This is the perfect sunset spot to avoid the crowds at Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples. Gorgeous sunset view on the hill! Start all the way at the bottom steps to get the full experience (it’s a 15 minute walk to the top, worth the effort!) This temple is included in the Angkor Wat pass although my ticket never got checked.

While the old ruins aren’t much to see, the nearby Buddhist temple is peaceful and worth visiting. You can come early evening to walk around the village and stay for the sunset—it’s one of the most memorable in Southeast Asia! Don’t forget to bring Angkor ticket if you are foreigner else guard take small bribe for you to enter Park sunset temple ruins

Beautiful views of the rice patties, countryside and lake especially around sunset. I have never been asked for a ticket in the 30+ times I’ve gone in the evenings (past 5pm)

This location is a bit of a distance from the city, but offers a stunning sunset view. I took a tuk-tuk for $10, and the driver waited until sunset. Some visitors arrived by motorbike, which is a wise choice, as there's a mountain, and those arriving by tuk-tuk must walk (a short hike) approximately 30 minutes to the summit. Motorbikes, however, allow direct access to the top. The place is truly lovely, with a beautiful sunset, rice paddies, and a magnificent view. I highly recommend it.

This was definitely worth the visit. There’s a fun little ride up the mountain and great views from up top. The temple was built in 800+AD and is currently being restored. Be sure to leave a donation for the community when visiting.

Very nice little mountain with places to sit and eat to look at the view. Also known for a great place to see the sunset , although the day we went it was very cloudy.

Phnom Kraom Temple, located a short drive from the bustling town of Siem Reap, is an intriguing site that offers a glimpse into Cambodia's ancient history. Our family visit had its highs and lows, making it a mixed experience overall. Historical Significance The temple, built in the 9th century, is a fascinating example of Khmer architecture. As we explored the stone ruins, we could appreciate the intricate carvings and the historical context surrounding the site. However, detailed information or guides about the temple’s significance were scarce, which left us wanting to know more about its rich history. Scenic Views One of the highlights of our visit was the view from the top of the temple. The panoramic vistas of the surrounding countryside are indeed beautiful, especially during sunset. It’s a great photo opportunity, but be prepared for a bit of a hike to reach the summit. While the climb was enjoyable, some in our group found it a bit challenging, especially the younger kids. Lack of Amenities One downside we encountered was the lack of amenities at the site. There were few facilities, which made it inconvenient for families with young children or elderly visitors. More seating areas and refreshments would greatly enhance the visitor experience, especially given the heat. Overall Impression In conclusion, Phnom Kraom Temple is worth a visit if you're in the Siem Reap area and interested in exploring lesser-known sites. While the historical significance and views are commendable, the lack of information and amenities detracts from the overall experience. It's a good stop for those looking to escape the more crowded tourist spots, but it might not be a must-see for everyone.

A very good place to enjoy the sunset view over the high ground mountain. You can see the view of floating village higher than before. Recommended to be here at around 5pm to experience the best golden hour!
