Peter Allen Motor Inn

I rated this hotel 3 because it’s not well maintained.|It’s located on the main street of Tenterfield. And it’s very affordable.|Negatives:|The toilet seat is loose. The cleaner did not clean the shower properly and left the soap that the previous occupant was using.|One of the bedside light was not working.|Our stay was ok. It was only one night.

Such a central location. Easy walk to the main shopping area. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds and clean rooms. Have visited before and will visit again.

Despite the dopey name and the run down aspect of the motel, I quite enjoyed my stay. Staff friendly and helpful, rooms clean and good air con. Highlight was the claw foot bath

Although the bed was comfortable and the location good, the room and bathroom were not very clean. Especially the bathroom, which was in a very sad and dirty state. | We were just there for a quick overnight stop, so couldn't be bothered asking for a refund and finding another place. We won't return to this motel.

This motel nèeds a big clean up and refurbishment. The price was good, the location good. Our group had 3 rooms. One room had only 1 working light, another room the floor was wet and had a very bad odour. It seemed as though the room had not been vacuumed, by the Debris on the floor. It had not been dusted for a very long time. The sheets were clean thankfully

The charming little hotel and the renowned Australian celebrity, Peter Allen, are creating a buzz in town. We are looking forward to upcoming events that promise to unite the community, making this an exciting time for both residents and visitors alike.

Stayed two nights here. The room is a bit dated but very spacious with comfortable bed, table and chairs, as well as a microwave. Good bathroom with plenty of space to put own toiletries. Shower gel and shampoo supplied. |The TV on the wall is a bit small for the size of the room and could be more centrally located in relation to the bed. |Good location in town, handy to everything. Very reasonably priced. |Only one small complaint…. the air conditioner was quite old and very noisy but effective in keeping the room warm. Overall a pleasant stay and would definitely stay here again.

This motel is located in the middle of CBD. A short walk to a good pub for dinner or other places to eat. Coles is across the road. Staff are very friendly and the price is good value. The spacious room had everything for a short or longer stay. Parking isoutside your door and mostly under cover. Water pressure is great with plenty of hot water. The through wall AC was a bit noisy and functioned very well but there was the option of using the electric blankets. It was good going into a motel room which didnt smell musky or damp. Well done.

I have to admit, I stayed here purely because of the name as I am a Peter Allen fan. :) This Golden Chain, named after Tenterfield's biggest export - the late great cabaret singer Peter Allen - is on Rouse Street which is the road through Tenterfield. There are only 18 units but all have undercover parking. The rooms are well laid out and are clean and comfortable. While not super spacious, it is not cramped and there is room for everything and space to move around. The rooms are also double brick so you cannot hear anything once you close your door. Bathroom is smallish but there is still enough room and the water pressure is excellent. Beds are comfortable and they do have a room service breakfast if you are so inclined and it is cooked very well - you definitely will not go hungry! The owners - Paul and Maz - are so friendly and gave great advice on places to see and things to do in the area. The Peter Allen Motor Inn is a very short walk to cafes and restaurants and there is a Bi-Lo and Target Country right across the street. Also, when you check in, make sure you grab the wi-fi passwords! A great place to stay if you a travelling through the area.

As Americans, we didn't recognize the name Peter Allen. What we did recognize and appreciate was the wonderful hosts of this inn. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and thank the good folks who run the Peter Allen for the tidy rooms and helpful hospitality.
