Petrosains, The Discovery Centre

Had a surprisingly fun time here. I visited during their Ramadan promo and the staff were great—they gave me the discount even though I am not Muslim, which was a nice gesture. The place is very interactive. Instead of just reading boring display boards, there are plenty of hands-on activities to actually do. A highlight for me was the Maker Studio where I used AI to design a name tag and got it 3D-printed for free. There was only one VR station, and the arcade area is more for simulated driving, like racing a car or a bike. The Energy Capsule ride is also worth the add-on; it’s a slow-moving ride that takes about 10 minutes to go through the different displays. I also saw the animatronic dinosaurs, which were quite cool. Much better than a typical museum since you actually get to play with the tech. Total spent RM 36.50 for the entrance and the Energy Capsule ride. Definitely worth a visit if you are in KLCC.

We went to the national Science Museum of Malaysia yesterday. Comparing the two, petrosains discovery center was superior. Superior in terms of 1) location 2) activities for teens 3) maintenance of the facilities. Time budget depends on how engaged you are with the activities. We have been here for 3 hours but we hardly went through half of it. We did the 'capsule' as an add on. All four of us said there was not much to add to the overall experience. It was not bad but really not needed and does not add more value to the visit. There's a cafe inside for simple lunch / snacks. Food not awesome but serves the purpose of not leaving the museum and extending the time spent at the museum.

Incredible views. You have a clear access to the sky bridge at 21 floor and then to a viewing platform at floor 86. However you are given 15 minutes and the first stop and a similar time at the second but there isn't much to photograph after you've done your first 5 minutes. Coming back down was a painstaking wait. My wife felt unwell but we still had to wait over 20 minutes despite getting initial line from 86 to 83 quite quickly. Not a well orchestrated process and didn't seem to be any way to change it if needed.

Petrosains is located at the top of the KLCC Mall. It's easy to reach; if you're bringing a stroller, you can take the central elevator. Upon exiting, you'll immediately find Petrosains. Tickets are purchased at a dedicated counter and are self-service. It's best to buy online to avoid queues. The queues and entry times are quite regular. There are several areas inside. It's surprisingly spacious, with plenty to see and play. Children aged 3-7 will spend more time playing than learning the explanations. But overall, it's all fun. All areas are child- and stroller-friendly. There are plenty of seating areas for parents to wait for their children. A tour of all areas can take up to three hours. I'll likely return because the kids aren't done yet.

We went on the 23rd December 2025 (Tuesday)! Will recommend buying tickets in advance to avoid the crowd. but the Q to buy tickets was not that long, about 2-3 minutes! But if you want to save the booking fee of 22ringgit then just Q there luh! Inside is so fun and so many hands-on activities to engage children with! Will be good to set aside half a day there!! prepare food or dine-in at the food place! but it’s crowded also la!

This place can get crowded especially in the afternoon so do buy tickets online in advance, we always do and don't have to queue. We've been here twice and enjoyed our time. There are a lot of exhibits and interactive games, beautiful interior, and interesting information to learn. Recommended to ride the capsule to learn about how energy was developed and go into the 3D viewing for environmental awareness. Tickets are affordable. My son especially enjoyed the dinosaur exhibition. My daughter loved the mini excavator part. Recommended to go, enjoyable and educational.

Petrosains is a fantastic science center with easy access, located on Level 4 of Suria KLCC Mall. I visited on a weekday and there was no queue at all, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The ticket price is totally worth it for what you get. There are many interactive exhibits that allow visitors to explore and learn new things about science in a fun and engaging way. It’s not boring at all — both kids and adults can enjoy the experience. After finishing the visit, you can directly explore the mall, go shopping, or enjoy a meal since Suria KLCC has many food options and places to explore. Honestly, if science centers in Indonesia were this fun and well-designed, we would probably have more young scientists and innovators growing up. Highly recommended for families, students, and anyone curious about science. A must-visit place in Kuala Lumpur!

A good place to experience besides doomscrolling at home. Good customer service, friendy and helpful. I am having a lot of fun here. It been years since i entered Petrosains. There is so much to explore and it is worth for the price paid🎀
