Amazing food with super cute decorations and lovely music. The bread itself tastes so good, very buttery and crispy (please try the cranberry walnut bread!) It goes perfectly well with the creamy sauce from the mushroom ravioli and the duck liver (super tender 🫶🏼) We had 4 baskets by the time we finished the starters. As the menu said, the tequila sunrise key lime pie is the best! The lime sorbet is very refreshing. The cake is flavorful but doesn’t feel heavy. Peter is an amazing chef! The dinner is a highlight of our Cancun trip

This is an amazing family run business! The chef (Peter) is very intricate with his dishes and the presentation is immaculate! The flavors will blow your mind. From the cocktails to the appetizers, main course and desserts. Your pallet will never experience anything like Peter's! You have not come to Cancun until you experience the quality of Peter's! I highly recommend this restaurant!!!!

My fiancé and I traveled to Mexico a couple of weeks ago, and I knew I wanted to venture outside of our resort and the more touristy restaurants. I love supporting local, family owned businesses when I can, and supporting a family restaurant that is as delicious as Peter’s is such an easy decision to make! Peter is the wonderful chef creating decadent art in his kitchen while his wife and son were our lovely servers and friends over the evening. We started with the mushroom ravioli in a truffle cream sauce. I would swim in this sauce; we didn’t leave a drop, choosing to soak up every bit of it with our bread long after the ravioli were consumed. Our main courses were the special of the evening which was a tender, juicy pork chop accompanied by horseradish mashed potatoes, and a vegetable medley. Incredible! We splurged on two desserts, the chocolate mousse and the tequila sunrise key lime pie! Both were amazing and I have no regrets! Peter came out and spoke with us twice about our experience and time in Cancun, as well as to check to make sure we had a cab. We did! The food and ambience were incredible but what is also truly lovely is the care that this family puts into their restaurant and their customers! We hope to return! But, in the meantime, if you’re reading this please do yourself a favor and take a break from the resort fare and go meet Peter and his family. You won’t regret it!

Excellent small little restaurant we stumbled by with great service. Hadn’t made a reservation in advance but they were able to seat us outside which we didn’t mind, and were able to move inside later when there was a table available. Both the steak with vegetables, mushroom sauce and chefs pork was really good. Huge portions and delicious Key Lime Pie.

This place is pure magic ✨ — delicious, cozy, unique, and full of good vibes! The service and presentation are awesome, but the flavor? Out of this world 🌎💥. If I had to pick one last meal before I die, it’d be here… well, and at grandma’s house, obviously

Pure Perfection! We’ve visited three cities in Mexico, and without a doubt, this is the most soul warming and welcoming restaurant that we’ve had the pleasure of dining in. The staff are very accommodating, and friendliness comes without question, almost family like. Our food was absolutely delectable, masterfully crafted by head chef and owner, Peter, who occasionally makes rounds to check in with those dining in his restaurant. The flavors produced in his kitchen are truly unmatched, and take you on a journey all across the globe with every bite. This is easily the most impressive dining experience with the best atmosphere, customer service, and quality/flavor of food that we have personally come across while visiting not only Cancun, but all of Mexico (at least the parts we’ve visited). Absolutely 10/10!

This is a real laid back, old school spot. Nothing pretentious and grand. Impeccable sauces are on all of the dishes with a real family oriented, super friendly service. Peter is very kind.

This is the by far the best place to eat in Cancun. Me and my friend ended up here by chance and we were in for a treat. We started with The soup with shell fish, fish and shrimp was beyond extra ordinary and duck liver which was great as well. For mains we had fish and mashed corn and chicken mushroom both great and very flavorful. For deseert we had key lime and choclate mouse and key lime pie was to die for. Peter worked ar Ritz Carlton, and left the job managing kitchen to cooking since he likes to cook. This is a must visit and is a bit on expensive side but the experience is well worth it

Amazing food, service, and ambiance. We were in the neighborhood and found this place because of all the reviews. Again our Yelp community are on point. This restaurant is fantastic. Although we were not in the mood for a heavy meal we ordered the salad and 2 soups. The seafood bouillabaisse and ginger lime soups were packed with flavor and filling. We ended the meal with the Mexican key lime pie. Amazing dinner. The chefs and owner came out to ask us about our meal too. So intimate a d delightful.

I went online and searched for a nice and couture place. This place had it all!!! The place is very classy with the decorative beautiful space! There's even outdoor seating for those who want the outdoor! Tables!!! The chairs are comfortable, so if you have someone in your group that needs comfortable seating, this is the place for you!!! The staff are soooo wonderful! If you speak English, this the spot where you will get English and Spanish speakers!!! Gosh, the food is beyond AMAZING!!! This was the best place I've eaten in the past 6 months!!! The place is a wonder of Cancun!!! Clean place, clean restrooms and front doo parking.

