I love when an organization renews an old property and keeps the charm of the old while adding the shiny and new features that make a place awesome. This is one of those places. The outside is beautiful as is the glorious dining room and cafeteria with big windows and lots of what looks like marble. The rooms are modern and clean and have all the modern conveniences including big comfortable beds, double sinks in the bathroom and a spacious shower. The rooms are also lovely and quiet, ours faced the street. Our delight in our stay has a lot to do with the excellent staff starting with the exceptional greeting and service from Alex at reception and by the wonderful service in the dining room from Sara. All of the other encounters with staff have been pleasant and friendly. The location couldn't be much better than the superb location they're with convenient walking distance to a lot of the favourite restaurants and sights. Highly and happily recommended.

First time in Porto and staying at this hotel. If I came back I would stay again. The breakfast was included and was absolutely delicious. The filter coffee was perfect as well as the super cute dining room. The staff especially Rita was incredible, very accommodating. The rooms are very clean, bed comfortable. And the bath tub was nice and large. Thank you.

Perfect hotel for a few leisure days in Porto. The central location is convenient for all the places I wanted to visit. Also easy to arrive - near to a subway station that goes straight to the airport, and also just a few steps to the regional train station. The staff was super sweet and helpful -- I felt like they cared about my well-being and my enjoyment of their city. All the modern amenities like a mini fridge and coffee maker in the room are important to me so I appreciated those, and the breakfast spread in the adjoining restaurant was just lovely. The gym is another appreciated amenity -- it's basic, but also just enough -- after all, your legs are already getting a workout walking the steep Porto streets :) Don't forget to enjoy the peaceful enclosed garden space. Overall this hotel is a very comfortable convenient space with a superstar team of people that make it even better.

This is a nice hotel and perfectly located, but to be honest I wanted to like it more than I did. It feels more like a 4 star hotel than 5. For those who use conditioner, beware that there is only shampoo and no conditioner. I was a bit surprised that on one of my days here, they did not service the room. Also, I think it is important that hotels provide enough water but they only provided one bottle a day, so I had no water on the day they did not service.

Wonderful hotel, located quite close to all attractions in Porto. No need for metro tickets or taxi. You can easily walk everywhere from this hotel. The rooms are clean, modern and have anything you may need. As a side note, I personally missed a fridge. Personnel are super nice, always trying to help all costumers either at the rooms, or at the restaurant. The breakfast is buffet but you can also order some dishes on the spot, as well as several kinds of coffee. The variety and quality of the food is excellent. Rita was usually the person helping us at the restaurant and she was super nice. We got a nice dessert in the room on the arrival day. We travelled with our baby, and the hotel prepared everything for it, including cot, towels, special bath gel, etc. They did not miss any details. The restaurant also counts with high chairs for babies and kids. Fully recommended. If I am back in Porto, I would definitely book again in this hotel.

Pestana Porto - A Brasileira is the definition of a true 5-star hotel. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with elegance, comfort, and exceptional service. The room was spacious and luxurious, designed with great attention to detail, ensuring a restful and memorable stay. The breakfast was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and offering a wide variety to start the day right. The service was impeccable, with every staff member going above and beyond to make the experience seamless. And the location? Absolutely unbeatable, right in the heart of Porto, making it easy to explore this beautiful city. This hotel is the perfect blend of sophistication and convenience. Truly deserving of its 5-star status. Highly recommended!

We originally booked our reservation for two nights, but ended up extending. When we checked in, we were greeted by the friendliest staff. Rita took us to our room, told us about the hotel, showed us where the amenities were, and showed us the map. She was so warm and friendly, the absolute best part of this hotel. Every time we walked past a staff member, they were so friendly. We absolutely loved this hotel, the central location, amazing staff (Rita!!!! She is our best friend now. The lady who checked us in (she's from Lisbon but lives here now, the concierge gentleman with the dark hair who paid attention to so many details even folding umbrellas up, and the other guest service manager with curly hair). Parking is close by and €25 a day. Breakfast was included. Rooms were clean. Beds were amazingly comfortable. I'm in the hotel industry and can be quite critical. This staff and hotel were impeccable! Especially Rita!

We had the sincere pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel in January of 2025. We were very impressed with the friendly welcoming staff. The beautiful building, clean very comfortable rooms, and superb location- we could walk to everything. The staff was wonderful with suggestion of places to visit and making arrangements. The restaurant was phenomenal, as was our waiter Jorge, who was most efficient, attentive and charming, he made our dining experience most memorable.

Yelp
Service was very sllllllowwww, but the mini coffee snack I had was excellent. The place was pretty and lucky to escape the torrential rain. Lovely environment and everyone seemed so kind.

