15 Unique Things to Do in Prague (Updated 2025)

"Inspired by the Eiffel Tower after Czechs visited the 1889 Paris Exposition, Petrín Tower isn’t a replica but clearly evokes the original; I climbed the 299 steps to the top for a stunning panoramic view of Prague — admission is charged but the vista is worth the effort." - Matthew Kepnes

The oldest castle in the world! Amazing Bohemian architecture. View from there is amazing. Going inside the castle might be worth it for few individuals who like history. But visiting this place, most people do it for the views. It is even more prettier when lit. It is pure fairy tale when it rains!

Climbing the Petrin Tower is one of the best ways to see Prague and it is absolutely worth the visit. We waited around 15 to 20 minutes to get tickets, which was reasonable given how popular it is. On the first viewing platform we had to wait another 10 minutes before being allowed to go up to the top, but the system works well to control numbers so it never feels overcrowded inside. There is a lift available for an extra cost, but I chose the stairs, which is a good option if you do not mind the climb. From the top the views of Prague are fantastic, stretching right across the city, and in the evening the tower is beautifully illuminated which makes it even more special.

Climbed up Petrin Tower and was rewarded with stunning panoramic views of Prague. The walk up is pleasant, and the view from the top is absolutely worth it. A great spot to see the city from above!

Nice place to visit and also has a good garden space to walk around. You can also climb the tower to get the fantastic city view. Also you have a small coffee shop for refreshments. Just make sure you have spare change because Toilets are not free so better carry coins. It's 10 mins walk from the Tram Station. Good place to visit.

I took the climb up as it was cheaper, generally not tough, and even if you struggle, there are rest benches along the way, which you can rest on. The view on the top is breathtaking, as i went on a sunny day. Good to bring along binoculars if you have it. Pictures don't do justice to the view, you have to be there to see and feel the wind. You can catch a good view of both the cathedral and charles bridge. Depending on the time of day, there might be a lot of people. As i went during the summer, i could not see the sunset or the night view. But the day view is pretty good as well.

Getting up to Petřín Tower is definitely a bit of a workout — you have to hike up a steep hill first, then climb the tower’s stairs to the top. It’s not the easiest climb, especially if you’re not used to it! But trust me, the effort is totally worth it. Once you reach the top, the panoramic views of Prague are stunning, giving you a unique perspective of the city’s rooftops, the Vltava River, and beyond. The tower itself is charming and a nice break from the usual tourist spots. If you want to save some energy, there’s a funicular that can take you part of the way up the hill. Either way, it’s a rewarding experience for those who enjoy a bit of adventure with their sightseeing.

Beautiful view of Prague and the surrounding area. I chose to take the stairs, although for a bit more you can get a ticket for the lift. The view up the stairs was nice, and the stairs are one way so you do not have to worry about them being crowded. It’s ~298 vertical steps (not including landings), so keep that in mind especially if you walked from the city which was mostly a constant incline. But even with that, the view was totally worth it!

This was quite cool but a bit confusing for me. I counted the steps up and steps back down but somehow came to different number, out by about 40 which wasn't even close. Either I miscounted or, more likely, whoever built the stairs made them bigger on the down side. Worth noting that there are 2 separate sets of stairs to optimise the flow of sightseers. This was a good and appreciated system and it worked well. I would question whether the pricing strategy of this attraction (400 czk for lift up, 250czk for stairs) complies with the accessibility legislation, as those with accessibility issues would struggle at the least to climb the 200+ stairs required to get to the top. I imagine there must be some separate pricing for wheelchair users and those otherly abled although i didn't enquire around this. the views from the top are brilliant and worth paying the money to get into this attraction. There is also a small museum/ gallery in ghe cellar which is easily missed if not oaying attention. You need to have small change in coins to use the toilet here and there is no facility to scan the QR code on your ticket to gain entry. I do not think this is fair. All round worth a visit but don't cry if you miss it.
