10 of the cutest dessert cafes in Tokyo - SilverKris

"A charming country-style garden cafe inspired by Beatrix Potter's children’s books, decorated with blooming flowers and character sculptures; meals arrive on themed plates with thoughtful details, the cheese buns are particularly recommended, and diners can enjoy a whimsical, storybook atmosphere (sometimes even accompanied by a fluffy toy rabbit at the table)." - James Wong

If you are into children's literature, the classic Peter Rabbit should be familiar. The owners of the cafe did a good job of recreating the experience. They have the Japanese version of the books if you want to read them. There's also a toy rabbit at each table. That is so cool. Both the food and service were excellent. While not too healthy, the food was sweet and delicious. Good job everyone at Peter Rabbit Garden Cafe.

The restaurant is very well themed and the food is pretty good. We had the meat pie and tea set. The pie was okay, a little greasy but the flavors were mostly good. The pastries were very well baked though, and the macaron was excellent and the perfect crunch texture. The rose tea was mild and relaxing and I appreciated that they gave you a timer for it. Even though it was a cold day, the covered patio was warm. Additionally, the restaurant was very well themed, with a Peter Rabbit doll for every table. I will come again.

The experience was welcoming & superb, so glad I made an effort to visit - will return again when am back here. Dining with ‘Peter’ at the table - feels like mystical.

I just had the French toast but my companion had a kid afternoon tea set which I forgot to take pictures of. She liked it a lot. The atmosphere is good and the whole restaurant is decorated with Peter rabbits characters.

I adore Peter Rabbit and all of Beatrix Potter’s writings, and I was so excited to visit for tea. They were all decorated for Christmas (we went in early December), and I loved pointing out the tiny Jeremy Fisher and Jemima Puddleduck to my husband. I even pretended to read from the Japanese translation to our friend Peter. I enjoyed the seasonal high tea which came with a take home plate that looks lovely on my coffee bar. My husband got a meat pie, which he enjoyed and warmed him up too. Each piece of food was a work of art, from the salad with the cut out rabbits made from veggies, to the scones with fresh jam, and the “Roly poly pudding” from Samual Whiskers! Absolutely delightful and I’d love to come back.

I’m a Peter Rabbit fanatic, and I’ve made a special trip here on two separate vacations to Japan. The food is delicious, better than any other themed character cafe. The limited-time menus are always a delight, as they often come with special free gifts like a collectible plate or cup. Be sure to get a scone and jam with whatever you order. They’re divine!

Went there for an afternoon tea. They have a great variety of food. Evening set menu is great, it has just the right amount of sweet, sour and spicy food. I ordered the Peter Rabbit’s Tea Stand (special Tea Stand - British) and it had a mini burger, salad, scone with jam and butter, two more sweets and a chocolate. It was delicious and the portion was enough for one. It comes with a drink which gives you the chance to select your favourite character to be printed on top of your cappuccino and a gift too. They have a picture friendly atmosphere and there’s a book on every table which has the stories of Peter rabbit which you can enjoy while waiting for your food. And a rabbit on every table to take pictures with and enjoy your meal. They give you 90 minutes to enjoy your food once it is served. Overall it was a nice experience.

Google
Fantastic experience in Peter Rabbit Cafe. Ordered the kid's afternoon tea with adult price, the cappuccino with various selection of pattern! Love it, and the environment is so awesome. The shop next to the Cafe is decorated so pretty!

Yelp
When I heard about this cafe I knew it was worth the short trip to Jiyugaoka. Everything is so absolutely adorable but the bonus is that the food here is very good. I got the special carbonara as my main and it came with a blue lemonade cream soda. The carbonara was actually one of the best meals I had during my 5 day stay in Tokyo. I had low expectations for the food since most themed cafes focus less on food quality, but was pleasantly surprised. My sister got the Dutch baby style pancake which was very tasty. We ended with the parfait which was also a very nice balance of berries and cream and not too sweet. Latte was cute but not very taste. There's a little store attached where you can buy Peter Rabbit merch, including the dishes they use. The clientele is more local than other character/themed cafe so be prepared to use at least some very basic Japanese phrases and google translate, but they have an English menu and nothing was lost in translation. The waitresses are sweet and dressed in cute gingham dresses. Lots of cute shops in this area to explore after you finish eating.

Yelp
Definitely one of the best themed cafes we did in Japan! It was decorated from top to bottom, and it was just a cozy and homey atmosphere overall

Yelp
Service was excellent and the restaurant was of course clean and very cozy and welcoming. We were actually looking for a true rabbit cafe and stumbled upon this spot. Adults and children , think age 2-12, will love this place. I had the French toast and it was great. Cappuccino with choice of mug?!? Yes please . We will be back ! Worth a trip out of Tokyo, mochi across at the walk thru mall by train !

Yelp
Went here on a holiday and was able to get a table just fine (although it was after lunch hours so it may be different for you). The cafe was incredibly cute and the ambience was definitely worth going to see. The food wasn't very notable, not bad but not amazing. It wasn't too expensive but I thought the drinks were a little pricy. I had an eggplant dish, but next time I definitely want to try one of their sweet dishes. My friend had the strawberries and French toast dish ( that looked really good).