We were here on vacation from Iowa. We heard about Peter's Restaurant. The Duck is so good. Brisket and Chicken dishes were so good! Our kids were with us and they loved their dishes as well. Peter came out and talked to us too. The staff were great too! Cute small place too!

We had an amazing Christmas dinner at Peter's. Do not be fooled by the location. The food and service are fantastic. Definitely a hidden gem. 10/10!

Wow!!!! What an experience. A true gem. Talk about hiding in plain site. A now local ex-pat friend brought us here for dinner raving about the food. I thought , well maybe just hipe or over enthusiasm, but what a way to get your socks knocked off! First of all an unassuming yet attentive staff and owners tended to our every need and explained the menu in detail. The special, pork chops and foie-gras was literally some of the best I've had. The creamy seafood medley was a taste of heaven on earth as fish chunks along with mussels, shrimp and lobster melted like butter in your palate with captivating flavors creating such a neuronal discharge I didn't know if I was having a seizure or out of body experience! That good! Very few times have I had such a pleasant surprise and you just need to tell the world. So I did.

We felt like we were at someone's home. With granddad in the kitchen, grandma running the dining room, and the rest of the crew helping out. The 6 year old grandson in his pj's brought our dessert menu. Really fun, really unique, really delicious. We'll be back next year. For sure. In a city where there are many half empty restaurants in this area of all inclusive buffets, it's truly super to see a full dining room of people enjoying excellent dishes!

Absolutely fabulous. A small quaint gem in the heart of Cancun. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Expect Peter to stop by your table and make sure everything is great. The food was fabulous and enormous portions. We went on the last day of our trip. Don't go on the last to good not take the leftovers home .

I highly recommend breaking away from the Hotel Zone to have some fantastic European cuisine prepared by Chef Peter. Everything I had was simply excellent. My only regret was not being able to try more items. :) The service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere quiet and relaxed. Well worth the taxi ride.

Excellent food, service and ambience and would highly recommend. Peter has come out to our table to introduce himself each time we have dined here. First year I went, I couldn't decide on something I would like to try and after talking through my personal likes and dislikes, he actually personalized a dish for me so I could enjoy the experience with my family and friends. This year, I discovered that, after I got out of the taxi, I had left my phone in the taxi. Our server, Eddie, took charge right away, got my information and made phone calls. I was reassured that my phone would be at our resort when we got back that evening, and it was! Took a potentially stressful situation/evening and completely eased my mind. Kudos to both Peter and his staff on caring about their patrons/customers. We would all highly recommend the food (members of the clean plate club), the attentiveness, and the caring that goes into this restaurant. On our radar for 2024 already! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

A must go to restaurant in Cancun. Delightful owners preparing and serving exceptional food and drinks. Cozy, relaxed atmosphere with food out of this world. Will always eat here when we return annually. Reservations are a must.

I saw lots of recommendations on Yelp. But it's quite disappointing for me. The pasta was too salty，and fish is not quite fresh either.Not good value for money.

ATTENTION FOODIES!!! Peter's is a locally owned small business with AMAZING food. Fresh ingredients, incredible quality, wonderful flavor combinations and attentive, friendly staff. I could not recommend this place enough. It's five star, world class dining cooked with love by Peter himself (We got to meet the chef!). Convenient location between the hotel zone and downtown. It's worth the trip from wherever you're staying (trust us!) or plan a stop in between if you're out exploring for the day. Come hungry and plan to leave uncomfortably full (:

My family and I have been coming to Cancun for years, and we can confidently say this is the BEST restaurant in Cancun! It is family owned and run with Peter as the chef. His wife, son, and daughter in law help to provide amazing and attentive service. Peter makes sure to come out and greet every table. The ambiance is intimate and the food is incredible! I love the mushroom ravioli appetizer and Claudia's salad (named after Peter's wife). Also, the key lime pie is amazing! We make it a priority to visit whenever we come to Cancun!

We found this place from Yelp when looking for a restaurant away from the tourism in the hotel zone. We couldn't be more happy that we made the drive downtown. Friendly service, fantastic food, and quiet ambiance is a great break from the overcrowded feel and mass produced food of every restaurant in the hotel zone. Worth the drive out there, can't recommend highly enough

Food and service is excellent. You will not be disappointed. I had pork ribs but everything on the menu is so good. Try the key lime pie. This is the best restaurant in Cancun. California girl will be back on my return trip to Cancun.

A must try!! Family owned restaurant - Peter - the owner and chef is gracious to meet and greet. Service is the best there is. Food is excellent and a fraction of what you would pay for upscale food like this in the US. We had ravioli - tamarind ribs - smoked salmon - hogfish - pork tenderloins - chocolate mousse - crepe everything was delicious and came out piping hot.

We've been coming to Cancun for 40 years. No question this is the best restaurant we've encountered here. Better book well in advance.

