I had a great stay at Hotel Philippos during my vacation in Athens. It was well-maintained, well-staffed, and conveniently located, close to the Acropolis Museum as well as other nice features of the surrounding neighborhoods (both Plaka and Koukaki) like bars, shops, and restaurants. It's also close to public transportation and plentiful taxis (though the clerk at the desk also offered to call a cab for me when I checked out).
The room was rather small (as I had anticipated), but very well-organized and functional, making the best of limited space; it was clean, well cared-for, and comfortable. The included breakfast in the bright cafe area was a nice way to start my days, and the staff were kind and helpful.
I love visiting Athens, and I look forward to coming back!
