What Ho, Apothecary! 18 Intriguing Pharmacy Museums
"This “Pharmacy Museum” contains collections of old pharmaceuticals, pharmacy furniture, an alchemistic lab, laboratory utensils, and ceramic mortars.
In 1925, pharmacist Josef Anton Häfliger donated his collection of pharmaceutical items to the University of Basel, founding the museum which is now located in the historical house “Zum Vorderen Sessel.”
The house acquired a printing press, which compelled Erasmus, the humanist, and Paracelsus, the alchemist, to take residence there in the 16th Century. The museum has accumulated a comprehensive collection of obsolete remedies used before the 19th century, outdated pharmaceutical books, and art related to alchemy and pharmaceutical science." - ATLAS_OBSCURA
Really interesting museum for anyone interested in medical history. You'll want at least an hour here, but could spend hours with the audio guide and exhibits.

A fun place to wander with all sorts of curiosities. Unfortunately all the English audio guides were out. There are limited English captions on the exhibits unfortunately, although most rooms have English language plasticised placards. We paid half price with a Basel card so €4. Not a very friendly guy at reception. We spent about an hour here.

This is a unique experience, especially for the scientifically curious. Great insights that weaves the interlocking history of medieval medicine, superstition, renaissance silk trade, fabric dyes to modern drug manufacturing. Needs 1 hour. I spent 2.

As a pharmacist, I can say that this is the most comprehensive pharmacy museum I have ever visited. The historical atmosphere, carefully preserved instruments, and beautifully arranged displays truly bring the past of pharmacy to life. My sincere thanks to everyone who contributes to keeping this remarkable heritage alive and accessible to visitors.

This museum is quite hidden, but that also means it‘s quiet which I like. This place has a lot of knowledge to be read and to be discovered. They also arrange many factors inside. If you like to read, this place is for you

Good and interesting museum. I visited it during Museums Nacht. I would recommend to come here when there's no so many people here. You can also buy interesting drinks here or snacks, I don't know, was it only one day or permanent option.

Really interesting things, information and the halls of the exhibitions have a lot of space to walk. They have audio guides that you can use on your own pace. Try the honey candies at the end of the tour, they are ready tasty!

Amazing collection! This is a small museum but it's loaded with interesting items.
I wish there had been more information about everything in English, but still, quite fascinating.
Staff is friendly; excellent gift shop.
