Stopped in for dog food and was pleased to find a $15 off coupon for Hills in bag size I was going to purchase. Good savings. Store was clean and well organized. I needed help to reach the bag and waited in the aisle for a while. There are no employees on the floor that I could see. I finally went to the fish area and asked the person there to help me. I saw him helping multiple customers because there wasn't anyone else around. He was polite and patient with handling many customer requests and questions. I wanted help getting the bag to and into my car but didn't ask because I figured the poor fish guy would be the one to have to do it!!

My puppy goes to training classes with Ben, who is AMAZING. I highly recommend due to his knowledge and dedication to teaching me the best way to keep my Winnie safe and happy!!!!

Made an appointment yesterday for our dog, Little Miss, to have her nails trimmed and buffed. We ended up upgrading the appointment to a Mini Make”Rover” and Celia, our groomer was amazing! Our ole’ girl Little Miss is anxious, but Celia was wonderful! Thank you so much! Petco, you are lucky to have Celia!

My dog is been going to Petco grooming for about a year now maybe longer, we’ve never had any issues I really like it because it’s convenient and I have vital care so it’s a little more affordable. However my dogs last visit was absolutely horrible and I will never ever spend my money at Petco again. His appointment was for 8am they did explain it might take a little longer than usual (which is usually about 2 hrs) because it was the weekend of Christmas. Not a problem my mother was going to be there to pick him up. After about 3/4 hours my mother shows up just to get an update they were extremely rude and overbooked which my mother called them out on, the man at the desk slammed his hand on the table and said “what do you want me to do not take peoples money on Christmas weekend?” So clearly they do not care about our pets it’s all about the money. My dog was there for 6 and a half HOURS. HOURS. He was not picked up until 230 pm No bathroom break, no food nothing. When he was picked up his haircut was awful I will show pictures it was not at all like the times before he had spots, there was hair still falling in my moms car so he wasn’t blown out well and you can just tell it wasn’t a job well done. I work in customer service too so I have sympathy but nothing was done right and I didn’t appreciate the customer service that they had given that day. Don’t bring your pet here take the time to find somewhere that you know your dog will be in good hands. I wish I had asked the man’s name at the desk but my dog does usually see Jennifer D. And I will make sure everyone knows that Petco is the last place you should be bringing your pet. My dog was crying when he was picked up, came home wasn’t playful just wanted to be left alone so you can obviously tell he wasn’t in a great environment

The store was clean, well lit, and organized. Staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful

So I thought I was going to get better service here, but In fact this girl that cut my pup’s hair did a horrible job. Uneven cut on ears. My pup has been scratching her ear ever since. Which I found out she didn’t even clean them. $100.00 plus and a tip later, I am not satisfied at all. If I could get a refund I would. .Horrible service I wish I could remember her name but I can’t. I do not recommend.

everyone has been helpful, and kind. Groomer was terrific, and super friendly. puppy trainer super nice, patient and helpful.

Very pleased with this pet store. It has just about everything you need for all types of pets. Store prices are decent 👍 and there's plenty of free parking also wheel chair accessible. Employee's are polite and helpful and store is very clean!

This Petco is one of their larger stores. They have a large saltwater section and have, on occasion, had somewhat knowledgeable staff. Although these stores often get a bad reputation for places to buy livestock, I have had pretty good success. Sadly, with the decline in knowledgeable local fish stores, sometimes places like Petco are your only option. If I need something right away, and am unable to get to my favorite fish store in North Providence I will come here instead. Their selection is fair, and they have most things that you could want. Although I do wish they carried better quality salt and chemicals.

Petco took NO responsibility to my pet getting hurt while being groomed. I highly suggest Do NOT bring your pet there. Especially Senior dogs. They make excuses saying the pet wasn't hurt there. LIES as my dog was perfectly fine when we entered the building. When we got home he couldn't walk on his left leg. Making excuses saying maybe my dog doesn't like to be groomed seriously what does that have to do with my dog being hurt made no sense what the girl was saying just shows they have no experience. my dog has been groomed since he was a puppy and enjoys it. They don't know what they're doing or saying Save your pet from being hurt DO NOT go there ! Go to a real groomer that cares for the well being of your pet.

