Phillip Island Nature Parks - Information Centre

I came here on bus tour and this was absolutely lovely! The penguins were really cute and the sunset was pretty. I highly recommend everyone to come. Note - you aren’t allowed to film / take photos of the penguins themselves when they start coming onshore. You can only take photos of the shore before sunset! After the penguins come back to shore you get to walk back to the penguin centre, and hear / see the penguins reuniting with their chicks. Super adorable. I also managed to catch a glimpse of a possum when going back!

The Penguin Parade is an excellent, well-organised attraction suitable for all ages—our group ranged from 3 to 45. Parking was free and easy, though there is a bit of a walk to the main building, which features displays, ticketing, toilets, and food options. We attended the Penguin Plus experience. Our seats were to the side, so we couldn’t see the penguins emerge from the ocean until staff allowed movement along the boardwalk, but once they gathered nearby it was wonderful to watch them head to their nests. The process takes about 50 minutes, during which standing, moving, and photography are not permitted. The staff were fantastic—especially the way they demonstrated the penguins’ little “dancing” movements as they arrived. My kids absolutely loved it. Afterwards, visitors walk back along the boardwalk with penguins waddling beside them, which is an unforgettable highlight. Accessibility support is available, including a golf-cart vehicle, and anyone with mobility issues should contact the centre in advance.

Had an amazing experience at the Penguin Parade (thank you Tom for your amazing guidance in the underground viewing space). Highly recommend getting the 3 park pass - Koala reserve and Churchill farm are fantastic and so much fun. If you have little kids I think Churchill Farm is the best family experience.

The sunset of this seaside is beautiful. Me and my boyfriend are enjoying the waiting time for little cuties back from ocean. We brought the seat cushion and wool blanket which is so helpful for the chilling and windy weather. The experience is unique and memorable. The guide staffs are very kind and informative at the premium area. However I do feel the noise level is a bit high hopefully it won’t disturb the penguins find theirs home at last.

Phillip Island is such a lovely destination! It’s easily accessible by car via the bridge and there are beautiful viewpoints around the island. The main town is charming and the beaches are stunning — perfect for relaxing or taking a walk. A great place for a day trip or a short getaway.

Strongly recommend getting the penguin premium or plus. The viewing points are so much better. It’s pricey but totally worth it! What a wonderful visit!

Love, love, love this!! Such a great time, remember to bring jackets it gets cold at night. We saw a massive amount of penguins and we explored the area during the day also and saw some penguins in their nests. Si ch a great experience and love the information given to us prior. Highly recommend.

Incredible experience, over 1000 penguins returning home every evening. We paid extra for premium plus seating and the penguins were walking right up to us. We went in June and Penguins arrived at 5:50pm. The rain held off just long enough for us to wait about an hour and half. Tip bring gloves, scarfs, raincoat and thermos in winter. It still gets very cold and windy by the water. I might add there’s no photos allowed past sunset but we got lucky and got to see this guy come back just before sunset.
