Takeout review: Overall spiciness of the sandwiches was a little disappointing. Spicy but def not hot like other Nashville hot chicken sandwiches I’ve had. Fries are nothing special - pretty generic. Also the chicken pieces aren’t bone in chicken, they’re more like dark meat chicken strips.

The special chicken burger was great. The fried chicken burger patty with honey made everything delicious. I definitely recommend this place at least once. The burger is unique.

Ordered a classic spicy sandwich on delivery, and it was delicious! Portion was huge too, could eat it in two meals. Will definitely order again. 🤤

Google
One of the contenders best fried chicken sandwiches in Toronto. The classic sandwich is huge. Get it spicy. It compliments the buttermilk ranch sauce really well. I also appreciate the chicken used. It's chunky and not stringy. I believe they use thigh meat instead of the breast to achieve this.

Google
i have been a repeat customer of PG Clucks for over a year now, every time i have it i am always astounded at how good it is! tender, juicy, good quality meat and a great selection of sandwiches. just the kind of chicken shop toronto needs!! the honey and jalapeño sandwich is a 10/10 every time and has become a fan favourite amongst friends! the fries supreme are a great addition to the menu, and to any order. i’ve only ever ordered take out, but i hope to visit in-store someday soon!

Google
First things first: it's delicious and you'll be fed. There is no door involved with this place, you'll order tru the window if they open it. You gotta wait ten mins in Toronto's cold in the street unless u have a car. Once you get your food it's good. But don't eat here on a date, it's messy to eat. The dude said spicy is too spicy, so i had to order regular whereas i enjoy spicy. I'll come back here when the weather is good and when i am very hungry. Overall yeah try at least once

Google
The food from here was ok, not horrible but also not that great. I had ordered the classic chicken sandwich, and my friend ordered the jalapeño sandwich. We added cheese but apparently you can’t make any other customizations. The food looked really good but honestly, the chicken was not that crispy and the bun was soggy. I waited about 10 mins before I ate it so maybe that’s the cause but it was disappointing. The portion size was good i almost finished, right when I got to the end there was a large clump of fat. But over all the meal was average.

Google
Everyone always says this is the best fried chicken sandwich restaurant in Toronto and I just cannot agree with that. I've had PG clucks 3-4 times, sometimes takeout, sometimes fresh from the store. The flavours are always on point, the sauce is great and they are typically very large which I definitely enjoy. My issue with this place is that I have never had a crispy piece of chicken from here. The first few times I got takeout I gave the benefit of the doubt as it had been sitting for a bit so it may lose crisp. After these experiences and all the recommendation I here from people I decided I had to try it fresh. I was super disappointed when even the fresh sandwich eaten at location was still not crispy AT ALL. Maybe I coincidentally got unlucky with on a bad day because I'm always seeing reviews where people say it's crispy but honestly I have never experienced crisp from PG clucks fried chicken. Having said all this I do still really enjoy the fried chicken sandwiches they offer. But I am a big advocate for EXTRA CRISPY chicken so if you are looking for crisp in my opinion there are better places.

Yelp
This is takeout only! Make sure to ask for utensils & napkins (if applicable) because no utensils or napkins were automatically included. We were staying in a hotel so basically used toilet paper to accompany our meal in between sporadically washing our hands. I saw zero street parking when we stopped by around 10PM on a weekday. -Fries ($5): Crispy fries with a fluffy interior. Would definitely recommend ordering as a side -Classic sandwich regular spice: ($12.50) The sandwich was super soggy, which I generally would NEVER judge since that's what you get when you order something as takeout right? Except the food is not available for dine-in! So everyone's sandwich is gonna be very soggy. Therefore the fried chicken was not crispy, and the bread was dissolving. The pickles were so delicious though, a nice sweet contrast to the savory flavor of the sandwich. Probably lots of potential if you can immediately start eating the sandwich.
google avatar

Yelp
Not a global foodie but this is easily the best chicken sandwich I've ever had and beats the chicken sandwiches back home in CA. The chicken is tender and juicy, and I love the sweet pickles! The sandwich is also HUGE.