Yelp
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in December in a Deluxe Double room and it was wonderful! My family and I booked 3 separate Deluxe Double rooms. Hubby and I arrived first because we took an earlier train from Lisbon. Initially, the other two rooms were on the same floor and ours was on a separate floor so I asked if it was possible for us to at all be together on the same floor, if not all of the rooms could be next to each other. They ended up upgrading us to a really nice suite! It had a little terrace you could open up and a separate sitting area. Lucky for us! Not so lucky for the other two rooms. Though their rooms were nice too, just not as spacious. Here are some of the pros/cons of our stay: Pros: -Spacious and clean rooms -Nice public sitting area outside of the suite rooms, where we could meet up before heading out -Mini fridge with bottled water and Coca Cola -Each floor has a different theme, which I thought was really cool. You'll see a different scent-themed decor (and smell) for each. For example, one floor was coffee, another was chili, and another was star anise -Very reasonably prices. We booked through Hotels.com and paid maybe about €110 per night, including taxes -Great location! It's right in the center of Porto and most of the tourist attractions and good restaurants are 5-10 minute walk away -Huge bathroom with his and hers sinks and plenty of space underneath for your toiletries -Comfortable beds/pillows. Although it wasn't a true King size, more like two twins pushed together but I think that's just a European thing -Bath robes -Free welcome drink at their hotel bar (which you don't have to use on the same night as you check in if you're too tired) -They let us check in early at around 12:30 even though check-in is not until 2 or 3 Cons: -There is construction going on outside so it's a little bit more difficult (though not impossible) to get an Uber outside. We took an Uber from the Santa Apolonia train station. He couldn't drop us off right in front but it was still just around the corner, so it wasn't terrible even with our huge luggages Honestly, I can't really think of any cons other than that. Highly recommend Pestana Porto. Might be one of the best hotels I've stayed at in Europe!

Yelp
My view is of the restaurant only, didn't stay at the hotel. Very mediocre for the price yet I was getting too hungry. Had the shrimp salad with a glass of vinho verde. Waitstaff were rather slow yet cordial. Pass it by if you see it. Interior is lovely of an era from the past.

Yelp
This hotel is 3.5 starts property. The quality of amenities, rooms and service are nowhere near 5 stars. The beds are hard, and two twins moved together so not make a king! Everything is just cheap and no attention to detail. Towels are scratchy, bathroom has no ventilation, water temp fluctuates on its own, materials used in bathroom feel more motel than hotel. No ability of initiative to solve issues. Bed is hard, shelf is broken and they just say oh housekeeping is gone for the night and so is maintenance, hmmm really? Well perhaps front desk guy can show more initiative. No coffee maker in the room either.

Yelp
Great hotel, réception staff helped me with a difficult situation. Unbeknownst to me, I had scheduled my staff during one of the biggest festivals in Porto. Celebrating St João day. Streets are blocked surrounding the hotel. Luckily for me the reception worked with the police, so I could leave the hotel. The hotel has several restaurants ; one of which I tried. A Brasilera. Room was quiet, comfortable with a view of the street. One of the things that was so unique about the hotel was each floor had a scent. My floor was cinammon. Scent of cinammon wafted in the air, the picture in the room was of cinammon sticks. This hotel is centrally located. There are restaurants located within walking distance. I would recommend staying at this hotel.

Yelp
This hotel exceeded our expectations and if we return to Porto we are staying here again. We reserved a Deluxe room (thinking we wanted to stay on a high floor to avoid street noise) and due to our anniversary we were upgraded to a Master Suite room Here are the benefits: - Super comfortable beds (I tend to like firmer beds and our bed hit the spot) - Great spacious showers with great water pressure - Amazing staff here are some examples: 1. No parking on site but, unsolicited the bellman offered and went with me (in my car) to ensure I parked in the proper garage (as I do not speak Portugese). Who does that?? 2. Susanna the manager was eager to help me get my bearings and made wonderful suggestions as well booked a tour to Duoro for us last minute. Never once making me feel like I was imposing on her time and always in a genuine friendly manner. 3. Pedro, another Bellman, went WAY WAY above and beyond to assist my wife and I with a car rental issue we experienced. Caring at every moment that we were OK and doing whatever he could (reaching and speaking Portugese with the rental company, etc.) This young man was very impressive and treated us like he would his own family (at least the ones he likes :) - Very clean hotel and an awesome warm modern design/vibe. - Can't beat the location in Porto for access to everything. - Their buffet breakfast was extremely well done. Try to get yours included, it cost 18Euro each (so a bit on the pricey side) but well worth it. This hotel has only been open for 4 months and they are doing things the right way. I highly recommend anyone visiting Porto for pleasure or business to give this place a try, you will not be disappointed. Thank you Susanna and Pedro to showing us what Porto is all about!!

Yelp
We had lunch a la carte. Vegetable soup, cauliflower salad and a chicken salad. We were alone in the restaurant and the service was great. So was the food. They offered us bread with olive oil and specialty, flavored butters which is extra but great with the soup. Only one question - why is the soup yellow when it's mostly potatoes? Maybe Portuguese potatoes are yellow because the wait staff said they don't use saffron. Cost was reasonable - more than the fixed price menu but still good value in a nice ambiance in an upscale neighborhood and beautiful ambiance.
