I really wanted to give this place a 5 because the manager really stepped up to address my issues. I regret not taking him up on the offer of getting something else because to me that's what makes a great restaurant (along wth the food), and if I had another item I loved maybe I could justify it. I will say if you have an issue speak up because they do care. I would recommend the chicken fried steak (it is marked in the menu as an Omaha favorite). There is a decent amount of dressing on the salad so if you aren't ok with that, ask for light dressing. I wasn't a fan of the whisky steak. The baked potato and mashed are both fine . Loaded on a baked means melted cheddar and thick bacon slivers (I wouldn't call them bits). The flavor of the lemon meringue was very good. I felt it was a bit gooey but my friend loved it. So it depends on what kind of texture you prefer I would defintely give them another try because of their service. The chicken fried steak was great but I would like to see if they have more items that are solid. Parking is plentiful and on both sides of the restaurant. It looks like they have an updated patio (I included a picture in my review but Google hasn't been always accepting my pictures lately)

Always a pleasure to dine here. Nicest wait staff, quick kitchen, delicious food. If a mistake is made they're always quick and happy to resolve to your satisfaction. Ordered the French dip and the parmesan chicken sandwich. They were great quality, tasted like fresh ingredients, and best of all were extremely inexpensive.

I am visiting from California, and my dad brought us to Petrows, as he has been going there for years. The prices were very reasonable, and the food was excellent. Every single person we encountered was so polite. Annette was our server and couldn't have been more courteous and efficient. My dad showed me some old photos by the front entrance that illustrate how the restaurant has changed over the last several decades- so very cool! There is a complete section for fresh ice cream too. I had pot roast, and it was delicious. My granddaughter ordered a child's portion of chicken tenders and it would have been enough for a adult. I was very happy we had the chance to eat there during our trip.

Beautiful day, so we wanted to sit outside. The new patio looks awesome, but... To sit out there we had to order and pay at the bakery counter, which was a little awkward. Great beer specials, and everyone knows The Hot Beef is legit.

Was very disappointed last night. I took my grandma there for fried chicken. It came out over cooked. I ordered the chicken fried steak, first problem is it came without any gravy. After I had to ask for the gravy it tasted like flour and water and had a very runny consistency more like a soup. And for the chicken fried steak it was very bland. The fries were gross. i will not be going here again

Petrow’s is an iconic Omaha restaurant with terrific breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. The dessert menu is where they really shine, though.

Came in at 1230. Place is packed. Seated within 5 minutes. All the staff was very polite. Ordered quickly and received our food within 15 minutes. I had the Philly steak sandwich! So good!

Drove by this location and thought it might be a good place to eat at and I was hungry anyways, so I figured why not. When I came in I was greeted warmly and I requested to be near a tv. Hostess escorted me to my seat and the waitress is an absolute sweetheart. I asked her about this location and the history behind it, because I was quite intrigued by some of the photos on the wall. She wasn’t sure though, but told me she can find out. Well come to find out the owner Mr. Petrow was there and introduced himself and we chatted it up for a few minutes. Very nice person and as far as the food goes I thought it to be very tasty. I had spaghetti and a cookie for desert. I was so full and had to order a to go box. I’m not originally from Omaha, but one of my friends lived here his entire life and I asked him if he’s been to this place before. He also told me this place has been around a long time and there shakes are great! Great nostalgic place and will be back. My opinion is if any establishment has been around for half a century plus and has been in the family for generation after generation then they are doing something right and it’s good. Plain and simple.
