definitely return! Thank you Rita! You are the best!

This historic building is located extremely conveniently for people to walk around the downtown core of Porto. It is very easy to walk up the hill to Mercado do Bolhão or Rua de Santa Catarina for some shopping. Likewise, it is very easy to walk down the hill to Ponte Dom Luís I or Praça da Ribiera on the Douro River||The staff were friendly and helpful, though there were a few small mix ups along the way.||The decor of the hotel is nice, leaning into the historic coffee house theme. Unfortunately, while attractive the hotel isn’t very comfortable. The bed was extremely hard. There were three pillows, the largest was massive and also extremely hard. The middle pillow was a decent size, but was extremely soft, making it way too small when you try to use it. The desk seat is actually the footstool for the armchair, which is too low for the desk and isn’t very comfortable.

Rita at the gorgeous cafe was a lovely stop over for dinner. She was so helpful and knew all about the history of the cafe. Stop by for the short cake and um cafe. The hotel was modern, sleek and comfortable. The scents on each floor was wonderful. Everyone was very helpful

Stayed two nights to celebrate my sister’s up and coming special birthday. Had a room on the 3rd floor with two balconies that overlooked the street. However, when the windows were shut, you couldn’t hear much noise. On arrival, there was some sparkling wine in an ice bucket left for us which was a lovely gesture on the hotel’s behalf. The air con didn’t seem to work properly when we first arrived so we asked for a fan and when we returned to our room later on, they had left us two!|The staff on reception were fabulous, very friendly and helpful. A special shout out to Felipe who couldn’t do enough for you and was on hand to help with any queries at all - that guy has got the patience of a Saint!!|We booked a tuktuk ride via Felipe which was really good but I’d recommend doing it at the very start of your trip if you can to help you get your bearings, whereas we did our just before we left to go home.|We thought the breakfast was good but on our second day, the service wasn’t as slick. They had ran out of glasses, bacon and beans and we had to ask for them to be replenished even though there were a lot of staff around to surely notice when items had run low. There was sparkling wine and port on offer as well as fruit, cereals, pastries and hot food as already mentioned.|The hotel is in a very central location, close to the most popular landmarks and also shops, bars and restaurants.|We really enjoyed our time there very much and will definitely return one day.

We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel! The staff is extremely kind and attentive, which made the whole experience even more special. I would like to highlight Artur, who was incredibly helpful and caring throughout our stay. The whole team was excellent and made us feel genuinely welcome. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Service was very sllllllowwww, but the mini coffee snack I had was excellent. The place was pretty and lucky to escape the torrential rain. Lovely environment and everyone seemed so kind.

Yelp
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in December in a Deluxe Double room and it was wonderful! My family and I booked 3 separate Deluxe Double rooms. Hubby and I arrived first because we took an earlier train from Lisbon. Initially, the other two rooms were on the same floor and ours was on a separate floor so I asked if it was possible for us to at all be together on the same floor, if not all of the rooms could be next to each other. They ended up upgrading us to a really nice suite! It had a little terrace you could open up and a separate sitting area. Lucky for us! Not so lucky for the other two rooms. Though their rooms were nice too, just not as spacious. Here are some of the pros/cons of our stay: Pros: -Spacious and clean rooms -Nice public sitting area outside of the suite rooms, where we could meet up before heading out -Mini fridge with bottled water and Coca Cola -Each floor has a different theme, which I thought was really cool. You'll see a different scent-themed decor (and smell) for each. For example, one floor was coffee, another was chili, and another was star anise -Very reasonably prices. We booked through Hotels.com and paid maybe about €110 per night, including taxes -Great location! It's right in the center of Porto and most of the tourist attractions and good restaurants are 5-10 minute walk away -Huge bathroom with his and hers sinks and plenty of space underneath for your toiletries -Comfortable beds/pillows. Although it wasn't a true King size, more like two twins pushed together but I think that's just a European thing -Bath robes -Free welcome drink at their hotel bar (which you don't have to use on the same night as you check in if you're too tired) -They let us check in early at around 12:30 even though check-in is not until 2 or 3 Cons: -There is construction going on outside so it's a little bit more difficult (though not impossible) to get an Uber outside. We took an Uber from the Santa Apolonia train station. He couldn't drop us off right in front but it was still just around the corner, so it wasn't terrible even with our huge luggages Honestly, I can't really think of any cons other than that. Highly recommend Pestana Porto. Might be one of the best hotels I've stayed at in Europe!