This is one of the best places in Cancun for dinner. Everything on the menu is so so so delicious. Peter is the BEST, he is so friendly and treat each guest special. In this trip, I had a ribeye steak that melted in my mouth I wish Peter's was in Los Angeles but I have to wait each year for my trip to Cancun!!!!

Got the Mushroom raviolis to start and they were wonderful...the pasta was freshly made and not undercooked nor overcooked, the sauce was velvety and delicious and neither distracted from the center of the dish which was the freshly minced mushroom stuffed in the center...a dreamy dish. Had the Lamb Loin on the chipotle mash and an awesome pepper sauce (think French style black peppercorn reduction with a touch of cream.) the accompanying vegetables were seasoned more locally but amazingly complimentary to the lamb and pepper sauce. Had the poached pears and Brie for desert with the Chef's coffee and that was a perfect finish to the night. The wine we selected was a red blend from Argentina and did not disappoint. By far...the best meal we had in Cancun! Cheers to Peter and family, a wonderful dining experience. Cheers!

We tried a bunch of restaurants during our trip to Cancun, from small "hole-in-a-wall" establishments where the staff spoke minimal English, to five-star resort restaurants where a live pianist serenaded us with music during the meal. Peter's was the best restaurant we had the pleasure of dining at and we returned for a second visit right before we left. Quick note about the service: while there were other restaurants where we were treated like royalty, I personally preferred how comfortable it was at Peter's. The service was more personal and attentive without being overbearing. The food: I was impressed by how meticulously each dish was prepared and how consistently delicious everything was. During the two visits, we tried a total of 9 things on the menu, and each one was carefully crafted to please our palate. Chef Peter's style favored using many layers of light flavors to enhance the natural taste of the ingredients. With each bite of the food, you would taste the initial flavor of the sauce, which led to secondary and tertiary flavors, which then gave way to the freshness of the food. Everything melded really well together, with certain ingredients sometimes being highlighted, but nothing ever overwhelmed other flavor profiles. For certain dishes, the aromas would also linger in your esophagus, and with each breath there was a pleasant aftertaste. I also wanted to specially call out the pork tenderloin. There's a reason why the first page of the menu highlighted this dish in particular. The pork was so tender that the texture was somewhat reminiscent of duck. If there's one thing you need to try, it's this one. Will definitely return on our next trip back.

I got a coupe recommendation of this restaurant, and came to here in same day, the food are so great! Smoked salmon, seafood noddles, and mushrooms,... , must come restaurant!

I usually rely on Yelp or Trip Advisor for recommendations for a great restaurant. All I can say to those reviewers is THANK YOU! From the start, this has been a gastronomic masterpiece. Chef Peter, thank you! Not only for your food, but all you brought to our table, including your presence. Ambiance, presentation and service was incredible, as well. Anyone coming to Cancun, I highly recommend breaking away from the hotel zone and coming to this gem in Downtown Cancun!

Wonderful dinner tonight at Peter's. Several of us had the Hogfish on polenta and others had the pork tenderloin. Everything delicious including the desserts. I highly recommend.

I was ready to have a great experience after reading all the reviews from TripAdvisor and google but let me tell you- I was not ready for the whole package. Starting from the hot starter, service, care, main dish and dessert and ending with all personal approach where you meet the chef as well! I went with all the favorites and had chocolate mousse for the dessert and key lime pie to go

So accommodating and beyond amazing food. Staff welcomed us in 30 minutes before opening without a flinch. Great wine selection and the specials were to die for. Everyone in our party (table of 8) cleared their plates and still had dessert. If you don't go, you are missing a wonder of Cancun.

Found this great restaurant while on vacation. The food is fantastic, as is the coziness of the restaurant. Both Peter and his son were very cordial. It was a pleasure to speak with each of them. If you enjoy fresh quality food cooked with love then this is your place. Had the Steak, and the salmon. Loved both. The tequila key lime lime was a nice finish. The chocolate mousse was perfect. Enjoy. We will visit again soon. It was a very memorable experience.

Peter's was amazing! From the ambience to the staff and of course the chef Peter. The food was cooked and seasoned to perfection! The desert was to die for! The drinks were amazing and for the price you can't beat! We literally went two days in a row! If your ever in the area you should definitely stop in, you won't be disappointed!

Came back to Cancun for a week so I decided to give this place another try, the food was extraordinary, started with the wild mushroom ravioli, as delicious as I remembered, for the entree I had the salmon with a delicious lemon cream sauce and sauteed vegetables on a bed of mashed potatoes that had a hint of spice, all the flavors worked so well together and I thought there was no way I could finish this large entree but it was so delicious there was no way I could stop eating till every drop was gone... This place is a must stop every time I'm in Cancun

delicious! stopped by on my last day in Cancun and it was definitely my favorite meal there. I had a big group and the staff was able to quickly accommodate for all of us. I got the local fish and it was unlike any other I've ever had. Peter came out after we all got our food to check in and make sure everything was up to our standards, which I thought was a great touch. Great experience! My friends also loved their salmon and pork dishes.

