Super location in the beautiful old town. Very easy to find. Moments from La Rambla and the cathedral. Room was very quiet considering how central the hotel is. Quadruple room was spacious enough for our family of 4. Bunk beds and an extra large double bed. Tea making facilities were provided, also a shaving kit and toothbrush in the bathroom were very thoughtful additions. Bathroom looked smart and well fitted out, though looked like it had had heavy use. The hotel has a gorgeous garden behind. The bar and restaurant made use of the first section. Up some steps was the most lovely secret garden which was lit up at night. A true oasis in the centre of such a busy city! We would not hesitate to come back when we return to Barcelona.

Petit Palace is a wonderful Hotel in a perfect location in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. It is very clean, quiet, with a beautiful atmosphere. The garden is a quiet oasis in the middle of a very busy tourist area. The breakfasts were delicious with a variety of choices. We enjoyed coffee and sandwiches in the hotel restaurant. |The only suggestion we have is that hand rails should be available in the shower to help guests avoid falls. |Service was impeccable! The restaurant and front desk staff were so polite, welcoming and accommodating. A special thank you to Ana and Peter for all their help and kindness! |We will definitely be coming back again!!

We loved this little hotel. The courtyard was beautiful and relaxing, location perfect, the restaurant and breakfast were delicious, and the staff was amazing! When we were there, a nearby road closure made it difficult for a taxi to pick us up so one of the staff members grabbed our bags and carried them out to La Rambla where she hailed a taxi for us manually! The room was small but clean, and the AC worked just fine. Only note was the bathroom needed a little bit of a touch-up- there was some black spots in the shower grout, and the sink was a little loose. Those small things aside, we had a wonderful stay and would choose this hotel again.

Located at the one of best locations in Barcelina, it offers everything a Turist for a short trip needs. The Atmosphere in and outside hotel is great. Even it is placed in a very crowdy place, we havent heard anything coming from outside, it was so calm. Service was at it best, epecially our guy at the desk, Peter. He was so friendly and helpfull, but not just him. Just have to thank them for making us a pleasent stay.

We stayed four nights at this hotel and we saw since the beginning how other people were getting welcomed and we were skipped every time while others get a tour and worm welcome and all the benefits explained and even taking them to their rooms, we just got our key cards and told us what was our room number and what elevator to take, we included breakfast and every time we went there we saw again how everyone was getting welcomed and offer omelets and pancakes to their tables and asked them if everything was okay or if they needed anything, even if their room was not included and guess what we got, just a cold good morning and nothing else, we were skipped every day no matter what, we never got anything and the same happened when we left, we saw other people getting asked about everything, if everything was okay if they had any issues or if they need a taxi, we didn’t get anything not even a good bye, the worse hotel experience maybe they just don’t like young couples, we felt unwelcome , and now the room, we got the room where two small beds were put together to make a queen or king size bed but the mattress were moving all the time that we had to sleep separate, the mattress was so hard that I still have pain from it. The room was clean but everything felt old and dirty.

We stayed here for 4 days and nights. I’ll start with the positive: location of the hotel is fantastic and most of the staff were friendly. The middle garden area was nice. The negatives: * They didn’t have the room we originally booked, but they gave us a different room with an additional bed, so not terrible, but still not what we booked * a/c was not working when we came, so they put a small machine in the room (that was leaking water) after we spent the night without a/c. It took a full 24 hours after we received that unit for the room to get to a comfortable temperature * shower did not have any cold water from the start and they did not have it fixed until near the end of our stay. I usually shower in really hot water, so can withstand a lot. But the only options were “really hot”, or “scorching hot” where I couldn’t even stay in it for more than a second at a time. You can imagine how this felt after walking around in the hot summer temperatures all day. We told the hotel staff the cold water wasn’t working and they sent someone up while we were out and said it was fixed. It was not, and by the time we returned, the maintenance guy wasn’t available, so we again showered in the scorching hot water for the day/night. At some point, we told a staff member this and she said she’d send someone up but she never did as we waited in the hotel room for hours. The following morning, we told a different staff member this and she said she could send someone when we came back for the day so we could all look at it together. We eventually figured out the knob was stuck so they sent maintenance to loosen it so we could turn the knob over to the “cold” side. * they charged us for breakfast when we checked out after we were told breakfast was included when we checked in. We had been going to the breakfast almost every morning under the impression that it wasn’t an additional cost from what we already paid. Though the breakfast was good for the price and convenience, we felt we were misled. Overall, we would not recommend this hotel.

