i started coming here about a month ago and i think it's one of the best decisions i've made recently.
firstly, it's a great workout - LOTS of cardio, tough strength training, instruction in boxing technique, and plenty of drills to target your abs/core. you'll be under constant direction from a trainer. if you show up and work hard you have no choice but to get in shape. punching bags, jogging, yoga-like stuff, weights, pull-ups, jump rope, medicine balls, partner drills, etc. don't worry, you'll feel it in the morning.
secondly, it's fun as shit. i'm relieved when class ends, but within a few hours i'm looking forward to going back. work my ass off under instruction from professional trainers while i get to punch a lot of shit and listen to loud rap music knowing i'm getting a great cardio workout and whole body strengthening? how can you go wrong? plus the trainers are cool. and there's really no "i'm the toughest guy in the gym" kinda attitude like you get at other places. there's definitely a core group of regulars, but everyone's pretty friendly.
i guess the bottom line is that i used to lift/run at my old gym but here i get a much better workout AND i look forward to coming. plus i'm much more adept at fist fighting. which is a nice little bonus.
