Philippos Hotel

Perfect location. Get up, walk up two blocks to and jog around the Acropolis in the early morning, and walk up to the Philopappus hill in the evening. A must-do, gorgeous at night! Breakfast are plentiful, varied and delicious. Wonderful (mild) coffee. Rooms are clean. Fresh towels supplied every morning. (I did wonder about the half-bath size in our room. Never seen one before. Fun experience:)) Staff are all wonderful and friendly. Sofi or Safi (sorry I'm terrible at remembering names) was particularly helpful. She booked all of our tours including a private tour to Corinth with a smile :) They don't serve dinner, but their sister hotel Herodion does have a restaurant and bar, only a few steps away. Oh, check-out is 11 am, but they let us leave our luggage until we left for the airport at 5pm:)

This was a great hotel- we stayed on the 6th floor with a view of the Parthenon- our room was a good size with comfortable bed and huge balcony, but a very small bathroom. good breakfast. Room was quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great location- walking distance to acropolis and its museum, the plaza. Would definitely stay here again

The Philippos hotel is the perfect base for visiting Athens. It’s close to the Metro and easy to access the airport. Our room was quiet and bed was comfortable. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was generous and gave one a wonderful start to the day. The roof terrace offers a stunning view of the Acropolis. We stayed here for 3 nights. We would be happy to return to the Philippos.

Everything was excellent. The room was always clean, the breakfast was very good and varied, and the location was very close to the metro station as well as all the main tourist attractions. We didn’t need bus tickets because everything was within walking distance. We asked to stay a bit longer in the room on our last day, and although check-out is at 11 AM, we were allowed to stay until 2:30 PM at no additional cost. The bathroom was a bit small, but it had all the necessary amenities. I highly recommend it!

Philippos is a very good hotel. I spent 5 nice days in Athens staying at Philippos. Conveniently located near the Acropoli metro stop. Pretty good breakfast. The room was not large, but sufficient for me travelling alone. I can recommend it

Location is excellent, near Acropolis and Plaka at a walking distance. Personnel is very kind. We would come back. The room was good for the price and we had all basic needs covered, including breakfast.

Another wonderful stay. Even prior to our arrival, the staff assisted us with transportation from the cruise port to the hotel. Honestly, that was the only issue for the entire trip. The driver did not pull up to the front of the port like all the others. He parked blocks away and the 6 of us had to walk with all of our bags. As one of the party is an older woman and one was handicapped, it was a little bit of a problem. When I told the hotel staff about this, they seemed genuinely surprised. However, the price was the same as it would be if we were picked up at the front of the cruise terminal. I do not blame the hotel for this issue, and that is why I still gave a rating of 5. ||As for the hotel itself, we have stayed several times, and the location cannot be beat. The room was very large and comfortable, though the bathroom is a bit small. The large balcony with a view of the Acropolis is inspiring. The room was very clean and the staff was very helpful. ||We arrived very early, and the rooms were not yet prepared. The took all of our luggage (and there was a lot) and locked in a conference room. The offered us breakfast and it was very good. A pretty standard European breakfast with good coffee. They gave good restaurant recommendations and also arranged for a van to take us to the airport at a very early hour. ||As we departed prior to breakfast being offered, they asked if we wanted breakfast boxes to take with us. Again, the staff was attentive, and you cannot beat the location. When we return to Athens, there is no doubt that we will return to this hotel.

Our daughter and friend stayed in an Acropolis view room with balcony to celebrate their combined 30th birthdays (they loved the room!). I emailed the hotel to ask if it was possible to have champagne and glasses waiting for their arrival. The staff were very happy to arrange this - with a note, a little birthday cake and snacks on a lovely tray with the chilled champagne and glasses. The birthday girls were in tears at the lovely surprise and enjoyed the balcony and view with their champagne. Thank you Philippos Hotel for making their stay even more special.
