This was a great, no-nonsense meal, and honestly a really pleasant surprise.
I ordered the grilled fish fillet (didn’t want to wait 50 minutes for the whole fish), done with garlic and butter, plus morning glory, pad kra pao with rice, and a beer. Total came to about 780 baht.
The fish was delicate, perfectly cooked, with great flavour and a nice bit of char on the edges. It still felt light and healthy; not swimming in butter, just enough richness with plenty of garlic, which I liked.
The morning glory was also excellent. Not overly fish-sauce heavy, good crunch, not too wet. I’m quite picky about this dish and this version was great.
The pad kra pao was solid but nothing to write home about on its own, but it rounded out the meal nicely.
Service deserves a mention: genuinely friendly, helpful, and relaxed, with a bit of banter.
Overall, this is exactly the kind of place I want to find on a beach front but don’t always find amongst the tourist traps…simple, reliable, well-cooked food in a relaxed beach setting. I’d come back, especially when you just want a good lunch or dinner without overthinking it.
