Pharos - Hvar Bayhill Hotel

This a great spot to stay in Hvar. The location is hard to beat with afternoon sun hitting perfectly, and unreal sunsets. The pool area is the highlight: modern, relaxed, and always with a good atmosphere. The staff are friendly and easygoing, and the crowd is young and social without being over the top. Rooms are clean, modern, and functional. Breakfast is excellent too, easily a 10/10 with a big variety and great quality. Overall, a solid mix of comfort, style, and energy in one of the best spots on the island. Location is also excellent, four mins walk from a beach and about ten mins from the city centre. It is uphill to get here, so if you're mobility challenged, consider other options.

The Pharos hotel is in a fantastic location on Hvar. We stayed at the hotel for 8 nights in August and wished it had been longer. The facilities are top class we made use of the pool every day and unlike many hotels there was plenty of sun loungers and beds. The breakfast was fantastic with a vast range available every day, we also sampled the food during the day and would highly recommend the soup. |The staff were amazing and friendly, making a real effort to make the holiday as relaxing as possible. The pick up and drop off of luggage to the ferry is an excellent facilty and makes the arrival and departure so much more easier when you dont have to worry about carrying your luggage up and down the hill. The hotel is very close the main part of the port and it takes less than five minutes to get from the square to the hotel. There is also a beautiful beach just a short walk from the hotel. |As a family of 4 with a baby, we had no issue with the hotel, there was a varied mix of people staying at the hotel and we never had any issues with noise or groups as mentioned by some reviews. The rooms were more than suitable in size, the addition of a balcony looking out on to the see was amazing, being able to watch the many ships arriving and departing the island each day. |All in all this i would thoroughly recommend this hotel and would definitely return to the hotel and Hvar.

The location was amazing and my room was very clean. The view from the room was fantastic, it was spacious, airy, and very comfortable. The pool area was also nice although the pool is not very big, the sunbathing area is large and relaxing. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of variety and everything was delicious. The staff were always helpful. The hotel is very close to the center, yet still very quiet. They also pick up the luggage from the port and bring it to the hotel, which was very convenient. Finding such a hotel in the heart of Hvar made me really happy I would definitely stay here again.

Terrible stay – uncomfortable beds, poor service, and bad design, only breakfast saved the trip Our stay at Pharos – Hvar Bayhill Hotel from October 10th to 12th, 2025, was a huge disappointment and completely ruined the excitement of our Hvar trip. We booked a double bed room, but were given a twin bed instead. This meant me and my partner had to sleep separately, and even worse, the mattresses kept splitting apart in the middle. Two nights of uncomfortable sleep is not what anyone expects after booking a “double bed.” When we raised this issue, the receptionist just shrugged and said all double rooms were full — no concern, no solution. It was like they didn’t care at all about the guest’s comfort. The bathroom design is another disaster. The door opens inwards, leaving barely any space for a person to get in and close it. Whoever designed it clearly never tried using it themselves. It’s not just inconvenient — it’s ridiculous. To make matters worse, the amenities gave the impression that the hotel is just cutting costs to fill their pockets. They provide only tiny sachets of shampoo, and there’s hardly enough shower gel for even one proper bath. For the room rates they charge, this kind of stinginess is unacceptable. The only saving grace of the entire stay was the breakfast service. The spread was quite good, with a variety of fresh and tasty options. The breakfast staff seemed more professional and attentive than the front desk. Overall, I would never recommend this hotel to anyone expecting a comfortable and relaxing stay. The management clearly needs to rethink their attitude towards guest satisfaction.

We stayed here for my birthday and I couldn’t have chosen a better hotel in Hvar. The service during check in and check out is very nice. You get to use the hotel facilities before check in and after check out which is very convenient. They also offer a free luggage delivery service from the port to the hotel and vice versa, which I found super convenient since the hotel is located on a hill. Also, the breakfast was super delicious. The location is just a 2-3 minutes walk to the main harbor. Something to keep in mind is that they charge you a €50 per day security deposit to be refunded after you leave. On the day of our birthday they even brought us a cake to our room. What a lovely surprise. The only critic I have is that the staff at the bar is not that friendly. If they were a bit nicer probably I would have even ordered more drinks since every time I went I felt that I was bothering them. All in all an amazing experience that I wish to repeat next time I am on the island.

really satisfied with this hotel. spent 6 nights here. pool was great and the staff is relaxed, friendly, and helpful. the breakfast selection was quite extensive. A/C in the room was totally sufficient despite quite hot weather on a few of the days. housekeeping also did a good job. and apart from breakfast the restaurant has a nice selection and at pretty reasonable prices compared to other options in hvar. overall, quite satisfied one comment would be that there don’t seem to be elevators, so probably not the best for people with mobility challenges

The entire team is very friendly and attentive, and you can truly feel that genuine hospitality is a priority here. The rooms are cozy, clean, and tastefully decorated, everything feels well-maintained and inviting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be happy to come back. Modern, well designed, very clean hotel. Great location, not a far walk to the port where all the shopping and restaurants are located. Please note that the stairs up to the hotel are normal by Croatian Island standards ... even very fit people will struggle on hot days. The continental breakfast is well done, lots and lots of choices of fresh fruit, yogurts, cereals, eggs and proteins. The pool is very clean and nicely designed areas for sun beds and lounge chairs. We are in our 50s and thought it was a good morning of age groups. Highly recommend!