Yelp
My view is of the restaurant only, didn't stay at the hotel. Very mediocre for the price yet I was getting too hungry. Had the shrimp salad with a glass of vinho verde. Waitstaff were rather slow yet cordial. Pass it by if you see it. Interior is lovely of an era from the past.

Yelp
This hotel is 3.5 starts property. The quality of amenities, rooms and service are nowhere near 5 stars. The beds are hard, and two twins moved together so not make a king! Everything is just cheap and no attention to detail. Towels are scratchy, bathroom has no ventilation, water temp fluctuates on its own, materials used in bathroom feel more motel than hotel. No ability of initiative to solve issues. Bed is hard, shelf is broken and they just say oh housekeeping is gone for the night and so is maintenance, hmmm really? Well perhaps front desk guy can show more initiative. No coffee maker in the room either.

Yelp
Great hotel, réception staff helped me with a difficult situation. Unbeknownst to me, I had scheduled my staff during one of the biggest festivals in Porto. Celebrating St João day. Streets are blocked surrounding the hotel. Luckily for me the reception worked with the police, so I could leave the hotel. The hotel has several restaurants ; one of which I tried. A Brasilera. Room was quiet, comfortable with a view of the street. One of the things that was so unique about the hotel was each floor had a scent. My floor was cinammon. Scent of cinammon wafted in the air, the picture in the room was of cinammon sticks. This hotel is centrally located. There are restaurants located within walking distance. I would recommend staying at this hotel.

Yelp
This hotel exceeded our expectations and if we return to Porto we are staying here again. We reserved a Deluxe room (thinking we wanted to stay on a high floor to avoid street noise) and due to our anniversary we were upgraded to a Master Suite room Here are the benefits: - Super comfortable beds (I tend to like firmer beds and our bed hit the spot) - Great spacious showers with great water pressure - Amazing staff here are some examples: 1. No parking on site but, unsolicited the bellman offered and went with me (in my car) to ensure I parked in the proper garage (as I do not speak Portugese). Who does that?? 2. Susanna the manager was eager to help me get my bearings and made wonderful suggestions as well booked a tour to Duoro for us last minute. Never once making me feel like I was imposing on her time and always in a genuine friendly manner. 3. Pedro, another Bellman, went WAY WAY above and beyond to assist my wife and I with a car rental issue we experienced. Caring at every moment that we were OK and doing whatever he could (reaching and speaking Portugese with the rental company, etc.) This young man was very impressive and treated us like he would his own family (at least the ones he likes :) - Very clean hotel and an awesome warm modern design/vibe. - Can't beat the location in Porto for access to everything. - Their buffet breakfast was extremely well done. Try to get yours included, it cost 18Euro each (so a bit on the pricey side) but well worth it. This hotel has only been open for 4 months and they are doing things the right way. I highly recommend anyone visiting Porto for pleasure or business to give this place a try, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Susanna and Pedro to showing us what Porto is all about!!

Yelp
We had lunch a la carte. Vegetable soup, cauliflower salad and a chicken salad. We were alone in the restaurant and the service was great. So was the food. They offered us bread with olive oil and specialty, flavored butters which is extra but great with the soup. Only one question - why is the soup yellow when it's mostly potatoes? Maybe Portuguese potatoes are yellow because the wait staff said they don't use saffron. Cost was reasonable - more than the fixed price menu but still good value in a nice ambiance in an upscale neighborhood and beautiful ambiance.
