We quite enjoyed our stay. Petit Soleil is a cute, charming and welcoming b&b that somehow manageable to also be reasonably priced and not fussy. Room was spacious and comfortable as was the capacious but cozy patio. Breakfast was fresh and delicious and happily, coffee was not an afterthought; the Condesa restaurant was a welcome surprise - cocktails are on point, and plates are fun and flavorful. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and attentive even when busy. We would definitely stay there again!

Check in was a breeze and the staff was so accommodating. My husband and I felt like we were in a small inn in Italy. The rooms were very comfortable and well equipped- especially the bed, We loved the aperitif hour and took full advantage of it. Coffee and breakfast is available in the mornings … but not in the rooms. We were able to park there and if not, across the street. Conveniently located… If we have the opportunity to return to SLO we would definitely stay there.

I stayed at Petit Soleil while visiting San Luis Obispo for my son’s Cal Poly orientation, and I’m already looking forward to many return visits. I’ll admit—I have a high bar when it comes to design and hospitality, and this place exceeded all expectations.||Every corner of Petit Soleil is filled with intentional, charming design touches that made the space feel both elevated and cozy. It’s clear that a lot of care went into creating an experience, not just a stay. From the warm colors to the beautifully curated details, it felt like staying in a French country inn with California soul.||The staff is truly exceptional—genuinely warm, attentive, and present without ever feeling overbearing. Special shout out to Dante, who made our stay especially memorable with his thoughtful service and kind energy. You can feel the heart behind this place, and that makes all the difference.||Petit Soleil is now my go-to home base in SLO. Can’t wait to come back again and again!

My mom and I planned a mother-daughter trip and stayed (4) nights at Petit Soleil and was BLOWN AWAY! Julianne, James, and Hannah, were all amazing staff members who ensured our stay was nothing but amazing. The rooms were so cute. The food was yummy. The outdoors space was perfect for lounging after hikes, and happy hour was our favorite hour! I am going to book again without a doubt.

We stayed here for 2 nights with our 1 year old. The property and room were beautiful and well kept with lovely attention to detail from the furniture to the plants and the decor. The breakfast and appetizer hour were both pleasant and delicious. Staff were consistently attentive and helpful. There is easy parking at the property and it is located a short walk to great cafes, restaurants, and entertainment. I will stay here again next time we visit the area.

Google
Petit Soleil far exceeded my expectations! From the moment you walk into the charming courtyard to the front desk you are greeted with the friendliest staff with the perfect blend of showing interest in you but keeping it professional and efficient. They show you to your room, which they still have actually keys! Loved that so much. And give you a run down of their offerings, like the time of breakfast (included) and their apéritif hour (also included). The room was very clean and had lovely features. The style of the furnishings were so classy and perfect. Love just sitting in my room and getting ideas for my own home decor. The food they served was delicious and house made with the best fruit salad with fruit other than a plate full of melon! And all the pastries were fresh and on point. Such a lovely stay, highly recommend and can’t wait to stay again.

My friend and I stayed at Petit Soleil over the July 4th weekend. It was a great location: we were easily able to walk into downtown SLO and do some shopping. It's also easy access to the 101.||The standouts for me included: the little amenities provided by the hote (aperitif and a tasty simple breakfast), the friendly staff, and the charming style.

Google
We had an overall good stay, and the staff was friendly, but for the price point, we expected better value. The room felt a bit outdated (e.g., a leaking toilet) and lacked some basic amenities like a tea kettle or coffee machine, which are usually standard at this level. Additionally, noise from the room above—especially footsteps—was surprisingly noticeable and disrupted the quiet we were hoping for. The hotel has potential, but a few upgrades and more attention to detail would go a long way in justifying the rate compared to other options in the area.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed at Petit Soleil for a few days during the week of Thanksgiving. The check in process was quick and easy. We arrived just as their nightly apertif hour was ending (6pm), but they still squeezed us in and took our orders after we dropped off our luggage which was so nice. The rooms are newly renovated and decorated beautifully. Our room was equipped with a smart TV that had Netflix and other apps on it which we really appreciated (you do need to use your own logins though). They provided soap, lotion, and bath products that smelled really earthy and luxurious. There were also free sleeping masks and earplugs in the room. This bed and breakfast is dog friendly which was a big reason why we chose it. That said, the rooms are not very soundproof so you may hear some doggies barking during your stay. Keep that in mind if you are sensitive to noise. The breakfast and apertif hour ended up being the highlights for me. The food, charcuterie, and drinks were consistently delicious and tasted fresh. I liked how the menu items rotated daily to keep you from getting bored! Finally, I want to shout out the staff here. They provided excellent service and were always happy to help, whether it was filling up my water bottle with ice cold water or storing my leftovers in their kitchen fridge. Thank you Petit Soleil - I can't wait to be back!

