"Pharmacia Restaurant, a different dining experience Ever wanted a different dining experience in Lisbon ? Try out the new and trendy place, Pharmacia, which is designed with motifs from the pharmacy world. The restaurant is located in a 200-year-old building that once belonged to a rich family in Portugal and served them as a family residence. For the last few years the building has been home of the National Pharmacy Association in Portugal, and Pharmacia is located on the ground floor with a great outdoor lawn overlooking the river. The menu is such that people can order a few small plates to share with the other people around the table. Sort of tapas to share and not one main dish per person."

We sat in a beautiful setting, looking out to the river, having pre-dinner drinks. We managed to get a table on the outdoor terrace as we have been lucky with the October weather. The food here is excellent. We've never tasted a prawn sauce like this one (sorry, no photo). The pork cheeks were excellent with sweet potato mash and the cheese and meat board utterly divine. The oysters were a definite yes from me. The concept of this restaurant had us divided. The chef insists on the dishes being served one by one, and we were all to share each dish. We did and ended up trying dishes we wouldn't normally try, which suited us ladies, but the men were not so keen. Having said that, l refused to share my dessert, which was a carob and chocolate ganache cake, and l thoroughly recommend it. The other dessert in the photo is the créme brûlle which my friend enjoyed. My price is based on food prices only, which is worth the extra couple of euros for the view and superb quality of food.

We reserved a table for our Christmas Eve dinner, just 2 days ago. Decided to go for the chef's menu, which included enough appetizers and two main dishes. The atmosphere and the service were very good. As for the food... My husband and I both got horrible intoxication, we suspect it was from oysters, as we hadn't eaten anything except for great breakfast at our hotel. The night after our late dinner was a nightmare; today is the third day and we are still quite unwell and can't eat and leave the hotel room for extended time for obvious reasons. Needless to say, we are terribly upset.

This restaurant offers a stunning view over the river, creating a perfect atmosphere for a relaxed meal. The service is attentive and friendly. Their tuna and shrimp dishes are outstanding, prepared with a local touch that makes them special.

The drinks were very good. The food arrived cold, and we ordered a sandwich that never came. It was only brought to us when we asked for the bill, and we were told it wouldn’t be charged. We had to take the sandwich without eating it at the table. The atmosphere was very nice, but the food leaves much to be desired.

Staff was helpful and smiling. I liked what I ordered which were razor clams risotto and spaghetti with carabinero. Portions are big so ideal for sharing. The view of outdoor area is superb.

In a nice location in Lisbon is this great restaurant. Pharmacy is the theme and this is reflected in the interior, the cocktail glasses and the dishes. They have a terrace for drinks, a terrace for eating and they have tables for eating inside. We found it very hot inside and asked if we could eat outside. This was allowed, but we had to wait a while. This was not a problem for us at all. The staff are very friendly. After 15 minutes a table was available and we had a delicious meal. They have an extensive menu with different types of fish dishes many combined with vegetables. They have funny cocktails like the antivirus. We had ordered the vegetable tempura and the veggie burger beforehand. This was a little too much in terms of portions though. Next time we would just order a small appetizer. The vegetable tempura was very tasty. We found the mini vega burger a little greasy. For the main course we had grilled octopus. This was fresh, tasty and combined with the sweet mashed potatoes was very tasty. In short: a nice restaurant with good food in a nice place.