Yelp
Stopped by on a Saturday at around 12:30. It looks closed because it's not actually a store you can go into. It's for takeaway, and you order at a walk-up window. My husband and I shared a Jalapeño & Honey (Honey Dipped Chicken, Pickled Jalapeños, Jalapeño Sauce, Ranch Sauce). One sandwich is not filling enough for two people but it is enough if you're just looking to try the sandwich, because it's pretty heavy. I don't think we could have finished one each alone. Overall, it was a great sammie. They use dark meat for the chicken and it's perfectly fried. The mix of sauces with the jalapeños is nice. I will warn you - it gets extremely messy because of the sauce. We ate it on a bench right outside but it was a bit difficult to eat without the table. But also, it's not something you'd want to bring home because it doesn't seem like a sammie that would keep well. If I ever find myself back in Toronto, I wouldn't mind trying the classic spicy sammie!

Yelp
Discovered PG Clucks when looking for the best chicken sandwich in toronto, and definitely left feeling full. Serious chicken sandwich. So big that my partner and I couldn't finish it. Popcorn chicken was just okay, I would just stick to the sandwich. Fast service but no seating, so either take it home or find a bench in the area to eat it!
google avatar

Jayme B.

Yelp
This is your standard chicken sandwich takeout shop. We wanted a late night bite before heading back to the hotel so we stumbled across PG Clucks and definitely to give it a try! We split a chicken sandwich. There was a bit of a wait since it was a busy time of night, but the weather was nice so we didn't mind the wait. Even though they were very busy, the customer service was not lacking at all. They didn't have any seating so it's definitely a place where you take your food to go. Unless you're like us and want to eat your sandwich on the side of the road while waiting for your Uber :). Anyways, they had regular and spicy chicken sandwiches; we went with the regular. It was a very good sandwich and it definitely hit the spot.

Yelp
I heard a lot of good things about this place but quite disappointed with the sandwich, I got the jalepeno honey sandwich, first off this sandwich was so sweet, I should've got the spicy chicken sandwich what was I thinking, this ruined my whole taste buds, now I can't eat anything for the rest of the day, overpriced sandwich, service was quick didn't have to wait too long for my sandwich, but this was not good at all, chicken was crispy and juicy that's a positive but the flavour was terrible, I will never come here again
google avatar

Leonard E.

Yelp
PG Clucks has a legacy and it sure lives up to the billing! The chicken sandwich was moist, flavourful, and heavenly as I savoured every bite. Staff were courteous and took pride in assembling the Jalapeno & Honey Signature Sandwich consisting of honey, pickled jalapenos, ranch sauce & jalapeno sauce on pieces of spicy chicken. My oh my....this PG Clucks selection packed a terrific fiery punch!
google avatar

Gayan P.

Yelp
Best chicken sandwich in Toronto for my money. Sure you could go to one of the chains like Chick-Fil-A, or Popeye's but trust me, this is way better, in every respect. The chicken is better, the fry is better, the bun is better, the condiments are better, and most of all, it all comes together tasting better than any other sandwich of its kind. Don't just take my word for it, look at the pictures. How inviting is that? I just popped over to the photos on Yelp and now my mouth is watering. I can't wait to have these guys again.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try this place forever. Finally one night we were craving some sort of sandwich and we came up with trying PG's we got the little chicken bites that were tasty and there were three different sauces for dipping, which we appreciate it and it was fun to mix it up. He got the spicy chicken sandwich with the jalapeños and I got the classic one with the pickles. The chicken was cooked perfectly, nice and crisp and really delicious spices. The bun was super tender. There was just the right amount of sauce on it. And all of the toppings on it suited the sandwich perfectly. We got the chocolate cake because it looked like McCains deep and delicious. It was a super rich dense chocolate cake with this frosting. It wasn't my favourite but I'm also not a huge chocolate person. It was all tasty and nicely prepared.
google avatar

Sol O.

Yelp
I'm writing this review just to say I really did not like the chocolate cake. Maybe I got a bad batch, but it was tooo dense and not moist enough. BUT - their fried chicken sandwich is the truth. It's damn delicious - definitely #1 in Toronto. Their chicken tenders are delicious too, but let me warn you: they ain't the small pieces you get at a Wendy's or similar. These things are monsters. Three may not sound like a lot, but it is. AND they are yum. If you're thinking of PG - less thinking, more getting. They're delicious.
google avatar

Daniel D.

Yelp
generally tasty, chicken could have been juicier and the sauce tasted a little too greasy.
google avatar

David Y.