Yelp
our room wasn't particularly large, it featured a comfortable bed and a convenient mini bar setup stocked with pre-made cocktails and non-alcoholic options. The bathroom was spacious, with excellent water pressure in the shower. The provided shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion all worked well for us. Having little experience with bed and breakfasts, I didn't know what to expect from the included breakfast, but I was pleasantly surprised. Breakfast featured complimentary pastries, coffee, and a choice of items from their menu, such as quiche, granola, and oatmeal. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Despite our late arrival after 11:30 PM on a Sunday, the front desk staff checked in with us beforehand and even offered to wait if we were running late. The breakfast staff were equally warm and accommodating. Thank you, Petit Soleil, for a wonderful experience.

Yelp
I love finding these "hidden gem" B&Bs. We got an upgrade to the suite and it was so beautiful. I love the color scheme and gold fixtures. Fireplace, double sink vanity, 3 head shower. What a treat! Located close to downtown, it's a nice walk. Breakfast in the morning was nice. Waking up to the smell of baked goods wafting up to our room, we naturally woke up early to enjoy the fresh pastries and food. All the staff were friendly and attentive.

Yelp
A blissful boutique hotel experience. The room: Elegant interior design with lovely attention to detail, even down to the toilet paper roses. The space was small but not cramped. The lighting was strong and bright. You can buy all their furniture and decor! The walls were thin so you could hear when your neighbors talked. The only thing we did not like was how the AC unit was right above the bed. The food: unexpectedly, our stay included complimentary happy hour drinks and hors d'œuvres, as well as brunch! Everything was delicious, fresh and well-made. It was a dream to wake up to fresh pastries, with tasteful crockery and charming napkins. Their outdoor seating area was quaint and cozy. A true little taste of Europe. Parking was so easy in the small lot out front. Service was friendly and attentive. Check in and check out process was smooth. We will return for sure!

Yelp
OBSESSED with this little GEM!! My husband and I found this little French "bed, breakfast & bar" and it's my literal DREAM! Every little detail of this place is so gorgeous and thoughtful, from the friendly staff to the real keys to the beautiful themed rooms to the insanely-stocked minibars. Every piece was so lovely and I could not get over all the little touches. This will absolutely be our go-to place in SLO and I can't wait to come back!!

Yelp
Beautiful with great service! This was exactly what we needed and the website explained everything we received. We were in a queen room and the bed was so comfortable, the shower green tile was beautiful, and the room frig was very well stocked. We had wonderful conversations with other couples staying there during the evening apéritif hour and an evening walk. It is close to town and an easy walk to food venues. The apéritif hour and breakfast were perfect. Next time we will plan our a stay for more then one night.

Yelp
This is a boutique hotel with all the amenities of a bed and breakfast. It's super CUTE and charming. We loved the decor, the room was quaint but so comfortable and beautiful!! I loved that they offered a complimentary wine hour around 5 pm that included a lovely personal size charcuterie board and a variety of wines/sparkling wine/beer. In the morning offer a complimentary breakfast and a coffee bar with warm fresh pastries. We had a beautiful time sitting in the French inspired patio. The best part is that they are dog friendly and were so sweet to our Aussie. They even offered her a homemade treat! Stay here if you're in SLO! You'll love it!!