Left my dog without supervision on cutting table with the lease hook to his collar to grab the cutters luckily I got him in leased before he jumped!

I used to go there all the time and there was two girls who did an amazing job grooming my dog, however, few months ago there was this guy who did an terrible job and when I reported it, they asked me to come back the price I was supposed to pay was double because they added more services my dog didn't need. This week I scheduled an appointment and I received an call from the same guy who did a lousy Job and refuse to groom my dog, then I rescheduled the appointment then call me to cancel the appointment again. I spoke to the supervisor about it and there was no resolution from this matter. This is not professional at all and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Grooming Department is great. My dog Emma went in For a bath, cut & teeth brush. Emma was taken care of by a women named April who listen to what I wanted done. She already has her next appointment booked with April.

Thanks for nothing - we go to get our dogs nails trimmed all the time there and with 10 min before a an appointment this lady wouldn't trim ONE of my dog's nails that literally takes way less than 10 minutes, historically anyway. Guess we won't be back. She spent more time telling me she wouldn't be able to do it than the time it would have taken to trim them. I should also mention... She was in the back for quite some time with nobody around before she actually came out to talk to me. Think that wasn't planned? Lately it just feels like people don't want to do what they're getting paid for.

Today we came in to buy some fish and met Ben!!! not only was he knowledgeable about the fish no matter what I asked about he seem to know about everything in the store with detail!! He went out of his way to help us never once did I feel rushed or forced to buy anything!! yet I bought so many things that I was not there for because he took time to explain the benefits of the reward system perfectly. in the end I ended up saving over $150 it's nice to meet people that like their job and are knowledgeable really think he could've ran that store by himself. "Bottom line is you have a great employee on your hands treat him well" My Husband says I say make him management or lead of training at all your locations.The world needs Bens!!

My now one year old pup has been groomed at petco in Dartmouth a few times. Groomed monthly and I adore PETCO Taunton for grooming. But my most recent grooming closer to home in Dartmouth and just an awful experience. Not sure total cost for grooming and bought the extra flea and tick treatment--- but around $100. When i arrived to pick up once they called--- no bow in her pony tail... asked if they found any ticks (bad this season despite the good collar) she said just one. And i asked if she did Tick and flea treatment and she asked someone else--- and then grabbed a little squirt thing and put a few drops on my pups neck and said all set. Pups face was dirty but assumed maybe from eating treats? Later that night I found a large tick on her snout. About the size of large nail head. Full of blood. Clearly face not cleaned or clipped--- nor check for ticks! The next day she began licking her paws which she never does and later that day paws bleeding all over house. Back paw had fair amount. I thought she had ripped something---- had no idea what was wrong until saw her bleeding from her nails. I pulled my cameras to make sure nothing had happened---- just saw her licking her paws. Petco Dartmouth please dont do this to another pup. I only went to you as during covid no reputable groomer had any availability for new pups. It is inhumane having people not qualified to groom dogs allowed to butcher their nails like this. Maybe give baths... but this should have never happened.

I went to petco to buy some fish for my new fish tank. The worker assisting me was very nice. He asked me if I had the water to test from the fish tank and I didn't. He said that we can try a couple fish. His exact words were.. if they croak there's a 30 day guarantee on the fish and they will test the water and help me get it right. Then he tells me I need to get a minimum of 3 fish. I take the 3 fish home and after just hours of the fish being in their new tank they were dead. I called petco and told them they died and the girl over the phone said.. yup you have 30 days just bring the dead fish separate from a water sample. I went back with my water sample and this was a different worker now. He checked the water and his exact words were.. this wouldn't have killed the fish but the nitrates are high and because of that I can't give you a refund. The workers should stop telling customers that the fish are guaranteed for 30 days because obviously it comes with stipulations. They should say it's 30 day guarantee as long as the water passes our test. No instead the worker I had knew I had a new tank that the water wasn't tested and still told me it was ok to fill it with fish because of their 30 day guarantee. I tried talking to the manager there but she just referred back to the fish boys. I called customer service when I got home. They were completely useless. They were going to offer me coupons. I told them I didn't need any coupons because I won't be shopping at their store anymore. The only reason I gave it two stars is bc most of the workers are very nice. It's also very expensive. Never again.