Yelp
PG Clucks almost got an R-rated cockadoodledoo out of me. Almost. While I still think Love Chix has the best fried chicken sandwich in the city, this was a bit cheaper and almost as good. I got the classic regular sandwich (fried chicken with coleslaw, pickles, buttermilk ranch sauce) and added honey. The fried chicken was huge and meaty, properly piping hot, and really tasty. My only nitpick is it wasn't as crispy as I would've liked (it wasn't soggy or overly breaded though). The buns were a bit too thick (though I guess that helped hold the chicken down), the pickles/coleslaw were standard, and I would've liked a bit more buttermilk ranch and honey on there. Overall though, it was a great sandwich and I can see why people go headless-chicken crazy over it.
google avatar

Tiffany C.

Yelp
I don't think I've tried a chicken burger this massive and freshly fried as PG Clucks! It is a work of art. They use dark meat, which I prefer, and the chicken is super crispy and super juicy as you bite into it. I love the addition of the sweet pickles, tangy coleslaw and creamy sauce. It is so well balanced and every component has a purpose. The bun is also nice and fluffy to contrast the crispy meat. Dare I say it's the best fried chicken sandwich I've tried in the GTA so far! Note: this location is very small on the inside with only standing room. It's best for take out or delivery!
google avatar

Alekhya M.

Yelp
Really good juicy fried chicken sandwich that we really enjoyed. If there is one suggestion for the restaurant, it's to serve the sandwich in brioche bun. The coleslaw was delicious and the pickle was great too. Next time we are definitely going to try the jalapeno and honey chicken sandwich. We liked it so much that we are thinking it's on par with heartbreak chef and Penny's hot chicken. Again, no place to sit. So perfect grab and go. But wouldn't recommend ordering on Uber eats because I can see how the sauces can make the bun soggy.
google avatar

Courtney C.

Yelp
Given the rave reviews of this place I went in with high expectations. However, I was quite disappointed with my order. I got their classic chicken sandwich and their flamin' hot Cheeto chicken fingers. Given the fact that this is take out and it was during winter times we ate the food right away in the car but the sandwich was okay at best, the bread was soggy which is probably due to the massive amount of sauce. The flamin' hot Cheeto chicken fingers also didn't have much flavour to it either. Overall, it was disappointing but I feel like maybe they had an off day so I plan on giving it another shot sometime down the road.
google avatar

Tammy N.

Yelp
Got their Big Cluck Sandwich, Jalapeno and honey sandwich, and classic sandwich. Jalapeno and honey was interesting to try (sweet and spicy), but I prefer the classic sandwich. Chicken was fried perfectly and juicy too!
google avatar

Brett R.

Yelp
The cut of chicken is the thigh with skin on. This causes the frying process to be quite greasy verse using the chicken breast. I had the big sandwich as well. Not overly impressing however it was delicious.
google avatar

Fae Z.

Yelp
got the classic sandwich. was so big so really worth the money and was very quick. very substantial meal though

Jeff W.

Yelp
I dont know what the rave reviews are about. I have my suspicious, but I'll keep them to myself - if you know you know $. I got a hot chicken sandwich and the mac n cheese bites. The chicken was rubbery and undercooked, the membrane that connects the skins to the meat wasn't even cooked through which made for a slimy texture. Turn the oil temperature down a bit and leave it in for longer. I had doubts if the meat was even safe to eat. Sandwich came out lukewarm. The hot chicken sandwich's flavour was really bad compared to Popeyes. Not coming here again.

Yelp
Ordered this on Ritual for dinner, 'cause Covid :(, and IT WAS SO DELICIOUS STILL!!! Even after driving over there, driving back home, after it had cooled down for a bit - it was still the tastiest crispiest chicken sandwich I've ever had. MMMMMMMM I'm so full but I still wanna eat more.... We ordered the Jalapeno and Honey Sandwich, two pieces of chicken with coleslaw and oh my god, I can eat it every day. The Jalapeno and honey sandwich is to die for - there's sweet pickled jalapenos, ranch in there, hot sauce, and the chicken is honey dipped. Please go get yourself some chicken sandwiches!! It'll help you stay sane during this whole quarantine situation! Stay safe everyone!!!

Sarah G.