Google
A lot of good & not so good experiences. When checking in I thought the representative was very cold and not really interested in welcoming me. The initial room I was provided was much smaller than I anticipated, although it was probably the size I had reserved. A few minutes after being checked in I received an email asking me my experience so far. I presumed this was a typical survey email and would just be reviewed at their next meeting. I WAS VERY WRONG ! a few minutes after responding to the email, I received a call from the front desk, saying they were concerned the room was not to my liking and they would move me to another room. THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF TOP CLASS SERVICE, especially as I didn’t ask/want to be moved, I was just commenting on my impressions. The room was very comfortable and everything worked well. Breakfast was a typical Spanish breakfast, with more than enough options to start the day. The only negative, the bacon was 90% fat, 10% meat and ‘floating’ in oil 🤮 Overall I would return, but I’d make sure I purchased a suitably sized room. The day after leaving the hotel I realized I had left my medication in the room. My initial enquiry resulted in a ‘sorry we found nothing’. I responded that I was very disappointed in this, as I knew I left them in the room. Again, some stepped up and personally checked with house keeping, only to be told they did have my pills. I then collected them later that evening as I was returning to Barcelona. Without this high quality of service, I thought the hotel was average for the price paid. But knowing they employ people who care, I would return.

We stayed 5 nights at Petit Palace Boquería Garden and absolutely loved it! Our room was really spacious, the bed super comfortable, and the bathroom with the rain shower was just perfect. Breakfast was a real treat – from cold cuts, cheese, fruit and veggies to scrambled eggs, cereals, fried eggs, and even pancakes or omelets made to order. There was something for everyone, and everything tasted great. What really made the difference, though, was the staff. They were so friendly and helpful, and genuinely made us feel welcome and cared for. All in all, I can’t recommend this hotel enough! It’s right in the heart of Barcelona, in a beautiful neighborhood, and only steps away from the metro.

Yelp
My review is specifically about the conditions of the hotel as the staff was extremely friendly and helpful! That said the hotel itself was absolutely awful and would definitely not recommend to anyone. The toilet didn't work for two of the four nights and we had to use the lobby restroom, AC was old and didn't work properly, electrical didn't work for a day and the phone didn't work as well.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel just off Las Ramblas. The staff from the front desk through the daily breakfast treat you like a guest in their homes. The rooms are immaculate and large. Breakfast is delicious and everything is fresh. The best of all is Pedro Abellan at the front desk. He arranged tours for us, got me a rented wheelchair from a local business, and was available to address any needs we had. I highly recommend this hotel for location, comfort, and most of all quality of service.

Yelp
We arrive very early due to our over night flight . Of course we couldn't get into our room till 3 pm . They were nice enough to take our luggage and we walked around to grab food . Around 2 we got to check in. They told us ppl before us had broken the shower door and they would come and fix it tomorrow. That didn't happen this was just a minor issue . The hotel is at great location . Close to everything . Staff were friendly. I didn't get to do breakfast there but we did use their patio bar . Great drinks !

Yelp
Spent one night here on a quick trip to Barcelona and would not recommend this place at all. When you book the room they ask for your arrival time so they can have your room ready. I advised them of 11am. We arrived there around 10 and asked when we would be able to check in and they said not until 3pm. even worse they don't have a proper waiting area just a restaurant. After much persistance and checking back with them they had a room ready for us at 11:30am. The room had a King bed and set of bunk beds and while it was plenty big the bed was hard as a rock and the pillows were paper thing so had to stack together. The shower would not stop running, we called someone to fix it and they came in, looked and said they were going to go get the tools to fix. Get a call from the front desk they have no tools to fix it so we just left it running. The bathroom door also had no lock on it. Why in a room made for four they think people wouldn't want to lock it is beyond me. As far as the neighborhood it is in a decent neighborhood with lots of touristy stands and such. Plenty of shops and places to eat. It's biggest selling point is probably being a 2 minute walk from the Mercat de la Boqueria, but that gets old pretty fast so I wouldn't book based just on that.