Little-Lulu gets groomed about every 6 weeks by Christy at Petco! Then its all she barks about for days. It's Christy this, and Christy that! Little-Lulu is my best friend in the world and I know she's in good hands with Christy when I have to leave Petco. I bring Little-Lulu to Petco because Little-Lulu loves Christy.

Just went to buy a fish and was told I needed to wait a week.. then suggested a product for the tank that says fish can be added immediately after. Uneducated, unprofessional staff.

I went to Petco this morning and bought 2 dogs treats and there was a sign Mix and Match 20% off. Got to the register and the woman running the register was already upset because the register was slow to start up ( Mind you this is 10am Sunday morning) once she rang everything up I said I thought it was 20% for mix and match. My fault I didn't read the fine print. So she proceeds to use her WalkieTalkie over the loudspeaker in the store. What an embarrassment !!! I don't understand stand now a days no one has any courtesy for the customer. Well anyway I didn't get the 20% off but I did walk away embarrassed. Thank you to the register woman. I hope she had a wonderful day.

This is the largest petco I've ever been to!!!!! I frequent the aquatics section as my boyfriend and I have many many tanks of fish. The had a small section oof coral frags, and a much larger selection of freshwater and saltwater fish. They also had a few brackish water fish which isn't something I usually see at petco. Eddy was in the aquatic section and helped Us out. He knew a lot about the fish we were interested in and how they would get along with other fish inn our tanks.

Meh...the store is okay I guess, but I am commentating about puppy play time. I thought it would be great for my 8 week old puppy, who is not the least bit shy, but when confronted by a 3 month old bully, she hid under the chairs and whined and snapped at the bully the whole time we were there. She was frightened and the petco employee in charge said this was normal puppy play time behavior. Well, I don't think so...a bully is a bully is a bully. Why would I set my puppy up to be fearful ? I have seen her with multiple big dogs, and if the approach is correct, the meeting goes well. A bully puppy should be separated from younger pups. Won't be back.

Went in to look for a dog harness, we were ignored by every single employee, left with nothing because we couldn't get 1 to fit. The store was a huge mess with missing tags and misplaced merchandise everywhere. The thing that got me really ticked off though, was that all the restrooms were locked& labeled for employees only. Such an uninviting pet store. I won't return.

I own two short haired cats that shed like crazy. I brush them often but figured I'd take them to a groomer to get a good brush out. I called around many groomers in the area. Most places didn't even offer cat services, or they wanted to charge an arm and a leg. I ended up calling Petco in Dartmouth and was pleased to hear they do offer grooming services for cats. It's a walk-in service so I took them in today, a Tuesday afternoon around 1PM. There is only one groomer who specializes in cats, and thankfully she was there. They were able to get us in fairly quickly. Both my cats did a wonderful job. Everyone we met seemed incredibly nice. The woman who brushed my cats did great, way better than I could ever do! I couldn't believe how much hair came off my two cats. She seemed to take care to brush them out well. The service was $10 per cat, which is a great deal! I would definitely come back here for my cats to get brushed every so often, to control the shedding in my house.