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise. This French themed B and B is a makeover of an older hotel. It's cute and it's quaint. Really advise being on the 2nd floor middle. The bottom and end rooms can be quite noisy, especially next to the stteet. We were in room 24, Coted Azure or Coast of Azure. Nice enough room with a king bed, a day bed,and a love seat at the foot of the bed. No bath but gorgeous and roomy shower. There is plenty of hot water, including soaps and shampoos, etc. A/c works with a remote and did the job. Although the temp high was 80* and would have been fine without it. Evening Apertif was a glass or two of wine with an assorted charcuterie plate. It was very nice and pleasant in the courtyard. The waitstaff is very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was very nice with a selection of pastries and coffee, choice of pancakes or fritata or French toast. Very nice waitstaff. Definitely recommend. Parking is next door shared with a cafe. Other shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Yelp
Charming, quaint, rustic, afternoon wine and aperitifs, breakfast in the morning, and dog friendly! There is a lot to like about Petit Soleil! While the property is located off of a busy street, upon entering the courtyard entrance the owners have done a nice job of creating a feeling of a small French Inn. It's a pretty old and small property, but very cute. The dining and courtyard areas are nicely done. Renovations of front rooms were in progress when we were there. There is a small kitchen next to the inside dining area where afternoon snacks and the morning breakfast is prepared. Take a seat during serving hours and the staff comes to you to take your order and serve you. In the afternoon we had a nice little plate of meat, cheese, fruit and nuts, with our choice of wine. Breakfast was a choice of pastries to start, followed by French toast for hubby and a frittata for me. Delicious! Our king room was an easy walk upstairs. It was cute. The room was pretty small, with enough room for a king and a trundle bed. Very small bath. Nice shower. There was a small TV and a refrigerator. Window view was of roof top next door. There's a trick to unlocking the door. Once we figured it out it was easy. Our room was away from the street, so no noisy traffic. Don't stay here if you want luxury and views. Do stay here if you want good service, good value, and need dog friendly. Next time we're bringing our dogs!

Yelp
What a beautiful hotel! The rooms were clean and decorated with the sweetest touches and attention to detail. We had a quick 1 night stay on a road trip back from NorCal and this was such a nice place to stop at on the way. Can't wait to come back next time I visit SLO!

Yelp
Had an absolutely phenomenal girls weekend at Petit Soleil. Hotel was lovely -- quiet property, spacious rooms, expertly curated decor, and had an AMAZING happy hour & breakfast (included with the room!). The pastries were truly to die for; you can't miss the pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Special shout out to Daniella who went above and beyond to make our stay special. She was so sweet, welcoming, warm, and conversational. We will definitely be back!! - B, C, K

Yelp
We loved Petit Soleil!! First, we enjoyed the delightful wine/beer happy hour which was complimentary and included a yummy charcuterie board! We like IPA beers better than lagers so we purchased "There does not exist", a delicious local IPA rather than the complimentary lager. It was raining cats & dogs while we were there so we couldn't sit out on their inviting quaint patio with a fountain, but inside there were many games and decks of cards to play with while drinking our IPAs in their cozy bar/breakfast area. The owner(s) of this B & B have thought of everything to make your room very comfortable including large thick bath towels, plenty of electrical outlets, a soft-close toilet seat, a perfect pressure and placed shower head that my 6'7" husband appreciated, fully stocked mini fridge if you're into that and even a white noise machine for those who struggle with sleep! The mattress was quite comfortable, too and there was a remote for the thermostat so no need to climb out of bed to make adjustments to the temperature! Also, the room was very clean!! In addition to all of the amenities that I listed above, what really made Petit Soleil super special to us were the young people who worked there! Most were students from Cal State University, SLO and the four that we came into contact with were very friendly, extremely accommodating and just interesting to visit with! The complimentary breakfast included large yummy croissants and danishes as well as hot chocolate chip banana pancakes, granola, quiche, fruit cocktail and more! Much, much nicer than your free breakfast at a chain hotel! The staff actually came around and waited on the guests! Again, my hat goes off to the owner(s) as they not only pay attention to the details, but are experts in staffing conscientious, hard working and congenial people which puts this bed & breakfast, Petit Soleil way above others in my book!

Yelp
Such an incredibly charming little bed and breakfast! Located very close to the university and in walking distance of many restaurants and shops, Petit Soleil is a very comfortable and convenient place to stay in SLO. They have a small parking lot that is shared with the restaurant next door. The B&B has two floors and the doors face outward. The first night I stayed in a room near the street on the second floor. It was a little noisier there because of its proximity to the street and the staircase, but other than that the room was very nice. I ran into a hiccup with the hot water. I wasn't getting any in my room. In the morning I let the front desk know, and they explained that the renovations taking place in the room beneath mine had accidentally caused the hot water to shut off. They had someone look into it while I was eating breakfast (which is included each morning, and was VERY good!) and they were able to figure it out. Although the lack of hot water was initially inconvenient, they were able to fix it in time for me to get ready for the day and take a hot shower. Raven was also very gracious and gifted me a bottle of red wine and a souvenir wine glass as a way of making it right. For my second night, I needed to switch rooms. Not because of the hot water issue, which had been resolved but because I needed to add on a second night last minute. The transition was very easy. The staff even had my luggage transferred to my new room while I was at my work event for the day. As promised, there was a bottle of wine waiting for me. My new room I like even better than my first one. It was tucked away near the back of the building this time, away from the street, so it was much quieter than the first night. The aperitif hour in the cafe/courtyard was really lovely. A glass of wine and a plate of finger foods is included with your room. It was the perfect way to unwind after a busy day. It really felt like a little taste of Europe! The staff was again very kind and responsive. The rooms were comfortable and clean. They were well decorated and stayed in the quaint B&B theme. I would definitely like to stay here again, and I think my husband would enjoy this place, too. We could even bring our dog next time, as they are dog friendly. Thanks for a great stay and great service!

