How to spend a weekend in Phnom Penh - SilverKris

"I found the Phnom Penh Night Market to be a popular hub for exploring Cambodian cuisine, crafts and performances: vendors sell a wide range of food and goods, most accept QR or Bakong cashless payments, and the market aims to introduce both traditional and contemporary Cambodian culture through lively performances." - Jonathan Evans

Our guide brought us to this night market for some local shopping while touring Phnom Penh. The night market was pretty small and a thirty minutes would be more than enough if one wasn’t buying anything. They had a number of shops selling apparels made locally and prices were reasonable. Some food stalls located at one corner of the night market as well. Didn’t see a lot of people while we were there. I think this place caters more to tourists as well as I didn’t see any locals shopping there.

Very nice place to have local street food and for cloths and some accessories.. seating arrangements is on floor with mats laid down it’s quite different from other places , variety of food stalls sells good yummy food. There is a stage for live music and local artists were performing…

If you've never been to a night market, this one was excellent! Lots of shops and not too pushy vendors. There were helpful and open to haggling a little bit on their prices. There are several different areas to check out as there are the covered areas and all the shop owners along the street. Would definitely recommend this as a place to check out in this city! Support the local vendors

Cheap clothes all shops sells at the same price but sizes options are limited only small sizes available. Local style floor seating for eating local food. Didn’t try any food though. And few shops selling souvenirs and accessories for affordable price.

Very basic night market with most vendors just selling regular clothing items for cheap. Don't expect to find unique Cambodian paintings, statues, and souvenirs here.

A well-known tourist place (local and international) in the center of Cambodia - Phnom Penh Night Market. I visited here on my last night in Phnom Penh. Most vendors sells clothing and accessories, with only 1-2 shops selling souvenirs. If you're are looking for souvenirs, Russian market might be a better option for you. In terms of street food, there's nothing standing out except the boiled baby duck eggs (balut). Some of the vendors overcharge for these (it should typically cost 2000riel/egg). It is served with condiment such as plum powder, lime and some greens. Delicious. Can't speak for the rest and I am mostly into exotic food. Variety is lacking as most food vendors sells the same thing. For dining you can opt for table and chairs or 'picnic' style dining (see photo). They do have a stage and live performances in the middle of the night market as well.

Not really for tourists who want to shop. Local food can be found here but not souvenirs. Only 2-3 stalls have souvenirs and the rest have counterfeit/Class A items.

A well-known tourist place in the center of Cambodia - Phnom Penh Night Market. This night market is located near the river side. There are many vendors selling clothing, accessories, and souvenirs in almost all styles. You can even find some "famous" products like the pictures I posted😄 There is a small square in the center of the night market with a stage area, which seems to be used for street performers. When we visited here on Thursday night, we saw some local performers was singing🎤 The whole atmosphere was very chill~ However, compared to night markets in other countries, there were fewer food vendors here, and the food vendors were all close to the innermost area, actually it’s not easy to be found. What is very special is that their eating and seating areas are all laid out on the floor, let people to sit directly on the floor. It's quite a special experience. Overall, it’s not a bad experience here. But also not very special.