I was discusted when I was there the other day hamsters under stress in the cages jumping all over the place not in a playfull manner over stressed some with nit makes from over housing. Then the worst was in the reptile section where a poor iguana was in the tank under fed burn on his back and a worm ( parasite ) coming out of his ear. Please get these animals some vet care and get people that care about pets to work ther

I have taken my little Yorkie to some of the highest rated dog groomers. I always had some problem. He gets nervous and scared to go. BUT Jessica at North Dartmouth Petco is the best! She always Does a great job she listens to what I want And she actually cares about the animal she is grooming. I will continue to return to this Petco and Jessica. I finally have found a place that grooms him completely and that I am happy with every time! Thanks Jessica Sampsons Mom!

We had the best experience at this Petco grooming last week. I'm not usually a huge fan of Petco grooming, but last week our dog got sprayed by a skunk. We called them the following morning and they got us in immediately first thing that morning, they even called our vet for our dogs rabies info since we didn't have that printed out on hand. When we picked him up, practically the whole staff was there to give us an update on his grooming and also more information on dealing with skunk spray. They gave him a cute bandana, and let us borrow their leash because ours was also covered in skunk smell. After dealing with an incredibly frustrating experience, our experience at this Petco grooming location was refreshing to say the least. We will definitely return here and we want to thank the staff so much.

Excellent customer service in this store.. I visited for the first time after having a bad experience at a local Petco and while I was considering going to a different Pet Store chain, I decided to give this Dartmouth store a chance and i'm glad I did. The store was 100 times cleaner than the store I'd just left, the store was also A LOT busier and they manage to keep it clean.. The Fish Department was triple the size of the Middletown store and in a much better location so you could actually see what you were looking for and you didn't have to spend a half hour hunting down a salesperson, They come right to you after a few minutes. Bri waited on me tonight, and she was awesome. I had no problem getting the fish I wanted (the second fish I wanted was out of stock) she was very nice, polite and sympathetic regarding my issues at the other Petco store. The store itself was bigger, more well stocked and the cashier was very friendly as well.. This store is about 20 minutes from me and I'll be going to this store in the future for anything I may need. The excellent customer service makes it well worth the extra time to get there! I can't comment on grooming, since my cats don't need it, so read the other reviews for that!

It's winter time and sales are on, so I stopped in to check to see if there any dog sweaters that I could pick up for my little pooch! They had 50% off all the Star Wars dog sweaters, costumes, toys, etc.... but no sales yet on sweaters so I will be back!

I love going here. I can bring my dog in with me and she goes nuts seeing all the toys. And it also is great to get your dog to learn to socialize with both people AND other dogs!! They have everything you can imagine when it comes to most pets. I'm not crazy about the snake section buy I just avoid it. Lol. If you've never been, it's a great place to check out. Friendly staff too!! They will do grooming and clip your dogs nails also.

I've been taking my 8 year old puggle to be groomed at Petco for at least 5 years now. The last time I went in they said they needed "a letter of clearance" from my Vet since Brady is on medicine to treat his seizures. I called my vet and she was so confused because grooming is not a trigger for seizures but she sent me a letter anyways after she told me that maybe it's time to look for a new groomer. Today I go to bring my dog in and they tell me it's a brand new policy that any dog on daily meds can't be groomed there. I can't even believe this place is allowed to have dogs come in there since they are clearly not even educated on stuff they are banning. I will be sure to bring my dogs elsewhere from now on as they have just lost a loyal customer.

Walk in service for nail clip was fast, courteous, and reasonably priced. No complaints, will be back.

My dog was treated very well by the groomers. They obviously love dogs and I find it very reassuring to know that he is being treated so kindly.

Petco grooming has done a great job with our golden retriever. Our dog is always treated right and looks amazing when done. Ask for Ashley...she's great!!!

I went there once and my dog was BUTCHERED, in spite of me choosing the length that I wanted him cut. Even he looked embarrassed!! It took over 3 months for him to look even somewhat normal. NEVER AGAIN.