Yelp
Very quaint hotel on Monterey St. if you get one of the rooms toward the front of the hotel, I can imagine you would hear the street traffic. We had the fortune of having a room toward the back, near the courtyard. The rooms are small, but cozy. We enjoyed the included daily breakfast, which had varying types of quiche, granola, oatmeal, and various pastries, coffee and tea. We also enjoyed the evening complimentary aperitif in the courtyard. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The location of this hotel makes it very convenient because you are just a 5 minute walk from downtown where there are plenty of places to shop and eat.

Yelp
Nice room and breakfast but do not expect to be able to watch TV if you are over 35. The controller for the flat screen set is minimalist and there is no guide to using the TV in the room. Unless you are a wirecutter with the same setup at home you won't figure it out.

Yelp
We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and just loved it The staff was amazing and helpful with recommendations The breakfasts they offered and happy hour options were very tasty and a nice selection of drinks. Their specialty drinks they offer are off the charts too We took our dog and they offered her healthy treats and everyone including the other guests just loved her so she too had an amazing time

Yelp
Can't recommend this place enough- everything was perfect. The staff was so lovely, the room was so thoughtful and comfortable, the happy hour and breakfast was delicious. The perfect place to stay - only wished I was here longer than one night!

Yelp
Excellent place, staff & setting. Rooms are squeaky clean & oh so cute. Don't miss their breakfast & aperitif. I've stayed here twice & absolutely love it!! You will not be disappointed staying here.

Yelp
Petit Soleil is a charming European-style B&B located near the university on Monterey St. I chose them because they are dog-friendly. Our room was called Chez Marci, and it was on the small side, and had no bathtub, but the shower was quite nice. They offer wine and appetizers in the evenings and a full breakfast in the morning. For the dogs, they make their own heart-shaped biscuits. The only read drawback to the place for us was the lack of any place on the site designated for the dogs to relieve themselves. For that, we had to take them across the street or around the block. The staff were friendly and welcoming to us and our dogs. Lacey and Zoey had a great time!

Dave J.

Yelp
We had an excellent stay at Petit Soleil this month. This was our first stay since the property underwent its renovation. It was fantastic! Our king room was spacious and had a supportive, comfortable bed with high-quality linens. The bathroom was remodeled with a large tub/shower combination. The bedroom furnishings were of high quality, and the style of the entire property is a muted, sophisticated French. The breakfasts remain amazing; we enjoyed the quiche and berry pancakes. We loved eating on the beautiful patios. The daily happy hours also remain excellent. Local wines were of high quality. The savory appetizers were delicious and paired well with the wines. Our dog also loved staying at this very dog-friendly hotel. The staff were all wonderful, and service remains excellent. We will continue to stay at Petit Soleil when we visit SLO.

Yelp
This is a cute, tiny bed and breakfast. Rooms are themed with French names. Ours happened to be Le Cochon - "pig" - which we didn't take personally and instead enjoyed the whimsical pig decor of our room. The room itself was quite small with just enough room for the queen bed (which was exceptionally comfortable) to fit. The shower was barely big enough to move your arms but the water pressure was excellent and there was plenty of hot water. The usual amenities were present in the bathroom. There was a silent heater/AC unit as well as an overhead fan to keep us comfortable in any temperature. The walls were paper thin so heavy footsteps and conversations from next door were disturbing but fortunately our neighbors were rarely in the room (neither were we). We slept well as it is located in a quiet neighborhood. The food served here was amazing. Breakfasts enjoyed by my wife and I included french toast, pancakes, and eggs florentine. Good coffee and a choice of pastries were offered prior to breakfast. They also have a nightly wine social with choices of wines (other adult offerings are available) and hors d'oeuvres such as spiced nuts, cured meat, sliced apples, and pastries. Food was served in a nicely decorated indoor dining room or you could choose to eat at a table in either a lovely front or rear patio amidst fountains and flowers. Although I don't know any of their names, I definitely wish to praise each and every staff person for their excellent, cheerful service. Without exception each of them showered us with warmth and contributed in making our stay wonderful. Petit Soliel is located around a half mile from downtown which was an easy 15 minute walk. Parking is conveniently available in an adjacent restaurant lot. Despite my quibbles about the room itself, we found this place to be charming and would stay here again in a heartbeat. As an aside, this is a pet friendly bed and breakfast and your dog(s) are welcome.

