First time getting groomed at Petsmart. Very upset and disappointed. Noticed my dog was scooting and licking his private area often. We checked to see this. So upsetting.. He gets groomed often and is overall great with it. For this to happen is just unacceptable. Do better!

PetSmart is a Total Nightmare! 😡 #AnimalCruelty #PetSmartFail** I can't believe what I just saw at PetSmart! Took my granddaughter to check out the fish, and it was absolutely horrifying. The tanks were full of dead fish—floating at the top, lying at the bottom, everywhere you looked. It was like a scene from a horror movie! 😱 #FishGraveyard When my granddaughter touched the glass, the fish went nuts, slamming into each other like they were panicking. And the ones at the bottom? Just bones! No eyes, no flesh—just skeletons! It made me sick to my stomach. 🤮 #WhatIsGoingOn I asked the cashier how often they clean the tanks, and she laughed like it was a joke. “Maybe once a week,” she said. Really? That’s just unacceptable! And when I asked how often they feed the fish, she had no idea. Shouldn’t it be multiple times a day? #Neglect This isn’t just a one-time thing; I see this every time I go in. It’s not only the goldfish, either. I watched a turtle munching on goldfish while kids stood there, thinking it was entertainment. This is not okay! #Cruelty I’m done with PetSmart. This kind of stuff needs to be reported, and I’m taking it to the authorities and PETA. Animals deserve way better than this 🐠💔 #StandUpForAnimals #PetSmartMoreLikePetDumb

this makes me sick to my stomach.. every time i come here i see SO many dead fish.. it seems like they absolutely never get fed so they are forced to feed on each other it breaks my heart. at the bottom of the goldfish tanks you can literally see their bones.. that shows you how often they clean those tanks. this is so disgusting and disappointing

I had an overall great experience at the Abilene, TX PetSmart. Everything was pretty well stocked and in the right place where the product should be. I did notice that a lot of the products were cheaper or on sale on the app but not in the store. I asked a store associate about the pricing difference and he told me just to show the cashier the price in the app and she would fix the price to what it was on the app. Which was super helpful!! I saved almost $10 on one product due to it being on sale through the app and not on sale in the store. The cashier was extremely nice and helpful. Changed the price after I showed her what is was on the app, no questions asked. I am one happy fur baby momma and I have a super happy fur baby thanks to the Abilene, TX PetSmart!! Thank y'all so much!!

Took both my dogs for a grooming session. The staff did an amazing job for my dogs. I appreciate their hard work I know one of my dogs needed A LOT of brushing. Thank you for the wonderful care with my dogs.

I have had my mini schnauzer Milo for 3 and a half years and have struggled walking him due to my cerebral palsy and him pulling on the leash. We started individual training sessions with Shannon in January of 2023 until April of 2023. Shannon helped me realize his tugging was trying to help supplement my balance. I have subsequently taken Milo to two group classes for training. I am very thankful for the PetSmart training program

Very rude, disinterest staff. Customers actually treated like they were in the way. The animals were actually more helpful than the people 'nuff said. I don't mind giving this bad review, they EARNED it, so it's genuinely warranted.

Shout out to the Grooming Salon. I have Shelties and a badly-shedding Shepherd mix. The girls and guys in the grooming salon always take their time, paying attention to details. I have taken my dogs elsewhere, but keep coming back to Petsmart. They are not the cheapest, but you pay for the quality and experience of your pet. Thanks especially to Alyssa, who groomed our first Sheltie right before she passed, and helped her stand and held her in her arms while she dried. Also, Sam D., who held our scared, new-to-grooming Sheltie in her arms just a few days ago while she dried. They are worth the money.

I've used several PetSmart stores for grooming my dogs and this place takes the cake, in a bad way unfortunately. They have the worst customer service ever. Last week I called to schedule my 3 pets to be groomed today (2 dogs and cat); they called me yesterday to cancel one of the dogs appointments due to being understaffed so I rescheduled both dogs for to weeks out when they said they could do both dogs the same day; they didn't say anything about the cat's appointment. Today they called and said that they needed to reschedule the one dog's appointment to which I said both dogs have been rescheduled. I asked if the cat appointment was still on and to my surprise she said "I'm not sure who you talked to, but the cat's groomer is not here today" and she referred me to Petco! How bad can a business get when their own employees refer clients to the competition! I'm appalled with this kind of thing going on at this store; it's like they don't coordinate anything or even take time to look at a the schedule before calling clients to cancel or reschedule appointments. Do they even know how to groom a dog? I'm hoping management sees this review and takes matter into their own hands unless they are the same kind.....