Yelp
Beware of this hotel. Especially if you're an international traveler. We are from the US and we booked this hotel on January 10, 2023 for a stay in June of 2023. We needed to cancel only 16 days later because we are not going to be there until 2024. They refused to help us at all. They wouldn't cancel the reservation, they wouldn't modify the reservation, they wouldnt do anything. They were impossible to deal with and very difficult to get on the telephone. Do yourself a favor and book with a more consumer friendly company. This one will take your money and run, regardless of whether you tried to cancel 5 months in advance.

Yelp
Such a great place right in the middle of it all. The staff was so warm and helpful. When my party of 8 arrived our rooms were not quite ready yet but the friendly staff offered to take our luggage so we could go out to grab dessert and coffee. When we came back and checked in they upgraded one of our rooms and had hand written welcome notes with chocolates waiting in our rooms. So sweet of them! One of my friends is a new mama which meant she had to pump milk for her child (that was not on this trip). Javier and the front desk staff was able to store all of her milk in the fridge every time she expressed milk. They were so accommodating! A couple of negatives *our bathroom shower only had a half glass door and no curtain to cover the rest of the open space. When we showered water would splash everywhere and we had to use all our towels to clean up the mess. *the heater didn't work so the staff had to bring us a couple of plug in ones that were just ok not hot. *Shout out to Igor at the bar as well ;)

Yelp
My stay started off poorly. After a full travel and work day and skipping a night of sleep, I checked in and wanted only one thing...a hot shower. I unpacked my suitcase and went in for it. Hot water. Only hot water. F**king really hot water. Could not get the temperature down. Called maintenance who tried, then called the front desk. I was told I needed to come to the front for another room key. How about this: you bring me a new key, and have haul all my stuff to the new room. An hour later and I was showered and in bed. The rest of my stay was fine. Breakfast is worth the €15. The bartender was great. The courtyard was really nice. Staying for 10 nights for business was too long. A more quiet place catering to business travelers would have been smarter on my part. La Rambla is right outside, which is very touristy. However, you can get to Gothic quarter or Born very easily. Not bad, but not great either.

Yelp
We enjoyed staying here three nights. Close to The Metro station Leuci on Las Ramblas and lots of small shops near by of interest. A great location from which to explore Ramblas, Barri Gotic, the Boqueria Market, and all of Barcelona. The hotel has a good cafe, though the delightful buffet breakfast is 16€ (13 If ordered the night before). A nice garden to relax with drinks. Everything was up to date and worked fine except for the thermostat in our room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great value. A nearby grocery La Fuente on Ferran #20 can supply food, snacks, and beverages very cheap.

Yelp
We stayed at the hotel for one night in April 2019 before our cruise. The staff was amazing and extremely helpful. The breakfast for 13 Euros per person was also nice. The room was very good. The main issue was no AC in the room. Seriously?? The temperature was mid 60s F during the day, which is not that hot, and mid 40s F during the night, but our room was close to 80F. When we initially came in, I noticed the room was very hot. The thermostat dial was set to the lowest setting at 5C. That should have been my warning sign right there! The gentleman who delivered our bags asked me if I want an AC unit to be brought in. I considered it, but he assured me that I don't need it as temperature will go down in the night and it will be cool. Well, the temperature went up in the room during the night despite an open window. The staff told us that the room should have had a "neutral" temperature and they will fix it. But we had no sleep. I honestly would ask someone come in and fix it during the night but we had two kids sleeping in bank beds who were exhausted after all the travel and jet lag. In the morning, the windows inside our room were all fogged up from the condensation. See picture. The other issues were: zero USB ports in the room, so we could not connect any of our iPhones and iPads to charge, glass bathroom entry door that does not lock and makes a lot of noise upon closing, all tile floor in the room which is not very pleasant on your bare feet. Feel bad giving this hotel a low rating as staff was extremely helpful. But we should not be dealing with AC issues during our stay and, come on, install USB charge ports in the room for US travelers.