Yelp
Annie, thank you! The customer service at Petit Soleil is spot on and it clearly starts from the top down, beginning with Annie, the owner. The sparkle of this lovely lady exudes from her pores and is carrying on the legacy of her parents who owned and ran the property prior to Annie and her husband taking over the reins in the last year or so. When my girlfriend and I decided to visit San Luis Obispo, finding a place to stay took the priority. Walkability and price were our two most important driving factors and how we settled on Petit Soleil. But it was customer service, quality breakfast and cleanliness that absolutely stuck out to us and why we agree we made a good decision on picking this charming little spot. So for two fit women, the walkability to main streets, the mission, wandering of surrounding neighborhoods, Thursday night Farmers Market, restaurants, wine bars, etc. was perfect. Not a bad area, totally felt safe, all good. As a few Yelp reviewers indicated that this B&B is located on a busy street, indeed it is, but having a room ourselves that actually was closest to those busy streets, the sound was not a problem to us in the slightest. Traffic settles and slows around 10-11pm and then all is relatively quiet. We paid about $1000 for our four nights in a room that included one queen bed and a trundle. I personally slept on the trundle and it was remarkably more comfortable than I expected. Firm, not lumpy. I am 5'7 and not a small person and found happiness on the trundle. The room was very clean and void of dust in all those spots one hates to find dust in a hotel ...light bulbs, bed railings, window sills, etc. It has charming touches like clean lace curtains, a bright floral shower curtain, crisp white quilts. For having the charm of an older spot, the room and property have been shown lots of love. The breakfast that comes with the room is quite nice. A daily sampling of fresh pastries are served and you then can choose from one savory or one sweet hot breakfast item (like blueberry pancakes or a quiche). This is not self serve, but we thought the portion sizes were quite ample. Equally at night, for their happy hour, you can select from several whites or red, in addition to a beer or two. This part of the stay is not why we selected Petit Soleil, but a bonus. Annie and her spouse Rob, in addition to Dante, Rachel and all the other lovely staff members who are present at breakfast, check-in, helping with bags to room, cleaning off tables at happy hour, conversing with guests....genuine, friendly, warm, helpful, kind at every single guest touch point. These owners and this team are the reason you should choose this property when visiting SLO. They will make you feel appreciated and welcome in a way that makes you feel you made a good investment in your decision to stay at Petit Soleil. I would highly recommend and would stay again in the event I am in the area in the future.

Yelp
Lovely little place. I think they recently remodeled the rooms because ours was very clean and the furnishings were all new. I appreciate their modern yet classic design! Unfortunately, our guest experience was degraded by the current renovations the building is undergoing. Their kitchen was closed, so breakfast was grab-and-go (croissants, coffee, fruit, etc.). I have no idea if we still paid full price for the rooms or not. Petit Soliel is a Bed & Breakfast, and clearly, the homemade breakfast is a huge draw at this place...so that was really disappointing. What's even more disappointing is that we weren't compensated in any small way to make up for it. Maybe a small gift card to the Splash Cafe next door? Just an idea. Another issue I had during our visit was that when I went to the bathroom one early morning, there was a man at our window. It was extremely alarming as we were on the second floor. I quickly pulled the blind down and remembered they're doing renovations, so I assume the guy was doing work on a ladder. Still, a heads-up would be nice! Another issue is that the water got shut off for about 45 minutes due to a plumbing emergency. This was really annoying since it happened in the late morning, just as we were trying to get ready and head out for the day. My husband went downstairs to inform the front desk about the man at our bathroom window and they gave us a complimentary bottle of wine to make us feel better. The staff was overall very sweet. I'm sure they're all trying to do their best during stressful renovations, but management really needs to improve the guest experience in the midst of all the weird inconveniences. Despite all of this, I look forward to returning and hopefully having a better stay after the renovations are completed.