This was a new try for us and omg what a great choice. Service was exceptional, the food was out of this world, and the prices were great!! The chef and owner Peter came out and stopped at every table to greet and check on everyone. What a classy guy and so was the staff. I can't say enough about this place. It was just perfect. I really don't know how else to describe it :) The food was incredible and they made me feel very comfortable as an American in Mexico with embarrassingly little ability to speak Spanish. Perfect food, perfect drinks, Peter came and introduced himself. 10 out of 10. Hell, 11.

Wow...all I can say really is just wow. My bf and I were just honestly blown away by the flavors and how everything tasted so LUXE. We didn't realize that you had to make a reservation so we just walked in, but LUCKILY, someone had just canceled and they were able to squeeze us in! The ambiance was very lovely and the employees were all incredibly friendly. The mushroom ravioli I had to start was honestly one of the best raviolis I've ever had. The pasta was perfect and the sauce was to die for. They gave us a great assortment of breads and you definitely have to use the bread to soak up all of the sauce! I literally cleaned the plate lol! For entrees I had the smoked salmon and my bf got the steak. We were both so satisfied with our meals and could tell it was prepared with expertise and love. We both agreed that the steak was the star of the show that night! The mushroom cream sauce that we ordered with it was literally crack. I wanted to dip EVERYTHING in it Bc it's that good! The salmon was also amazing and you could tell it was very high quality fresh salmon that was cooked to perfection! For dessert I got the key lime pie and it was the perfect end to this amazing meal. It was just the right amount of sweet and sour for me and was presented beautifully on the plate. They also gave us some kind of key lime tequila sorbet on the side in the tall shot glass but it was so POWERFUL my bf and I couldnt take more than just a sip of it. Was literally straight rubbing alcohol lol. Maybe I'm just weak but yea, wish it was a little less alcoholic and more sorbet. Overall, if you're in Cancun you HAVE TO GO HERE. This was honestly a lot better than all those fancy restaurants that I see here at home in DC. Peter actually came out himself to check up on us and you can really tell that he loves what he does and cares about each of his customers. I'm not surprised he has a perfect 5 star streak on yelp, it was truly an amazing experience.

This is the best way to end my vacation at Cancun We had spent 5 days in pdc and 1 day in Cancun just for this meal. What we had was amazing everything tasted the way they supposed to. Staff were lovely take care of us really well Recommend to everyone I know

Peter's is amazing!! Small and intimate and a must if you are in Cancun! We took the bus and weren't sure of the exact location but so glad we stayed with it because Peter's knocked it out of the park! Service is fantastic and Peter made his way to our table. I asked him to surprise me with his recommendation and it was to die for! Everything we had was delicious down to the coffee with their own brandy and chocolate mousse for desert. Do not miss the opportunity to eat here!!!

Our expectation was pretty high, given the raving reviews on Yelp, etc. Happily, Peter's met our high expectation. It is not a place to look for exotic local flavor. What it offers is European cuisine with Mexican touch and a fine dining experience. We had La bouillabaisse and Hogfish. Both were cooked to perfection. The dining room was nicely decorated. The staff (family members?) warmly greeted us. I felt guilty of not having tipped more, but we will come back.

Yes, yes and yes. Glad I traveled far and wide to get to this place. I left from the convention center area of the hotel zone, but in traffic it took about 35 minutes via bus R1 or R2. Otherwise, it would've been closer to 15-20. Once you get off it's a really close walk. It's to the right of a shopping plaza and kinda across from a gas station. Very small and inconspicuous spot so keep your eye open for it. Anyway...on to the food and service. We came in a slow Thursday night and had the whole restaurant to ourselves. We started off with the mushroom ravioli and the sauce was DRINKABLE!!! It was served with home made bread that was perfect for getting every drop. Next, my bf got the ribeye (14oz) & I got the smoked Salmon. Both were very, very good. We would've liked for his steak to be medium, per request but it was rare. We enjoyed it anyway. My salmon was PERFECTLY cooked. You have to enjoy a hearty smoked flavor because it's pronounced. The accompanying veggies were delightful!!! We finished the meal of with a key lime dessert which was delectable! If I went again I'd try the lamb since I can get steak anywhere (especially as a Texan). On top of the amazing food the owner and waiter provided us with A1 service. The owner himself came to take our order and discuss his dishes and the waiter was simply incredible. They even called our cab at the end of the night. Step off of the main strip and go get some world class food from a mom and pop. 4 adult beverages, dessert, appetizer, and bread for $99. It was worth every penny.