Yelp
Probably the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. I'm talking about the Jalapeno & Honey chicken sandwich and highly recommend getting it spicy. The combination of pickled jalapenos with the ranch and jalapeño sauces on top of the juiciest fried chicken breast slathered with honey is absolutely perfect. Sweet, spicy, creamy, crunchy and juicy - the flavour profile is out of this world and you will not be disappointed! Gotta love the chocolate cake too. Its like McCains Deep 'n delicious, but better. The banana pudding slaps. Thanks PG Clucks!
google avatar

Yelp
This is the best fried chicken sandwich you will ever have. The chicken fingers are great. The French fries are great. But the sandwich is absolutely amazing. You will definitely be full after eating here.
google avatar

Kanyawee T.

Yelp
I went back to try it again and it was not disappointed. The chicken is crispy and juicy as I remembered. Their spicy is pretty spicy so be careful when you order. The wait is a little long but it is definitely worth it. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
I give this restaurant five stars. I've been to PG Clucks about five times over the last 12 months, most recently in May. The Classic Sandwich is quite possibly the best fried chicken sandwich I have ever had in my entire life. The chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and the potato bun is soft and fluffy. The coleslaw and pickles are crunchy and their acidity balances out the greasiness of the chicken, and the ranch and mild hot sauce add to the overall flavour but don't overpower it. To make it even better, the piece of chicken is gigantic and barely fits on the bun! You can get the chicken regular or Nashville hot and you can't go wrong with either. I tried the Big Cluck Sandwich and I did not like it all. This sandwich has two pieces of fried chicken, lettuce, pickles, onions, cheese and mac sauce. Because there were two pieces of chicken and cheese, parts of the chicken were really soggy. The flavour of the cheese and mac sauce did not pair well with it, it was too heavy, and on a sandwich this big, the pickles did not add enough acidity or crunch - the chicken needs coleslaw, extra pickles and at least a little bit of heat to really balance out the flavours and textures. I also tried the Jalapeño & Honey Sandwich. The idea of balancing spicy and sweet ingredients on a greasy, salted piece of fried chicken is great but I found the sweetness from the honey didn't compliment the chicken quite as well as the acidity from pickles would have. Also, not having the both the pickles and coleslaw really took away from the crunchiness of each bite as well. With that being said, it was still a very good sandwich, just not on the same level as the Classic. I have tried the fried chicken pieces several times and they are incredible! All the good things you get from the fried chicken in the sandwiches, but in gigantic, crispy, dippable pieces that come with ranch and hot sauce on the side. I recommend PG Clucks to anyone and everyone that likes fried chicken. Five stars.

Yelp
Food: 5 Stars Service: N/A Ambience: N/A People have told me how good this place is and I did not believe them until I tried it myself. The verdict: I am a believer now as the sandwich is really good. You need to try it. The storefront is very small and located right next to the CHIN radio building. You can either order the sandwich or just the chicken on its own. I tried it in sandwich form and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The sauce on the sandwich was also really good and overall everything just blend together well. The sandwich was around 8 or 9 dollars so not too bad for the portion you get. There was quite a wait the day I was there even though there were less than 6 people waiting. I probably waited for about 15-20 minutes for the sandwich to be made so it might be a good idea to leave a bit of time in case. I definitely recommend trying this. I will definitely be coming back soon.

Yelp
This place was our saving grace throughout the pandemic. Easy pick-up window, online ordering, and THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN SANDWICH that we've tasted in Toronto. I will say we learned some things and we'd like to pass that on. Also sorry for no photos they went from bag to mouth and photos in a dark car aren't the best to share. Order when you're a few mins away or packed out front. The sandwich is best when you get it within a min after it's made. It's a big sandwich and that chicken comes hot so if you're ordering too far in advance it can get soggy. The balance of the pickle, slaw, sauce, and the chicken is heaven. The only other thing I've had here is the popcorn chicken and unfortunately, it doesn't hold up as well. The large piece of chicken used for the sandwich and in their fried chicken has the fat and juices necessary to hold up to the fryer but the little chicken in the popcorn chicken really needs a sauce. So if you got the sauce enjoy but I'd say enjoy one PG Cluck's Larger piece of chicken in sandwich or not.
google avatar

Sara F.

Yelp
Doesn't even matter how the food tasted bc The service was so slow and clearly no one was in any kind of rush. Go somewhere else.
google avatar

Thanuja V.

Yelp
I got the classic fried chicken sandwich and I must say it was better the first time I and it! Not sure what happened this time around but it was just okay. This was one of the first places I've tried a fried chicken sandwich and it is one of the best places in the city, so definitely check them out!
google avatar

Praveen P.