Yelp
Staff was amazing. If I could give a 10, I would. Breakfast both days was fantastic, if they offer chocolate chip, banana pancakes, go for it. Happy hour is a nice touch. Very quite. This was our 2nd or 3rd time staying there. We had our dog with us. Won't stay anywhere else in SLO!!

Deborah L.

Yelp
It's a charming spot , the public spaces are lovely, the staff is super friendly. But! The rooms are really tiny and many have windows just onto a small walkway so there's little light, no view & very little privacy. Our stay was ok but we wouldn't stay here again.

Trisha B.

Yelp
We've stayed many places in SLO. Petite Soleil is by far the best - perfect. Their breakfast's and aperitif's are an incredible bonus. So charming. Dante and the team are so kind and accommodating. Great location. I recommend whole heartedly! If only I could live there!

Yelp
Friendly staff, room we had was spacious, great location--lots of places you can walk to from the hotel. They were in the middle of a renovation but it did not interfere with the great stay. The hotel has a lot of nice touches like delicious breakfast and a happy hour where they serve wine and appetizers. Their beds are comfortable and we loved our bathroom.

Yelp
Our stay here was so lovely, when making the decision to grab a drink downtown after dinner or calling it an early night, me and my girlfriend immediately went back to Petit Soleil and relaxed in our room. The service was so friendly and easy, I felt like we were guests in their homes. Shout out to Dante, who I Believe I was in contact with. He helped me get a beautiful bouquet of flowers for the room. What I also loved about this place is their ability to showcase local businesses. It was such a pleasure to spend our breakfast and before dinner aperitif in their outdoor patio. They were so accommodating to our dog as well. He got a treat everytime we did. 5/5 no notes, would stay again.

Karen I.

Yelp
I am picky. I came upon Petit Soleil searching for a quaint Inn. My primary one was sold out. I am flabbergasted with the hospitality, the details and the care of the staff here at this hidden jewel. We were 100% comfortable, safe and completely felt like home. I think they've trumped my primary. Yes for Petit Soleil! Dante is a pure angel and can run an Inn like nobody's business. The owners should feel so lucky to have him. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I'll be back very soon.

Yelp
Breaks my heart to post this review. We have stayed at this little bed and breakfast for over 30 years, but after our recent visit we will not be returning. Gone are the welcoming hosts, generous with their smiles and accommodations. Now it's an up and coming for maxium profit bar with a grudgingly (by some of the staff) offering of breakfast and evening wine and appetizers. The rooms have been redone, and although not all are finished, the one we stayed in had a very uncomfortable spring and mattress bed. There are no housekeeping services unless you ask for them. The charming patio is now crammed with tables and stacks of extra chairs as if they are waiting for masses of people to suddenly show up. Instead of feeling like welcome guests, we felt like unwelcome visitors. So sad. I'm not opposed to change, but hopefully it is for the better. The changes here are not.

Yelp
I was disappointed that, due to remodeling, breakfast service was reduced to grab & go items from the reception room. This was not communicated during the booking process, and the website does not reveal this. During my visit it was raining, and the 2 patio tables under cover were taken. This was awkward; I had to juggle my breakfast items back upstairs. My room was very comfortable. I admired the attention to detail and original design. I'm sure that once the dining area is restored, this will be an amazing place to stay.

Yelp
My wife, our dog Cooper, and I stayed at Petit Soleil Bed and Breakfast to celebrate our wedding anniversary and visit the San Luis Obispo farmers' market. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Dante, who graciously accommodated our early check-in. The hotel is both clean and beautifully maintained. We thoroughly enjoyed the happy hour (the young lady who helped us was so lovely and wonderful; we forgot to ask her name) and breakfast, particularly their delicious quiche. Raven, with her sweet smile, made our mornings even better by helping with breakfast and even offering Cooper a treat--she was kind enough to share the recipe with us as well. Our stay was truly wonderful, and we'll definitely be returning thanks to the excellent customer service.

Yelp
This has been our favorite B & B and we have been coming here for years, until it was bought by its new owner (in 2022?). So why has its new owner started needlessly "renovating" the rooms and essentially gutted them off their souls?? Gone are their French quirkiness, homeliness and ambience that many customers have come to enjoy again and again. In their place are cookie-cutter minimalist designs that fail to capture the magic of the place! As well, when we stayed here in September 2023, they did not offer a hot breakfast service as they normally did because their "kitchen was not available due to the renovation." In place of the hot breakfast service, guests had to self-serve with ready-made croissants and pre-packaged pastries that were put on a table in their office. You would think that Petit Soleil management would at least give us a room discount for the inconvenience and for falling short of customer expectations, right? NO! The new owner is all about profits and has absolutely no idea on what it takes to reward its loyal customers who have been coming here for years! This will be the last time we are staying here! I am sure that there are other B & Bs in the area that can provide a much better customer experience.

