We really loved this relatively simple but incredibly hospitable hotel with the nicest staff and frankly the best bar (cave bar) in Petra. It really is MOST perfectly situated hotel in Petra - right next to the official entrance to the Petra site (and the walk in through the Siq) and next to the Petra Museum. We had been told it would be more simple - so we’re surprised to find a really large room with a terrace, a huge comfortable bed and large bathroom. The room was kept spotlessly clean at all times. We had a lovely welcome plate of sweet treats and fruit. Every member of staff was welcoming - from the car park security, to the doorman, the reception team, particularly the breakfast team and also the bar staff. A great buffet breakfast too. So much nicer than the anodyne 4 and 5 star hotels we had stayed at in places like Amman. We really loved the hotel. And where else can you get to sit and have food and a drink in a very cosy Nabatean cave tomb..?

This was my third stay at Petra Guest House, and once again, it did not disappoint. The rooms are consistently clean, spacious, and comfortable. The breakfast is always a highlight — fresh, tasty, and with a great variety. A special thanks to Omar, who was incredibly kind and attentive during breakfast, making sure we had everything we needed. The reception team was also amazing — welcoming, professional, and always ready to help. Their warmth and support truly made our stay even more enjoyable. Looking forward to coming back again!

Our second visit to the Petra Guest House was just as pleasant as the first. This hotel is located immediately at the entrance and exit of the Petra site and after a long tiring day of sightseeing, you will be thankful you chose this hotel. There is a marvelous open terrace and bar in actual ancient cutout of rocks which is very relaxing and unique. ||The rooms are well outfitted, the staff are very professional and friendly, not to mention kind and attentive. The breakfast buffet is fantastic with every imaginable kind of breads, fruits, and hot dishes. All areas of the hotel are super clean and well staffed. Security is there to keep only guests of the hotel in the premises, and are very helpful.||You are treated like an honored guest at this hotel.

I stayed at the Petra Guest House for a few days in April 2025. It was bloody great, and if I were to return to Wadi Musa/Petra I'd stay there again. ||Had assumed it would be well out of my price range but as a solo traveller got a really good deal on a "single room" on Agoda - what I'd expect to pay for a three star hotel in town. Given they were pretty empty (off season, Ramadan, and the issues in the country next door unfortunately putting off foreign tourists - great for me but terrible for the locals who depend completely on tourism for their livelihood), they were pretty empty and upgraded me from the standard room I had to one of their "king chalets" in the terraces along the hill. Which was enormous, with what looked like a freshly renovated bathroom, and an extremely comfortable bed.||One note: if you're mobility-impaired you'll want to get a normal room in the main block, not one of these great "chalets", as there's a lot of path and a lot of stairs. I'm not, I loved it. ||You can wake up in the morning, walk straight out of breakfast and through the gates into the archaeological park. It's actually technically inside the park boundaries.||Then when you walk back out at the end of the day go straight up to your room. Or more likely straight to the Cave Bar.||Re. the Cave Bar, I ate there one night when I came back late and was too tired to go into town. The maghloub I had was tasty and reasonably priced (I'd expected it to be a lot more), arrived quickly, and the beer was reasonably priced for Jordan. And you'll not be drinking in a two thousand year-old bar anywhere else anytime soon.||If you're going to Litte Petra, which you really should if you're in town for more than a day, the free shuttle bus is about 150 metres away up the hill behind the visitor centre, runs every half hour. That's also where the bus station is for JETT buses and the Rum bus.||Special thanks to Ibrahim and Hanadi at the front desk for their friendliness, and to Eid the porter for jump-starting my rental car after I'd managed to leave the interior light on while it was parked up for three days 🤦‍♂️

Lovely hotel. Staff very helpful, friendly and efficient. Very comfortable and in a great location at the entrance to Petra. So nice after a lot of walking in Petra not to have to walk far to hotel. Lovely breakfast with great choice . Cave bar atmospheric and lovely for a drink at end of day

We were here with 4 friends in may 2025. The staff was very friendly! The chambers were very neat and the location was 10/10, you couldn’t be more close to the entrance of the historical site of Petra! The ambiance at the bar was was also very nice. Breakfazt was more than enough, starting from 6 so we were very fast to enter the historical site

Petra Guest House was a wonderful stay. It is immediately next door to the Petra Visitor Centre and entrance into the park. It is very convenient and nothing was better than an ice cold (overpriced) Petra draft lager on their Cave Bar patio immediately after a long day of exploring! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was a great spread and delicious. Our room was nothing special but it was clean and the bed was comfy.
