Pete's Fresh Market #7 - Calumet City

Prices are appropriate (and an app is available). The only portion of the stock that I found was slightly higher than I am used to was the sodas, and if you time out what deals are available on a given week, you probably won't notice this significantly. Selection of produce is clean, well stocked and the temperatures in the cooler are exactly where they're supposed to be. Similarly, when I visited the meat sections, the cuts were all fresh, properly sliced, properly sealed and the coolers were at and below the needed temperature. As a former butcher's assistant, I am aggressively picky about my meat departments and will refuse to shop in grocers where I find these lacking. I found nothing inappropriate about what I saw here, and the prices are what I expect in 2024. Overall, the selection of goods is much larger than I expected in a local grocer, which was a pleasant surprise. It is larger than I'm accustomed to in Detroit and there's plenty here to choose from. If you're going to shop here, get the app and use that to keep abreast of current prices/deals. Please keep in mind, however, that the pharmacy is a little thin, so this is not a first choice for medications.

Been around for awhile now. Highly recommend if your close by or live in the area. Even if your visiting definitely should go support. Great business and atmosphere. Very clean and safe. Employees are well put and organized. Understands the true meaning of customer service. Products are always neat and well put. Produce is always top tier. Save to consume and get your local groceries if you ask me.

I love this Pete's! I'm from Wisconsin and we travel here for there homemade sausage. Very delicious. The store is always stocked and clean. The staff are very helpful. The hot foods is very tasty.

Pete’s Fresh Market, located in Calumet City, sold me molded and outdated food. This isn’t the first time this has happened. I was just there a few days ago to purchase Beyond Burger patties and had to put it back in the fridge because the expiration date was expired. I would definitely recommend double checking because someone could get sick.

Great market, got everything from organic to not, even seeded fruit. Plenty of other vegan food! They even serve fully cooked meals! Just wish they would get more electric handicap carts.

I’ve been coming to this Pete’s location for years and have never had a problem. I’m checking out with Andru T. and the lady in the picture starts running behind me like she’s on some kind of drugs screaming as I’m getting back in line acting crazy her hate card showed today working in this neighborhood as well not the first time I’ve seen her do this but the attack was real. Y’all food might spoil in a day or two FDA needs to be in there asap be careful. So everyone is looking as I’m walking back in line to pay for my groceries. I’m disputing my charges because this was the worst treatment ever. Then the workers don’t speak English to help you overall worse experience.

The market I'd very clean and well lit. The shelves are well stocked and organized. Their groceries seems fresh and tasty. Their only set back is the very long lines and they seemed to have had every line opened for business.

Pete’s is a really nice grocery store. They pretty much have everything you could want. Once you get passed the fact its in an area that’s not considered “safe” you will be presently surprised. The vegetable section is massive and filled with every kind of green leafed vegetable and fruit you could imagine. They have a great cold cut meat and cheese section.They also have homemade sides like slaw and beetroot salad etc. There’s also a great looking sushi section where they make it fresh in front of you. And after all this there os the meat section and the frozen food section and of course canned food and boxed food. There is also fresh made bread and donuts,cakes,cheese cakes and flowers and last but not least they have a massive liquor section. Finally the staff are helpful and check outs are always fast and ladies there are friendly.Try it out and you won’t. Be disappointed