Just your average PetSmart. I do enjoy the "bring your pet shopping" policy. There's everything you need there. It isn't the best place to buy a pet, but they have a lot of food and play-things to buy.

Boo. The grooming people at Pet Smart gave me the worst customer service experience I have ever dealt with EVER! Do NOT do business with the grooming department. Booo! I drove to the store location and made an appointment for 8:10 am the next day. I live in another town with a 30 minute drive and got there for the dog hair cut at 8:00 am drop off on April 2nd. I was told it would take 3-4 hrs to complete. I returned at 1:45 pm, and my dog was STILL WAITING for service ---FIVE HOUR DELAY!!! They hadn't done a thing. The grooming staff gave me some excuse that "someone died." I asked them "why did you do all these other dogs before mine when I had the earlier appt time." They replied they were "doing the deceased persons dog list first" before mine. I asked for my dog back and left, but not before being charged $40 for a shampoo. I spoke to the manager but did not get satisfaction to resolve the poor service and treatment my dog and I received. Boo, hiss. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with Pet Smart!!!!!

My dog was groomed by Brittani (sp) on Tuesday...it's now Saturday and she still smells AMAZING! I am from Houston, and regularly go to Petsmart for my groomings and my dog has never smelled this good for this long. I wish I lived here so I can go to Brittani ALL THE TIME. She took such good care of my fur baby and did such a great job.

Late December I purchased a fish tank with a built in water pump, that used Topfin filter RH-L. Early January I needed to replace my filter for the tank however when I went into the store, they did not have stock for the filter. I went in a week later when I was told there would be more from delivery. There was non in stock again I was then told to by a bulk filter pad without carbon and replace every 3 to 5 days till they got a new filter, I did this. Now its early February and even despite going in every week to get a filter there is non. Now do to improper filter being used and build up, even with regular cleaning, my pump seized and all the fish I had died. i was forced to throw away my tank and explain to my 3 year old why all her fish died. The store is the only one in the town of Abilene that sells Topfin which is a PetSmart exclusive. Online charges nearly a $100 for this filter when in store was only $14.99.

The workers did not greet me immediately when I approached the building. I asked for a skim, soy latte while I waited for Mr. Tinkles and none of the staff would go to Starbucks for me! Aweful! Mr. Tinkles was so distraught with the grooming staff he vomited when I placed him on the checkout counter and no one offered to clean his paws before we left!

Awful service in the pet grooming part. We bought my daughters puppy in for his first groom and I advised the lady that checked us in that it was his first time and he might be nervous. She assured us that they were used to dealing with nervous dogs and had lots of different techniques to deal with it. Not more then half an hour later, Jacob (our dogs groomer) called and said that we needed to pick him up immediately because he had gotten aggressive because there were too many dogs in there on a Saturday. We rushed back to get him only to wait for ten minutes while nobody greeted us or acknowledged us. Finally, a groomer named Carolyn brought him out and was so rude. Our dog was still wet, his nose was clearly red from where he had been hit. She kept interjecting when I was speaking to thhe manager even though she supposed to be helping someone else. No wonder, our dog couldn't handle being there. The manager said there are security cameras so I hoppe they review what exactly happened to not only our dog but probably more then countless other dogs. Do NOT recommend!

We go to Petsmart at least once a week for our dog and cat needs. (Get the app, save lots of $$) Every time we've gone we've always had associates greet us and be very kind. Today we decided to try the grooming services for the first time. We took our 3 (almost 4) month old pup for his first service. From the very beginning the ladies we are all very helpful and helped us pick/edit our grooming package to get exactly what we needed and only pay for that. Our groomer was Susie. Susie was very sweet to us and our pup. He was nervous the whole time which Susie said is expected from new grooming experiences but she handled him like a pro. It took a couple hours but when I picked him up he was perfectly clean, groomed from head to paw, and happy. He got the cutest bandana (she even let me pick!) and looked as handsome as can be. I definitely recommend this grooming service!

