Petronilla - Hotel

It's easy to see why this hotel is #1 on TripAdvisor. Once we arrived, we met the wonderful staff member Rebecca, sorry Rebecca, no bad review lol. She provided detailed information on what to do, including taking bus #1 to Upper Bergamo. We had a rental, and the hotel provides a valet service for 20 Euro per day. Rooms are in great condition. Breakfast is wonderful and you can have eggs made to order, all the staff members here were very kind and helpful. Plenty of Restaurants in Lower Bergamo to choose from. We had a great time in Bergamo and the hospitality at Petronilla Hotel was a welcoming choice. Travelers, you won't be disappointed here.

We had an outstanding experience. This small boutique family owned hotel has the most compelling attribute: superb staff. They are welcoming, warm, knowledgeable, and more than competent. They made us feel like special guests. Our room was lovely, nicely designed, lots of natural light, crisp sheets with a quilt that was not too hot. Two other attributes: central location and delicious breakfast. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

A small boutique hotel, well located in Bergamo City. First impressions mean a great deal, and the professional yet friendly and welcoming reception we received on arrival set a high bar which was maintained throughout our stay. Every member of staff operated at the highest level of customer service, and always went the extra mile to ensure that the experience was top class, whether that was providing recommendations, assisting with travel or just simply making the stay memorable. |Our room was big and well presented, with a modern walk in shower, and really comfortable bed. |breakfast was always a feast for the eyes with fruit, meats, cheeses, breads, yoghurt etc, and hot food on request. I opted for an omelette every morning and it was absolutely delicious. Breakfast was available in the main dining area or could be taken outside in the courtyard.|We have stayed in many hotels, but have never been treated so well. Hotel Petronilla has set a very high bar for the rest to follow. A real credit to the City of Bergamo and the tourist industry of the region.

This hotel is very comfortable and the staff are super friendly and helpful. We appreciated the private parking which costs 20 euros per day. The excellent location of the hotel makes it possible to do everything on foot so you can leave the car behind. Decor wise I think we were unlucky with our room, which seemed dated and was extremely dull with poor window coverings. The design was not at all tasteful in my opinion, perhaps a bit retro, but not smart. All rooms are different so maybe we were unlucky. The shower was more of a mist than a shower so not perfect for washing your hair. On the upside it was spotlessly clean though and provided a quiet place to sleep. You wouldn't have wanted to spend much time in our room as it was rather depressing. We had a good breakfast but no offer of eggs day 1 - just buffet style food. The next day we were offered a very delicious omelette.

It’s just perfect. Very friendly and forthcoming staff, excellent breakfast and lovely rooms. Very quiet, great backyard for breakfast. Nothing to complain about - we will come back ❤️

A very pleasant hotel with a great location and an outstanding team. When we had an issue with the drain late at night, they quickly moved us to another room without any hassle. Breakfasts were also really good - fresh and varied. Would definitely stay again.

What a gem. Arrived late in the evening to a warm welcome. The hotel had kindly arranged a wonderful airport transfer. Our room was large and airy. Decor is modern and quirky. The shower takes a little getting used to but the room was very clean. Nice little touches of complimentary bottles of water. |The breakfast was lovely. A nice continental selection and the omelette and scrambled eggs were beautiful. Presentation was perfection. |If you are lucky enough to encounter Rebecca, she is amazing. Her knowledge of the city is second to none. Kindly recommended two restaurants for our stay which were bang on. |Can definitely recommend this hotel.

If you are ever lucky enough to be spending any time in Bergamo your experience will be brilliant just because it is a magnificent place to visit. But it will be even better if you book a room at this very special hotel. It is perfectly located at the foot of the ‘citta alta’ with beautifully appointed rooms and facilities. The staff are friendly and professional and they obviously enjoy their work. And if Rebecca is on duty when you arrive you will understand what I mean.