Yelp
We stayed for one night before our cruise. This hotel was clean and modern. Our room was large and beyond our expectations. While this hotel isn't 5 star caliber we didn't pay 5 star prices. We were very happy for what we got for the price and that's why I gave it 4 stars. The internet was fast enough to stream game 6 of the National League Championship. We managed to control our screams when the Chicago Cubs won. Go Cubbies! We found great gelato right next to the hotel and the metro stop is right in front of the hotel as well. It was very convenient. We were not fans of the crazy crowds on the La rAmbla on a Saturday night. It was overwhelming for us. Because of this we would probably choose to spend our next stay away from the area. Otherwise I would have no problem staying at this hotel again.

Yelp
Rented 2 rooms on March 22, 2023, for one night. Shortly after check-in, we noticed the rooms were hot and smelly. I contacted the front desk. They said all the A/C units were turned off. They only turned them on during the summer and that we had to sleep with the windows opened. It was a hot day and both rooms were hot inside. I asked them I wanted a refund ($250 per room) so we could stay at a different hotel with A/C. They refused, even after I explained to them that we had small children. I contacted Expedia and asked for assistance. At around 11 pm, they offered us rooms at a different hotel 10 minutes away. It was too late already to make the change at that time. We had no choice but to stay in hot rooms with open windows and loud noise from the alleyway. The next day, management tells me they did everything in their power to solve the problem. Not! There is no accountability. Terrible experience. Pay more and stay at a better place.

Yelp
We got the room, too noisy and smelled really horrible! Talked to the manage and she was pretty nice, and changed our room! A little better! Honestly, although its kinda centered and close to metro , but I was disappointed with the location, it was absolutely not somewhere I expected! The only think I liked about this hotel , was the breakfast which was good actually!

Yelp
What a great experience we had here during our stay in Barcelona. As you enter it has this very distinct scent, reminds me of when you walk into the Cosmopolitan at Vegas. Super friendly staff and a very clean place right next to La Rambla. Rooms were decently sized with all the usual amenities. Restaurants and bars are all within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again whenever I return.

Yelp
Wow... talking about good location. This hotel is really great for people who would like to stay where everything happens. Just of The Rambla as Lee H. rightly put it. I would also add just 100 meter from metrostation "Liceu". It is located where the old city of Bardelona starts - with narrow pedestrian streets, small shops and restaurants. The standard in the rooms are quite good. It is modern style, very plesant bathroom, spacy room (to be in the sity center), and nice interior. I was quite surprised to find a laptop in the room as a part of the standard equipment. It is connected to wired network. Additionally, you get a free WIFI connection for you Ipad as well. You may rent a bike for free (only deposit) from the hotel, they have free guided tours (2,5 hour) every day at 10:50, nice breakfast. If you are not a fan of riding bus or metro to where it happens, please consider this hotel as one good option.

Yelp
Could not ask for a better location. Walking distance to many shops and restaurants. The walls however are quite thin and you can hear everything that's going on in the hallway outside your door. A friend of ours stayed in a room on the first floor alley side, he asked to move the next day as it was just so noisy. Hotel was very accommodating and moved him to another location. The rooms are larger than I expected but do not have built in closets. A wardrobe cabinet with two shelves and some hangers. No drawers to put your other belongings. Bathroom has a nice shower but only half enclosed so expect the floor to be quite wet when you step out. No real extra conveniences, but all the things necessary that you need. Laptop in the room is nice but I couldn't get it to connect to the internet.
google avatar

Juanita C.

Yelp
Main downfall which made me give 2 stars. When making reservations I asked to get a room at 11am. When I arrived they wouldn't give me a room until the exact check in time. They had a few other people including myself waiting around because they claimed to not have any rooms until the exact check in time. This is ridiculous.

Yelp
We stayed here early this week, this hotel has a GREAT location, in the middle of numerous local stores and amazing restaurants and Cafes. Our room was spacious, facing the street, loved our view. All the people working here were amazing, courteous, friendly! Our second day staying here, this gentleman that works in the front desk went out of his way to call this local store that I forgot my scarf. He googled the store name to find the phone number. He called and solved the problem! He was super helpful and I was able to get it in the next day! Now, speaking about their Breakfast, AMAZING!!! Everything was delicious and the variety was enormous, and you will find all the food that is very traditional, (make sure you try it all) lol it will be impossible, cuz the variety won't fit in your stomach! Btw, food in Barcelona is spectacular and this hotel didn't disappoint it either! BTW, another part that I also enjoyed in this hotel was that they provide bicycles (for free) to ride around the city! What a nice experience!!!

