Delicious Cultural Experience, Highly Recommended! We had an amazing time during the cooking class, especially learning how to make traditional Cambodian dishes like amok in a coconut. We made our own curry paste and used it for the amok and bbq skewers. It was not just about the food, the experience gave us real insight into Cambodian culture, ingredients, and cooking methods. The hosts were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel welcome from the very start! They are amazing. The class is very hands-on and interactive, so you really get involved in every step of the cooking process. We started by learning about local herbs and spices, followed by preparing everything from scratch. It’s a great activity whether you’re a beginner or already love to cook. What’s also great is that the class is suitable for everyone — whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or eat meat. The hosts are very accommodating and made sure each person had ingredients that matched their dietary preferences. The entire experience took around 3.5 hours, which was the perfect amount of time to cook, eat, and chat with the owner. The food we made was absolutely delicious, and we even got to take the recipes and spices home. This is one of the best activities we did in Cambodia. Highly recommended for food lovers and curious travelers alike!

My cooking class with Sreng was an absolutely incredible experience. I not only learned to prepare delicious local Cambodian dishes, but I also gained a deeper understanding of the country's food culture and history. Trying new, local fruits was a fun bonus! The class had a wonderfully homey feel, enhanced by all the plants, and cooking the traditional way over a charcoal barbecue was a highlight. I can't recommend Sreng enough for anyone who wants to learn about local cuisine and connect with people from the community. He was both friendly and extremely knowledgeable.

I have cooked several dishes with Sreng and his sister (amok, soursoup, fried rice) and it has been a pleasure to do so every single time. The space is lush and beautiful and both Sreng as well as his sister are lovely instructors and cooks. I can definitely recommend it ☺️

I have been to the cooking class with Sreng and his sister several times and have cooked many different traditional dishes. It was always an amazing experience. From buying the ingredients, the whole cooking process and explanations as well as the atmosphere, everything was perfect. They both speak very good English and answer any question, concerning food or life in Cambodia in general. What I really enjoy is that you can make any dish vegetarian or even vegan with them and they also tell you about alternative ingredients that are more accessible in Western countries. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for an authentic cooking class or just a fun and hands on activity in Phnom Penh :)

I had a delightful time here with two other participants. Not only was there the opportunity to prepare Cambodian dishes firsthand, but the host also provided a professional explanation of Cambodian food culture, ingredients, and liquor. The host and his sister shared a wealth of knowledge about various cuisines from different countries, presenting it in a manner that was easy for the participants to understand and compare. If you wish to learn about the 'real' food culture of Cambodia, I highly recommend visiting this place at least once!

We decided to do a vegetarian cooking class at Phnom Penh Spice. We cooked delicious vegetarian BBQ, Amok and a dessert. Sreng also told us a lot of interesting information about the food culture in Cambodia which we really appreciated. We can totally recommend the cooking class if you want to experience authentic local cooking.