Yelp
Petit Soleil was amazing!!! It was our final stop after a 6 day road trip down the coast of CA and we wish we would have been at this hotel longer than 1 night! It was by far the best hotel we stayed at and somehow the cheapest in price. I couldn't believe how affordable it was and then when we were checked into our room, I was so pleasantly surprised with the modern finishes, large room and overall high-quality experience. We loved the complimentary breakfast and wine/charcuterie happy hour. The staff was so friendly and gave great recommendations for the area. It was a 12 minute walk into town and we loved the town! Overall such an amazing stay and we will definitely stay here again if we visit San Luis Obispo!

Yelp
Had a lovely stay at the beautifully remodeled Petit Soleil. Enjoyed cocktails, wine and appetizers on the patio in the evening and sourdough chocolate chip banana pancakes and mushroom chèvre quiche in the morning. Appreciated the warm welcome and excellent personal service from the kind staff. Highly recommend a stay here.

Yelp
All of the staff were amazingly hospitable. Other things we loved: convenient parking, cute room, dog friendly, adorable patio, free snacks, free French breakfast, products in the restroom smelled amazing :) only thing that could have improved is the TV situation - would have been nice to have some free streaming apps like Tubi downloaded that didn't require login

Yelp
We stayed here again recently. It was a nice experience, but the prices have increased significantly! They recently remodeled and I suppose that expense has been passed on to consumers. Although I love it there, I doubt if we'll be able to stay again in the future. Unfortunate.

Yelp
This was our second stay in the last month! Loved our time there. Patio is lovely and relaxing. Cocktail hour is so nice and staff is wonderful. We will definitely return!

Yelp
This is by far and away the best BnB I have ever stayed at. Local wine and appetizers made from local farms in the late afternoon and a robust and absolutely delicious breakfast in the morning. Lots of homemade pasties, waffles and eggs. Our room was lovely and the best bed (besides my own) that I have ever slept on. The attention to detail is impeccable from the quaint garden courtyard to the soft sheets to the large towels and bathroom products. My only item that didn't quite fit was the single ply toilet paper. We will definitely be coming back to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and luxury. PS it's walking distance to downtown with lots of shops, restaurants and bars.

Yelp
C'est Parfait!!! I stayed here night before last on August 11, 2020 and everything was wonderful. This is a lovely European style bed and breakfast in the heart of central California. The rooms are decorated with care and well thought out. The service is fast, friendly, and efficient. They currently have all Covid19 regulations in place. Petit Soleil is centrally located and in walking distance to most shops and restaurants. Their breakfast and complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvre hour are are both relaxed and welcoming. If I could give them 10 stars, I would!

Yelp
We had such a lovely time at Petit Soleil! Once getting past the busy street you step inside an oasis of Parisian deliciousness. Great food, drink, super comfy bed and the very best service---old school hospitality meets modern amenities. It is very affordable and they really go above and beyond. Loved it!

