This historic hotel is full of character and ideally situated for anyone wanting to visit the centre of Madrid.|We stayed for three nights and had a room with a view over the street. The room was very comfortable and, despite the proximity of neighbouring buildings, we had no issues with noise.|All of the staff were very helpful, providing useful information about the best places to visit. When we advised the reception about a minor issue with the room (i.e. we didn't complain) the staff went over and above in responding to, and resolving the issue.|The breakfast buffet is also very good.

Very clean rooms and great staff. Overall very nice hotel with unique atmosphere. And the location couldn't be any better. It's just few steps from Plaza Mayor and in walking distance from all important sights.

The superior rooms are far better than the regular room. We had both during our stay do to a last minute change in dates. The hotel is a good value if booked 2ell in advance. The rooms are large. The bathroom showers are not designed to keep the water in the shower. The air condoms adequate. It does not have a lobby that one would sit in and the breakfast room gets very crowded.

My husband and I spent three nights in this lovely hotel in the heart of Madrid. The room was exactly as expected with plenty of space and a nice large bathroom and shower. The location couldn’t be better, it is in the heart of Madrid, a block from the La Plaza Puerto Del Sol, although it is tucked away from the large crowds so it isn’t too loud. The staff went above and beyond to help us and be accommodating by letting us check in to our room early and with any questions we had. I hope that we get to come back and stay again.

This hotel is average overall and does not really justify its price. Although it has some history, the building feels outdated and poorly maintained. The rooms are very basic and far from comfortable. The friendliness of the staff varies greatly — while some employees were kind and helpful, others behaved rudely. When we arrived, the staff were unresponsive to the issues we raised with our room, and only after we complained were we moved to a slightly better one. Be aware that some rooms (on the first floor) face directly into a local restaurant, with diners’ tables practically inside the room. Rooms on other floors are less noisy, but still very simple. On the positive side, the location is fantastic and the breakfast is nice. Still, overall, there are better alternatives in the area that offer more value for money.

First room provided 111 was extremely noisy from the restaurants next to the room and the air conditioning did not work initially, therefore we could not sleep. We had to call reception at 10pm and they came and reset the air conditioner and said that they would change our room the next day. ||next day our room was changed to 311 and it was much better just by being 2 stories above the first room.||The hotel is very centrally located. steps from Plaza Mayor and the Sol metro station. ||It is a busy area so you expect some noise, but 111 seemed to collect every sound while 311 was reasonably quiet.||Rooms were clean and the staff at reception were friendly and helpful

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Petit Palace Posada del Peine. The location is top notch, with proximity to Plaza Mayor and many coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping. The room, although small (to American standards), was so comfortable. It was also surprisingly quiet considering the location. They offered several amenities, including breakfast, laundry, and toiletries you may have forgotten (toothbrush, shaving kit, etc). Special thanks to Oksana at the front desk who helped me replace my room key a few times after it de-magnetized! Also, thank you for printing some travel docs we needed for our next journey.

We booked a superiori room on the 4th last floor. Unfortunately we had to complain the next day of our arrival for cleaning issues. The posizione is fantastic, next to Plaza Mayor. But just because it is a very ancient yet renovated hotel, windows are not insulated at all. You may hear everything is spoken down in the street-"calle", until early morning, just like if they were next door...Also lighting inside the room is very poor: to open/close the safe, we needed to lighten our portale phone...And no hooks all around the room or the bathroom, impossibile to hangar anything or even our towels. Quality of breakfast not as a 4-stars hotel, missing attention to food intolerance, cheap juices and sweets, poor warm dishes.Definetely not a 4-stars hotel.

Yelp
Great location and excellent staff who want to make your stay great! The location is excellent. Close to everything and right in the center of Madrid. The room was gorgeous! We had terraces overlooking the cute street below. Loved the oversized walk in shower. But the best part was the helpful staff at the front desk. She gave us excellent recommendations for dinner and entertainment in the area and not just for places that she was booking for us. Genuinely helpful, knowledgable and very pleasant. We had a wonderful, romantic stay at this top notch place. Enjoy!

Yelp
We looked at reviews on Booking.com and chose to stay here for a few nights at the end of our trip based on these reviews. Our room was on the second floor but felt like the basement. It was dark, musty smelling, had torn wallpaper everywhere, mold in the bathroom and was not worth the cost we paid (over $200.00 per night for a standard room). The breakfast that people raved about in the reviews consisted of watery eggs, fatty ham, fried rice from the freezer and hard pastries. The coffee was from a machine that you had to stand in line to make yourself and with a room full of guests it was difficult to keep running smoothly. The staff was nice enough but when asked to move to another room we were told they were booked up and didn't see a room opening up any of the 4 days we stayed there. The location was good, although noisy but that's to be expected in the center of it all. We cannot recommend staying here until they renovate and make it worth the cost.

Yelp
I give 5 stars to the staff specially Lara and Joanna, this 2 girls go above and beyond of professionalism! Cleanliness excellent, location incredible everything incredible, pet friendly the only bad thing is the breakfast and the service there, I came with my dogs and asked in a really bad manner to leave my dogs in the room, is incredible being a pet friendly that they asked me that!!! I found near the hotel a told of places where they let you take breakfast or dinner inside with your dogs, please go to the crepes in the back of the hotel or Rollo Ocho to dinner there, just delicious this two places and accept dogs inside!

Yelp
A little Gem right in the center of town, Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. Sandra at the reception was wonderful , very helpful and pleasant. The other two gentleman at the reception were very helpful too. Our room was ready upon arrival at 11.30 am, that was indeed a nice surprise. The room was a bit small, even though we were on the first floor, we did not hear any street noise! They offer free bikes, a nice gesture! The most wonderful shower to be had.

Yelp
Not worth the money. Great location but hotel staff and room maintenance show no pride in their trade. Lights were burnt out, air condition was broken. Free coffee service in the lobby was was out of order for 3 days without and alternative offered. Rooms are not made up after 3.30 because they don't have staff? The decor reflects nothing out of it's history not does it match the location. Too sad.

Yelp
Very Inflexible I have been planning a Spain trip and accidentally booked two rooms for the same night. My husband noticed when I showed him the plans that the 2 hotels have similar names. (I wish I could say I never make mistakes in the online booking process but that isn't true.) I reached out to the hotel in April to request a cancellation and an exception to their policy for a room booked for June. I was hoping that they would understand that we all make mistakes and knowing that there is plenty of time during the high season. But they have been 100% inflexible. I am paying $138 for a hotel room that I can't use and has now totally soured me on this hotel. Perhaps there is a homeless group that could use the room for the night?

Yelp
Reasonably priced hotel in an excellent location in relation to all attractions and transport infrastructure. Modern rooms with internet access in all which is free. I did not eat here. Found the staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again. Recommended for couples

Yelp
This hotel was excellent. Do a great typical spanish Breakfast, and have a coffee machine which makes the best lattes ever! the room was gorgeous, and the shower IS AMAZING! really fab showers, probably the best shower in the world. You had a laptop in the room, with net and a large TV with all the spanish channels. Beautiful place to stay, with a very comfy bed! :)