Yelp
While this is a cute little hotel, it's not exactly 4 stars, more like a 3 stars. I booked a 4 person room and it was much smaller than the pictures from the website. I suppose this is because of the layout. The room Was clean but it was at the end of the hall and we can hear everyone in the hallway. The worst part was when the room next door let's their door slam shut, it makes this Big Bang that wakes us up since our bed is right where the hallway ends. So I upgraded to a 4 person apartment hoping to get a better and bigger room. Well the staff was super nice and friendly. He walked us to our room which was very nice of him. But now I know why he walked us there cuz there's no way I would be able to find it on my own. It goes through the garden and into this door that makes me feel like I'm in the basement. It's kind of Half hidden. The pro, it's quiet but since it's on the most bottom floor I can hear people walking upstairs and all the beds creaks and well as one of the bathroom doors. And both shower drain super slow. The room looks and feels worn. I don't think I will stay here again but if its a good deal for people with large families.

Yelp
In the middle of the hustle and bustle, just off the Rambla, you will find a secret garden only accessible by going through the glass doors of a hotel. Pass the friendly staff at the reception desk, head through the courtyard and you will find yourself in this lovely garden. Take a seat, rest your feet and enjoy the little sanctuary of this secret garden.

Trisha P.

Yelp
Pros: great area, nice furnishings, variety in breakfast buffet options Cons: bed is hard as a rock, but more importantly the front desk is extremely unhelpful. Not sure if this is Spanish culture or not, but I asked different questions about a tour bus on 2 different days and received a snooty answer of "I told you everything yesterday" - client service is clearly not a focus at this hotel. I would love to give this hotel 4 or 5 stars but the people skills of the front desk staff are sincerely lacking.

David I.

Yelp
Found the staff were awesome and so very accommodating even when I had issues with my door key more than once. The rooms were comfortable and a great bathroom the only point is I managed to spray water all over the bathroom as they have 3 showerheads and the one for your back sprays right out of the shower area. They look like they had planned to add a door to the shower but haven't done it yet but maybe should. The breakfast was oh so yummy with a great range of treats and classic breakfast options. They have a lovely outdoor area where you can relax during the day and into late in the evening. Their bar is open until past midnight. They also have free bicycle hire for guests but we didn't get a chance to try it out. I would certainly recommend this hotel if you are visiting the city for sure and amazing location. The only downside was the tap in the bathroom leaked all over the floor during the night.

Mandy S.

Yelp
This is THE WORST hotel. It's in a good location but the customer service is the worst I've ever had. They are so rude and they won't do anything to make Your stay better. The cleaning sucks too. Your paying for a 4 star hotel and it treats you worst then a hostel. Don't stay here.

Tom C.

Yelp
I'm curious to know how old the reviews are describing this as a great location. Or if they went out at night. While "strolling thru this quant neighborhood" in the evening, we were hit up by no less than 8 drug dealers. And two of the most persistent hookers imaginable. We were given a room in the quiet part of the hotel, and were kept up all night with people yelling and fireworks. I definitely won't be returning.

Catherine S.

Yelp
Such and cute and chic boutique hotel. Was a little bit difficult and frustrating to find once we arrived, but thats only because I live in LA and we are not used to their beautiful small allies and architecture. They were very nice, let us check in early and were always very helpful. Would recommend this to my friends. The only complaint I do have is about the shower, the way its built is very inconvenient, water is able to leek out, but overall very clean and nice.

Yelp
Quite kept hotel in Barcelona. I liked the most, around the hotel are plenty of shops so I did not have anywhere drivers retire. My husband was glad that our hotel is near many restaurants and bars, so we enjoyed every day. Barcelona Hotel Petit Palace Opera Garden, we had booked online in the winter, because if you book him half a year before you get a discount on accommodation. The room was nice with a beautiful bathroom.
