Phantom Rock (ഫാന്റം പാറ) is one of those destinations that instantly takes your breath away — not just because of the view, but because of the entire experience surrounding the journey and the landscape. If you enjoy nature, light adventure, and scenic viewpoints, this place is absolutely worth visiting.
The highlight, of course, is the unique rock formation itself, which naturally resembles a human skull. Seeing it in person is far more striking than in photos. It feels almost surreal — like a piece of natural art carved by time. The location offers excellent photo opportunities, and the rock stands dramatically against the open sky and surrounding greenery.
The walk to the viewpoint is pleasant and manageable, surrounded by lush greenery and gentle slopes. It’s not overly demanding, making it suitable for most visitors, yet engaging enough to feel rewarding once you reach the top. Along the way, the calm atmosphere and fresh air make the experience even more enjoyable.
At the top, you’re rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding hills, forests, and open landscapes. The sense of space and quiet is incredibly refreshing. There is a parking fee of ₹30, and honestly, the view alone is worth every rupee. It’s a small amount to pay for such a memorable experience.
The area is fairly well-maintained and clean, and there are basic facilities nearby. Local guides and attendants help manage the area, especially during busier times.
If there’s room for improvement, adding a few shaded seating areas near the viewpoint would make it even better for visitors who want to sit and soak in the scenery.
Overall, Phantom Rock is a must-visit natural attraction. Simple, scenic, and unforgettable — easily one of the best viewpoints around.