When I started going there to have my dog groomed it was ok, then today and last couple of times I make an appointment they couldn't find him in the system as if I never made the appointment. This time was the last straw I'm going to find a groomer that will have a better connection with me and my dog. We don't put up with incompetence when we have mani and pedis. I may be the only one with this issue but it just boils down to good customer service.

Unprofessional to say the least. Didn't inform that it will take 4 hours to groom my dog. Left me standing at the counter, while they helped someone else. (should have been my clue to get my dog back and go home). After a couple hours, I haven't heard from them, so I go into check. After going through 3 different people (they kept walking away and brushing me off), I finally ask for the manager, turns out she is my dogs groomer. She says it will be another hour and walks away. I let another groomer know that my dog has been here too long and I want him, she turns around and walks away. I'm thinking she is getting my dog, but no, I'm now just being ignored. So I get the store manager, explain the issue and he approaches the groomer/manager. Now they are acting nice and helpful (how convenient), he asks how much longer and she tells him 1 hour. I say no, I want him now. They bring him out and cut his nails (he had already been bathed) and finally I have my dog back. They didn't charge me and that was the only nice thing they did. I will not be back to this place ever again. My dog is too precious to me to have that kind of treatment.

We went in to get our cat some food because he has been throwing up. The nice girl at the cash register told us if he doesn't like the food, we can bring it back to exchange it. Then, she suggested we talk to her manager Devilenne more about our cats symptoms. Devilenne was SO KNOWLEDGABLE! She was a BIG help! She deserves a raise!

The second time coming here in the past month and each time the workers walk around and do not greet anyone or ask customers if they need any help. Today we asked a worker for help with teething toys for a puppy and was helpful with the information, but when asked to show us where she acted like she didn't want to help anymore. At the register the cashier named Sammy was very rude. She never smiled and talked to us firm and mean, didn't even thank us or tell us to have a good day. She seemed more in a hurry to get us checked out and out of there. Maybe it was just a bad day for her. I hope she's not like this to everyone!

I just called to make my dog a grooming appointment & they told me that they red flagged him in the system because of an incident that occurred where an aggressive dog bit him above the eye! They didn't even bother to tell me that he couldn't come there anymore! & other times that I've taken my dog there before, they always talked about how good he was & they enjoyed having him there.... I guess that was just a bunch of crap! So from now on I'm NEVER stepping foot inside that place again!

The worst customer service staff i have ever seen.I went to pick up my dog from her grooming.I walked in and there were 3 groomers.I waited until one of them finally asked me if she could help me.After I told her I was there to pick up my dog she asked another employee to go get my dog from the back.He promply told her he was going to lunch.I had to leave and come back later because no one would help me.Another time I was trying to buy a cat tower.There were no prices on any of them.An employee walked by and I asked her where were the prices.She told me that she was new and didn't know.She kept on walking to the back and never made an attempt to help me.The staff is rude, lazy, unprofessional, incompetent .I will never go there again.I wish they would put in a Petco here

Terrible management and staff. Only one check out line is open at a time and the check out line is always long. They do not bother to open any lines. I listened to them page someone to lane 4 but no one ever came. I watched as three employees were playing around in the grooming center. Finally, one of them came to the front and said, "Oh do you need help?" He then proceeded to the toys to check labels with still only one lane open. What a joke!!!!

Wow the employee that answered phone wanted to answer what he assumed I was asking and not what I asked!! Then wanted off the phone ASAP I wasn't done. I spend ALOT of money at Petsmart for my 3 Furbabies so yes I think bringing all 3 in for Santa pictures is OK. Wow not happy

I go here a lot. The staff are helpful and friendly but I feel like their knowledge is a little lacking on information like food and training. I wish they had a bigger selection of dog chews that were made in the USA. It would be nice if the had a frozen/Raw dog and cat food selection. Overall my experience there is always positive.