Yelp
San Luis Obispo, CA This is a French themed upgraded motel in San Luis Obispo. I learned of this location from the review of Yelper, Timmy S. Thanks, Timmy! I planned a last minute getaway, literally on my way up to SLO. Not generally advised on a busy weekend in the summer, but somehow I managed to make it work...barely! Most everything was booked in the area and thankfully there was a room available here for one night. I checked in after the evening reception hour, but made the reservation with Abbey over the phone and she provided excellent service with my booking. When I arrived, Abbey showed me the few rooms left. I chose the one that I seemed to like the best, it was upstairs. Even though it seemed to be the best out of the 3 that I saw, a screen was missing from the window. Honestly, I did not sleep very well during the night. The bed was comfortable enough, and the room seemed clean, but the linens didn't feel as clean and crisp as I generally like, I almost wondered if they had been changed, and I've never thought that before at any other place I've stayed. I seemed to toss and turn for half of the night, but finally dozed off. I really wanted fresh air but I didn't keep the window open all night because of the lack of the screen. Even if I wanted to request change of sheets and pillowcases, no one is on site after 10 PM, and that's about the time I went up to the room after checking in a few hours ealier and leaving my things in the room very briefly. Surprisingly, breakfast more than made up for the night prior. I was so surprised to learn everything in house is scratch made. The coffee was fantastic, The house pastries were delicious, and the strata with eggs and veggies was so good. I bought the $15 cookbook that was published by this establishment and have already made a few recipes. I have a huge cookbook collection but I'm really happy I got this cookbook. I can tell the proprietors love to make delicious food and I am intrigued by some of the recipes and the story behind it all as described in the book. The artwork on the cover is also beautiful. I would stay here again, but possibly with better planning. Some of the rooms pictured on the Internet look really nice. I imagine a stay could be altered with a different room as they are all furnished differently and have different artwork and themes. The room upgrade and remodel seemed nice, but still the property of an old refurbished motel. The bathroom was very nice, the amenities of L'Occitane products were a pleasure to use. I didn't get a chance to formally meet the owner, but she was busy serving up breakfast in the morning and engaging with customers. I could really sense the warmth of hospitality, and it was so refreshing to see everything is scratch made in their kitchen for their guests. One thing I did notice and it could be because of the open window for part of the evening, There was a slithering silverfish bug in the bathroom in the middle of the night that I had to try and step on with my flip flop to kill, but not sure if I was successful, and in the morning I also saw a dying roach/large beetle type bug on it's back in the outdoor downstairs walkway to the patio. Parking is in the adjacent Splash Cafe parking lot which was very convenient to get to the car. I was really trying to venture out and try something new in the area versus where I generally stay and I'm glad I gave this place a shot despite the few hiccups along the way.

Yelp
I would leave a ten star review if I could. Morgan M. said "I can't say enough compliments about this place" - and I agree! Everything about our stay was extraordinary. I would say it sometimes felt more like a restaurant than a bed and breakfast. A French, country restaurant. . . the wine and food was that delicious and beautifully presented. The ambiance of the B&B was beautifully done. Like Behrooz, I also noticed the beautiful French music and the smell of chocolate when we walked into the lobby. We greatly enjoyed sitting on the back patio for the lovely wine tasting they have each afternoon. There is a very nice selection of wines to choose from. And a small tasty appetizer. The breakfast the next morning - fresh pastries and eggs Florentine was divine. We were lucky enough to book the large two room suite. It has a "wow" factor with a fireplace in the room (didn't need it, but we turned it on to see it). Beautiful French, country feel decor. You really did feel as if you were in France. In the bathroom they had L'Occitane products. I love the scent of the lotion, and I've already purchased more off of Amazon. We got to meet the owners on our last day; Such warm, kind people. You can see how dedicated they are to managing Petiti Soleil, that it really is a labor of love. Centrally located to many good restaurants. This is one of those places where we already have decided we'd be back.... I noticed that the price of our suite was LESS than the prices listed for hotel rooms on Hotel Tonight. This was a very special experience for a very, very reasonable price.

Yelp
Lovely, lovely, lovely! We will certainly return here. The accommodations were impeccable and the staff was outstanding. The wine/appetizer hour was a welcome after a long day of travel. The complimentary breakfast was amazing. We ordered different pastries and hot meals so we could experience all of the offerings.

Yelp
Talk about the cutest boutique hotel in SLO. This hotel is across the street from Central Coast Brewing Co (major plus when you are a craft beer person), and about a 10 min walking distance to the main downtown strip. Parking is horrible but when the cafe next door is not busy, spaces open up. The beds were really comfy and the morning breakfast was yummy and fresh. I wish I would have taken advantage of the wine and dessert happy hour in the lobby but we were too busy exploring SLO, we never made it on time. Hotel is also located near a 7-11 and gas stations.

Yelp
Love this place. We had a wonderful time for Labor Day weekend. Such a charming French theme. Our room Rendezvous was beautifully decorated. Breakfast every morning & wine tasting with appetizers in the afternoon. The staff was so friendly. We will definitely stay here again.

Yelp
My wife and I are regulars at this bed and breakfast and would have given 5 stars if it were not for the fact that it is under new ownership. The new owners are remodeling, which in our opinion, has taken away some of the original charm. They also charge now for extra portions of food and beverage at breakfast and hourderve time. This all is an unwelcome change, in our opinion. It is still a wonderful place to stay, just not as inviting or generous as under the previous owners.

Yelp
What a lovely place. We stayed here last night. Came to SLO for a concert at the Fremont and this place was walking distance. Beautifully appointed rooms (each one themed), very clean, generous service and hospitality. The food/beverages for both happy hour and breakfast were superb. Very good value for the money. Definitely would stay here again.