Yelp
PG clucks has been my go to Nashville fried chicken sandwich spot for over 5 years. They've been doing this way before the trend came to the city and similar places started to pop up. Everything about this sandwich is heaven, you'd be hard pressed to come up with a reason this sandwich is not it. There's crunch in every bite and its juicy throughout not to mention the perfect toppings and amount.

Denise S.

Yelp
The chicken sandwich was exellent. We also ordered the poutine! It was amazing! Fries were cooked perfectly with perfectly seasoned gravy and many delicious chunks of soft meaty cheese. It was the best poutine we've ever had and it paired perfectly with the crunchy chicken sandwich that was moist and juicy inside with a nice sauce and tender bun. Best tasting meal we had in Toronto!

Yelp
I'm not sure if you've been paying attention but in the past few years fried chicken sandwiches have exploded. They've become a major food trend. It might seem like they've been here all along - but not to the extent of the elevated sandwiches that we're seeing today. These ain't no frozen chicken finger stuck between two buns. In Toronto the main place that you need to know is P.G Clucks. Named #1 Best Fried Chicken by blogTO and listed at #2 on Toronto Life's Toronto's 25 Best Sandwiches Right Now 2019... They've gotta be the place. I visited their Little Italy location early on a Saturday evening and was caught off guard by how tiny, and I mean tiny, the shop is. It's literally a counter right on the street with about three feet of space to stand inside of the store. (They self-describe themselves as a "shack.") There is certainly no seating whatsoever. Not that this is a problem at all, I simply want to advise that this should be expected. It's strictly a take-away business. If anything, the casual nature of the entire operation actually entices me more, as some of the best food come out of little joints like this one. They've got their logo on the wall and there's a bit of a red, white and black colour scheme going on, and that's the entirety of the decor. I mean, what more do you need? Just give me the chicken. The service is more business-like than warm, but again, just give me the chicken. Once my order was placed I waited for about ten minutes until I was handed a brown paper bag of food. When it comes to the menu there's actually a lot more going on than you might assume possible from such a small operation. You can choose from sandwiches, chicken pieces, snacks & sides, plus they're doing popcorn chicken, and they've also got desserts. All of their chicken is deboned leg meat which they brine for 24 hours in a lemon and herb brine, followed by 6 hours in buttermilk. Then they dredge it twice (in ten spices) for extra crispiness. The part that I love the most about this is that they're using leg meat, which in my opinion is the most delicious part of any bird. They also make all of their sides and sauces in-house. While I love ordering chicken pieces, I was at P.G Clucks for one thing and one thing only: Their sandwich. In fact, they actually offer three different signature sandwiches to choose from. One of them is basically a Big Mac except in fried chicken form. (That's another thing that's super hot right now - food being made like a Big Mac.) Their classic sandwich would probably have been my natural choice, however I'd heard so many good things about the Jalapeno & Honey Sandwich (Honey dipped chicken, sweet pickled jalapeños, fermented jalapeño sauce, ranch sauce - $9.00). The honey dripping off of this thing was all that I needed to see. The giant, golden-fried piece of chicken was just begging for me to bite into it and I couldn't wait to crunch down. I loved the deliciously juicy, satisfyingly crunchy chicken, covered in sticky-sweet honey goodness. I loved the way that the sweetness played with the spicy heat from the jalapeños. Spicy-sweet is such a winning combo - it's the new salty-sweet. The fact that the jalapeños are pickled is so perfect because it removes a bit of the harshness from the spice and allows the flavour to shine brightly. Plus the pickling brings some acidity to help cut through the heaviness. And I mean, ranch, always. I liked the bun because it was soft, warm, and squashy. It didn't overstay its welcome and instead let the other ingredients do the talking. The bun also soaked up a lot of the honey, creating a whole delicious situation all its own. This sandwich is very, very good. I also ordered a side because I definitely wanted to try something that wasn't a sandwich. There are four sides to choose from, none of which are fries, which I found very refreshing. Coleslaw is always a solid pick but I went Potato Salad (Eggs, mustard, pickles - $2.50). I don't know how or why... But this might have been the best potato salad that I've ever tasted. It was so creamy and also zippy. It was kind of like if an egg salad married a potato salad and they had a baby. I loved the grainy mustard. This potato salad was way better than it had any right to be. Lastly, while you place your order you'll find yourself face to face with a case of donuts. If you are able to resist them, then you are a stronger person than I. The Honey Cruller (Made daily in-house with honey glaze - $2.50) was calling my name. As soon as I took a bite I exclaimed that it tasted like a combination of air and butter... Which is both magical and greasy. So, so soft and melt-in-your-mouth. Honey-sweet. The cruller might very well be the best donut that there is and this one was quite a good example. P.G Clucks made me very happy. They delivered on pretty much every level and gave me just about everything that I could have wanted. Was it the best fried chicken sandwich that I've ever had? It was up there
google avatar

Mj S.

