PETA Theater Center

Very good location for shows with smaller audience size. Venue is very intimate. There are shows that would have free seating based on ticket catergory and also some shows with reserved seating where you can select your seat upon ticket purchase. Parking is avaiable but only as side street parking so best to come early if you are bringing your own vehicle. Fast food restaurants are available with a 5 minute walk distance from PETA.

Loved PETA Theater! It’s intimate, well-ventilated, and easy to find esp. because we came from the province. Incredibly thrilled when we got tickets to see One More Chance The Musical! OMC Merch sold near the entrance/exit. Photo-ops everywhere! Benches provided at the ground floor waiting area. CR located at the 2nd floor. We bothered a staff to take a picture of us but he was nice and took a couple. Show started on time. Ushers were systematic, assisted us to our seats. Paid parking at PETA Axxess Parking Lot, near St. Luke’s Medical Center School of Medicine. I know there’s a free shuttle service but we just walked from there to the theater. It’s fairly close. We shall certainly be back to see more shows!

PETA Theatre offers an intimate and cozy space, which adds to the charm of the whole experience. Despite its smaller size, the production I watched was full of surprises and exceeded my expectations. The close proximity to the stage really enhances the connection with the performers, making the experience feel more personal. If you’re planning to watch a show, I’d recommend sitting in row J or further back, as these seats provide the best view and comfort. While rows A to I are closer to the stage, they aren’t inclined enough, which can result in a bit of neck strain from looking up. Overall, if you enjoy intimate venues with great productions, PETA Theatre is worth a visit!

The theatre offers an intimate venue for shows. It's usually free seating per area, so I suggest coming early to get the best seats. Street parking is allowed, but spots are limited.

Watched the Sari-Sali Portal Cafe. While the venue is relatively small, the intimate setup enhances the connection between the performers and the audience, creating a truly captivating experience.

Very intimate theater for a musical. I would say every seat is a good one although the best option for me is either the orchestra side or the balcony center. My only issue was the beeping sound before the show starts (for both Acts). It's kinda disturbing...

Tried both sitting on upper level and ground level, better to be at ground level. But Anino Sa Likod ng Buwan is brilliant! A must watch while it is still running

Watched One More Chance here. It was my first time at PETA. Good decision that I bought a VIP ticket, my friends who were on the sides, had a hard time watching the play. Overall, a good, small theater that makes it seem intimate any running play.

My first time here and was impressed by how they set up the Rak of Aegis stage - it had water! I liked how the audience could see the stage perfectly - we were at the Balcony center and had a good view. I guess those at the topmost right/left side would not be able to see the stage in full. The sound system was awesome, the temperature was just right. Seats were just monoblock chairs but it adds to the vibe of the place. I loved this theatre! It's just too far from the south but I wouldnt hesitate going back to watch another play.

Watched three stars and a sun last night! It was a show that you shouldn't miss! Hands down to all PETA members for giving us a wonderful and entertaining night!

I've always been a fan of PETA, as they are very committed in creating consciously Filipino theater productions, which is something to applaud in a fast homogenizing contemporary culture. They stage many an inventive, but still accessible creation like "Rak of Aegis" or "Arbol de Fuego." The people there are amazing in what they do, as in today's internet age it can be hard to make something for a general audience that isn't tired and derivative. I'm always look forward to seeing more from them. I'm also a big fan of their actual physical theater as I don't feel that there is anything pretentious about it, other than the wall mural of Filipino tarot cards, which I am in love with. There are only a couple of things about their main theater: the arrangement of chairs can be very cramped and the level of the stage in relation to the audience can give leave your neck tired. Plus the fact that you're not allowed to take fully Tupperwared sandwiches or food and drink of any kind inside the theater. Like, it's not like I planned to eat it inside, and it's already in a proper plastic container! Harumph. That aside, the majesty of the theater can catch you by surprise when you're coming from the craziness of the E. Rodriguez-New Manila area. Try walking to get the full effect as you step downhill from E. Rod then up the street to round the corner and see the stark white building welcoming you into the world of... THEATER!

It was quite the travesty that it took me forever to visit a place like the PETA Theater. Seeing countless productions in the past in other farther venues like the Cultural Center of the Philippines in Manila and Meralco Theater in Pasig, I found it hard to believe that I never found the time to drop by this relatively nearby venue in Quezon City that I often passed by. Alas, here came the musical: Rak of Aegis. I knew I couldn't pass up the opportunity to finally go. The production was great, as expected. As for the venue, it isn't very spacious and can get pretty cramped during a full house. Despite minor discomfort and a bit of claustrophobia, I felt that this created a more "intimate" experience for patrons like myself. In other words, the vibe created by the nature of the setup allows the audience to get "sucked in" and really feel that they're actually part of the play, or gives them this feeling as if they're actually getting to know the characters personally. Indeed quite the conducive venue for productions like musical plays.

The PETA theater is home of a lot of history. It's such a beacon of culture and houses so many activities that cultivate the arts and theater. I've watched a bit too many plays and musicals in this theater, and I have more or less enjoyed each one of those. There's almost always a production playing or a production in the works in the PETA theater, and that's always a good thing for Philippine theater. PETA theater is different from other stages or theater here in Metro Manila just because it's quite tiny. The stage isn't wide, it isn't long, and seats are limited. You would already be happy buying the cheapest ticket because you're still pretty near the stage, comparatively. But the productions I've watched have always made the best out of the limited stage, and you actually see a lot of creativity from it. Plus, for those who are talented enough, PETA offers classes for those interested in indulging in this art.

For my first time attending a production at the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA)--not to be mistaken for the organization that supports animal rights--I watched Carlo Vergara's full-length superhero musical "Kung Paano Ako Naging Leading Lady," which was brought to the stage by Dalanghita Productions. Full of witty one-liners and acerbic comebacks, the plays staged at PETA Theater Center gain a huge following for featuring original Filipino plays and musicals, Rak of Aegis being a vivacious example. (Be sure to watch it!) What I like most about PETA Theater Center is that they're a theater company that showcases what original Filipino plays and musicals have to offer, with a slant on social commentary without forgetting to provide solid entertainment, the kind that elicits loud guffaws, piercing shrieks of kilig, and other visceral reactions from their audience. PETA Theater Center also offers summer workshops on creative musical theater, basic acting, theater & arts. Never afraid to break the boundaries of what can be done in theater, PETA Theater Center celebrates local talent and pulses with a shared passion for Philippine theater and performing arts.
