Great place to relax for an hour or two while checking out the park and the castle. It was a little chilly that day, so we sat inside, upstairs.
I got the cream tea, which came with a pot of tea and two scones. The scones were pretty big and served warm, and though they were really delicious, I couldn't finish both of them. I liked both the plain and the raisin scone. Several of us tried the lavender grey tea, which was ok as a novelty, but not something I'd drink again. Very heavy on the lavender!
One friend got the afternoon tea, which should have come with two sets of sandwiches, a scone and a slice of cake, but they let her substitute another type of sandwich for the cake, so she got 9 finger sandwiches total. Her favorites were the ham and the cucumber, and she thought the roast beef was just ok.
The decor is very cute (though their tea sets included a Charles and Diana commemorative cup, which I thought was slightly weird) and service was relaxed and friendly.