Yelp
OK. That has got to be the BEST fried chicken sandwich, I've ever had. It's really is a 'food truck' in brick-and-mortar. No dine-in, just take-out! Sandwiched (hah!) between the CHIN building, and the theatre. It's easily missed! Offering fried chicken + side(s) (coleslaw or potato salad), and sandwiches (regular, Nashville hot, honey & jalapeño); you can't go wrong. Opted for the honey & jalapeño sandwich, and it was nothing short of amazing. IMAGINE: A big, juicy, piece of fried chicken coated in honey, smothered in buttermilk ranch, loaded with a layer of SWEET and tangy jalapeños, sitting on a perfect sweet potato bun. They were no average jalapeños either. Think, pickled and sweet, like the veggies in a Vietnamese banh mi! Literally. They also make fresh crullers. Not as notable, but still very good. Light and fluffy, and thankfully not as sweet as your average timmies cruller. They were quite busy on a rainy, Tuesday afternoon, and you'll see why! My only regret: I was too full to try their Nashville hot chicken too. Can't wait to be back!

Yelp
This is my boyfriends favourite sandwich shop! He's been badgering me to try this place for the last few months! We finally tried the classic regular and spicy sandwiches, immediately after opening on a Saturday afternoon. It took them about 10 minutes to prepare the sandwich, which contains coleslaw and a giant piece of fried chicken. The chicken is perfectly crunchy on the outside but tender on the inside. It's a huge sandwich, which makes it messy to eat but worth it - grab some extra napkins! It's also SUPER filling, I don't even want to know how many calories are in this thing!!
google avatar

Angela G.

Yelp
I love fried chicken and I'm on a mission to have the best in the city. The first couple of bites was pretty good, but I really wish restaurants would use breast, I hate biting into a sandwich and there's gooey bits. I did enjoy the coleslaw and pickles. What I really enjoyed was the fried pickles and Poutine. Probably some of the best in Toronto. The fried pickle batter didn't crumble, it was perfect. The Poutine was delicious. The gravy was a bit peppery and the cheese curds were super squeaky. I might even go back just for the fried pickles and Poutine. Keep Eating, Angela

Dora H.

Yelp
This is my favourite place for fried chicken sandwiches. I'm not usually one to be interested in fried chicken sandwiches and never one to crave it, but this place actually makes me crave their sandwiches. The fried chicken is just so succulent and juicy and it retains its crunch so well. (Less than $10) They also have a fried cruller (donut) that is so light and airy with a delicate crunch and drizzled with a delicious glaze. If you give me a box of these I will probably, no definitely, finish it all myself. It is definitely an unhealthy addiction...but fried dough is just so delicious . (~$2).

Karen L.

Yelp
I haven't had a chance to try this place out until today! I've been missing out! For $8 plus tax, you get an amazing fried chicken sandwich! We tried two kinds: 1. the spicy classic which had coleslaw and sweet pickles, and 2. the jalapeño and honey. Both had freshly fried chicken, bbq/honey smothered on each piece of chicken, and toppings piled on top. SO GOOD. I'd definitely come back here and would recommend it to everyone!

Yelp
Went again for the Big Cluck. Stack up on serviettes cause you are going to need it. 2 Pieces of Chicken, Lettuce, Pickles, Onions, American Cheese, Mac Sauce. Worth it. 5/5
google avatar

Nada S.

Yelp
My only complaint is that with a rather sloppy jalapeño and honey sand which there isn't really anywhere to sit and eat :( That is literally the only reason I have for complaint!! Otherwise hands down one of the BEST friend sandwiches I've ever had! Simply amazing! I highly recommend giving them a try.

Yelp
You can never go wrong with PG Clucks! A classic and something you have to indulge in if you are going to the Royal...
google avatar

Yelp
The classic spicy chicken sandwich probably the best chicken sandwich I've ever tried.