TERRIBLE experience at the store. I went to go buy a goldfish and the gentleman at the aquatic center would not sell me a goldfish because he said that my tank wasn't big enough. However if I wanted to goldfish as food for another fish I could've purchased it. We're talking about a $.40 goldfish that Five-year-old children win goldfish at fairs l. Yet for some reason they cannot sell me one. I then proceeded to ask to speak with the manager. I explain to the manager that I purchased a goldfish from there not too long before at that exact location. The manager then told me proceed to tell me could not buy the goldfish because the my 2 gallon tank was not big enough. I am beyond irate over the situation. Plenty of people have goldfish in tanks why would they sell the small tanks with pictures of goldfish on them if that's not OK for them to be in. Does anyone else find this ridiculous. Needless to say I will never be going back to this Petco it was an absolutely terrible experience.

Have been going for about 3 years for my dog grooming and always pleased. There doesn't seem to be a lot of turnover like other places. The groomers seem to have a genuine love for animals.

Had to get a rabies shot for our dog at the last minute in order to get an apartment. Happy that you can just walk in for this and it was only $20.00. Long line, but it was fun seeing all the dogs. :)

Usually a great experience but I guess not during these times, I usually go and I don't Always get help but I always know where everything is that I'm buying and employee are always nice and have a positive attitude but this time it was different I was shopping for different things. I get there's a limit of people to be in the store and there's stuff going on in this world at the moment but after 10 min of being there instead of helping us and asking us if we needed help an employee was kicking us out with attitude and telling us with attitude that there's other people who need to get in the store and all I needed was one more thing and instead of helping she were rushing us out ‍ thanks for no help, if it wasn't that I need to go there for my pets essentials I would never go back to be honest I hate rude people but at least the cashiers nice she's always nice and I know her from around thanks Vanessa for being a great cashier n the other girl I didn't catch her name because I was so annoyed with her.

All I wanted was to ask some very basic questions about hamster care. Waited for several minutes while a girls at checkout looked at me without acknowledging my existence. Then waited in the checkout line to ask if I could get some help. Girl paged someone, never came. Several minutes later, paged again. Never came. I ended up leaving without ever having been assisted. Employees are NOT trained to work in retail. Thanks, but I will get my hamster questions answered elsewhere.

My husband and I were rescued by our dog several years ago. Now that he is a little older we cannot just give him regular treats but something for his arthritis. The customer service representatives out on the sales floor were courteous and made recommendations accordingly and within our budget. The cashier, Danny, is very friendly and made the experience that much more memorable.

Horrible customer service at this location. Went in to purchase fish and no attendant was to be found in the department. Asked 3 different employees to request assistance to the fish department - and still no employee came to provide assistance! After waiting approximately 20mins we walked out empty handed.

I got my cute little Yorkie groomed here and I can say with confidence I will never, ever return to this store or any other petco to get my dog groomed. The groomer cut his back leg and they had to rush him to the nearby vet to put him under anesthesia (yes, that bad) and stitch him up. I got a phone call after they had brought him to the vet to tell me what happened. I was horrified. My dog is now terrified of the groomers and freaks out whenever scissors get anywhere near his body. Especially his backend. He has been scarred for life (literally). The groomer didn't seem to care too much and also mentioned "oh my scissors were just sharpened too!" I am hoping she got fired after this incident. I reached out to the corporate offices and they told me that they treat an injury like a car accident- and pay for repairs (vet bill) and that's all they do. Save yourself the pain and tears and go to a real groomer!

I come here from time to time for pet supplies, and purchased my precious little ferret from here, but will most likely never purchase any reptiles from here again. I got a baby corn snake and when I got home I noticed it was infested with mites. They were so deeply burrowed into the little guy that he didn't have a chance at survival. I bought mite spray anyways and followed all the directions, and then the poor thing started squirming in pain and curled up into a ball and died right in my hands, the day after I had bought him. I was absolutely devastated. I went back to petco with him in his box and explained what happened. They checked their other reptiles and as it turns out every. single. reptile. that they had, had mites. How does that go unnoticed? Aren't employees handling these animals and cleaning their tanks and examining them to make sure they're healthy? I was given a refund, but it doesn't make up for what happened to my little pal and all the other reptiles.
