My family has been coming to Peter Fish and Chips at the Gold Coast since 2012, and it remains one of our favorite spots for fresh seafood. Their calamari and scallops are always delicious, and the fresh prawns and blue crab are a must-try! We also love buying salmon head and frame for our homemade hotpot, which is always fresh and tasty.
The recent renovation of the outdoor area has really improved the space. It’s much nicer and cleaner now, making it a great spot to sit and enjoy your meal. Highly recommended !!!

Peter's Fish Market is a must-visit for seafood lovers! The seafood is incredibly fresh, cooked to perfection, and served in generous portions. Whether you're after classic fish and chips or fresh prawns and oysters, everything is top-quality and delicious.
The location near the water adds to the experience, making it a great spot to enjoy a casual meal with family and friends. Be prepared for a bit of a wait, especially during peak times, but the food is well worth it.
If you're in the area and craving fresh seafood, Peter's Fish Market is definitely worth checking out!

Peters Fish Market, located in Main Beach on the Gold Coast, is a well-known seafood spot that attracts both locals and tourists. The market-style eatery offers a wide selection of fresh seafood, including fish, prawns, calamari, and oysters, which customers can purchase raw or have cooked on-site. Many visitors appreciate the ability to choose their own fish and have it prepared to their liking, making it a customizable dining experience.
The location near the water adds to its appeal, providing a relaxed and casual atmosphere where diners can enjoy their meals with a view. Customers often praise the freshness of the seafood and the generous portion sizes, making it a great option for those craving an authentic seafood feast. The fish and chips are particularly popular, with crispy batter and well-cooked fish being standout features.
However, due to its popularity, Peters Fish Market can get quite busy, especially during weekends and holiday periods. Some visitors mention long wait times for orders and difficulties finding seating during peak hours. While most reviews highlight the quality and freshness of the food, a few customers have commented on inconsistent service or high prices compared to other seafood places.
Overall, Peters Fish Market remains a favorite for seafood lovers looking for a fresh and delicious meal by the water. It’s recommended to visit during off-peak hours if you want to avoid crowds and enjoy a more relaxed dining experience.

Great fresh seafood in a very casual outdoor eating space. Basically a fresh seafood and fish market where they will cook your selection or you can select from a menu. All the seating is outside so can be quite warm! No liquor license so only soft drinks or water. Had to ask for utensils- was given a spork. Tartar sauce is extra charge but the prices are very reasonable and the food came piping hot. You place your order, they give you a number and you collect your food in a paper bag when they call your number! We will go back again. Very casual but excellently prepared fish and seafood!!

A compulsory visit if you’re at the Gold Coast. Have been eating here for as long as I can remember, including introducing my kids years ago. The fish is always amazing with options to choose your own fish to cook onsite. Plenty of seating for you to sit and enjoy with friends and family. The photos don’t do it justice. If you are looking for a place to dine on the coast, Peters Fish Market is the place to go!

Service: The staff is very friendly, quick, and efficient. It doesn’t take long for the food to be ready, and they call your number to pick up your order. With a lot of staff working together in the galley, the process is smooth and well-organized.
Cleanliness: The restaurant is fine nothing special. The seafood counter is always topped up with ice to ensure the seafood stays fresh and cold. However, they only offer outdoor dining.
Food: The portions are very generous and worth the price. As an Asian who isn’t used to eating fries, I appreciated that they offer steamed rice and gravy as an additional option. The fried food is served hot, but the lobster I ordered with mornay sauce, while tasty, was a bit cold, which was quite disappointing. Also, the dipping sauce is a separate purchase.
Overall: It’s very worth it! I traveled all the way from Brisbane 2 hours by train and bus just to try the food. One suggestion for the restaurant would be to ensure the lobster is served warmer for customers, but other than that, you guys are doing an absolutely great job!

Maybe because it was sold at the fish market, it felt fresh.
I discovered it during my trip to Sea World, and I heard that Fish N Chips is famous, so I took some time to came here.
In fact, at first, I was surprised that it was such a small market.
But the view in the front is so pretty that I'm glad I came.
I ate special1 and it was fresh and delicious.
But it's not a very special taste, and I think it would have been better if it had been fried a little more.
It was a good experience:)

The seafood is fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive, even during busy times. However, the outdoor seating area and overall place could use some improvement for a more peaceful and enjoyable dining experience.