Maggie K.

Yelp
I can officially call off my best-fried-chicken-sandwich search. I found it! The classic spicy sandwich was SO GOOD, even when it means I need to sit in the car while waiting to pick it up, and eat it while in said car. I feel as though I have possibly eaten here before, while attending a sour beer festival at Bar Volo next door in maybe 2017 or 2018, but I honestly can't remember. I suspect I haven't, because I'd remember a sandwich like this. Perfect amount of sauce, coleslaw is delicious, pickles weren't overwhelming. It was *chef's kiss* perfection.

Yelp
Best word to describe.. Painful. Pictures show the lines and how slow things move.. Not necessarily the staffs fault (friendly), they are simply too busy for a kitchen this small. Gotta be super annoying to neighbourhood, sidewalk jammed with people lacking any awareness to step aside. Classic chicken was decent, I'd lose the coleslaw and only use white meat. Too long a wait for a sando.

Yelp
I will not need to order fried chicken from any other place again. The chicken is flavourful and well marinated. Crispy and nice spice in the seasoning. The coleslaw is outstanding. There's a creaminess that's isn't overwhelming like too much mayo, and tastes like there's buttermilk in it which lends a great unique taste. I could eat this by the bucket. Their bread and butter pickles are good enough to buy by the skid. This is definitely a gem of a place.

Yelp
Delicious and fantastic. Their award for best chicken sandwich in the city from a local publication was well deserved and earned! I go entirely too often for my waistline but I can't help myself, it's so good. Try this place out!!! My go to: Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich. I have tried the other sandwiches and they're good too but after trying the other options once, I know that the Spicy Fried Chicken is the thing that satiates my need. Because the place only uses fresh food sometimes they run out of buns before closing so I will happily go for the massive straight up spicy fried chicken pieces. Also, they have great, freshly made deep fried pickles. Try those too! This is especially awesome because they prep the pickles for frying on site. I doubt they actually do the pickling but they almost certainly are doing the cutting and battering in the restaurant as opposed to other places which just use frozen, out of a bag pre-battered pickles. IMPORTANT: They have no seating. The entire place has very little room for patrons so usually after ordering, people wait outside on the sidewalk. If it isn't a nice day out to go sit in a park or on a bench somewhere and you don't live nearby/have a car to sit in while you eat, you're gonna wanna figure that stuff out before you have a glorious chicken sandwich and an empty stomach but nowhere to put the 2 together.

Yelp
Their classic is hands down the best fried chicken sandwich I have ever had. If you go to the restaurant beside it (i think its called Cibo) you can order the sandwich through them and have it there. PG clucks itself does not have a seating area. Not a big fan of their "big mac" style sandwich. Their honey jalapeno one was also too sweet for me. Stick to the classic one the first time you are trying it. It's really amazing.

Yelp
Alright listen here guys. I'm not sure If I can write this review without cursing but this place is so f***ing gooooooood. For anyone who likes fried chicken sandwiches, this is the perfect spot for you. For $8 you could get yourself the most perfect combination of bird and bun. The chicken is so tender on the inside but fried beautifully on the out. The brioche bun is the perfect firmness to hold all of the juices together. The coleslaw is creamy but not too overpowering. It all enhances one another quite nicely. Will be coming back to try their sides so keep an eye out for an update on this review! Their sandwiches come in regular, Nashville hot or jalapeño honey. I can safely proclaim this place to be the best fried chicken joint in town.

Yelp
This one was a huge miss for me.. maybe a great spot for dark meat lovers but we didn't like it at all.. They gave me a bunch of gnarly super dark leg meat pieces that just totally ooze grease and just looks generally unappealing once you look inside the sandwich.. should've done my research At least offer a white option for god's sake, something a little lighter !

Yelp
The best chicken sandwich in Toronto. We got the jalapeño honey. Not too spicy, but definitely sweet. The chicken was Perfectly Cooked - with a amazingly crisp exterior and moist juicy meat. The potato bun was a welcome change from usual. Will definitely be coming back here, many many times!

Yelp
My expectations were really high as they say this is the best chicken sandwich in the town. Well, its location is perfect and accessible. The first negative point I noticed was the fact that they do not have Fries . The bun was really good and the sauce was great. However the main issue was with the chicken. It was really bland and shudve been crispier. I almost thought I'm having grilled chicken.
