Phnom Tamao Zoological Park and Wildlife Rescue Center (PTWRC)

Sadly, I missed the chance to see Lucky one last time, lucky is a smart elephant. I had a good time going there. You better go there the early morning, I walked from the Chompa and Romdoul station, we are able to view all the animals by walking. I suggest you should bring some food before going there to feed animals as there is not much food selling there, you could bring some and buy some at the zoo. I was so happy feeding animal. I had lunch there, the food is so tasty, I order only M’ju Prek as It cost 50000Riel a pot, We eat as a group of 4 adults and 1 kid.

Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center was an amazing and meaningful experience. The animals are well cared for and the staff truly love what they do. You can see many rescued species up close and learn their stories, which makes the visit special. The place is peaceful, educational, and perfect for anyone who wants to support real conservation work in Cambodia. I highly recommend it for a beautiful and memorable day trip.

Nice animal sanctuary, with only rescued animals. We hired a Tuktuk driver for the day from Phnom-Penh. He drove us to the middle of the parc, and then we walked around. It is essential to have a motorized vehicule (or bicycle ?) as the parc is really big. We visited the parc on a monday, we hardly met other visitors during our 3 hours tour. This was really nice to have a quiet and calm atmosphere near the animals. Also, quite impressive work of the organization "Free the bears". There are many bears in this parc, and with the info panels we can understand how awful their life was before the organization helped them. Do not buy food to feed the animals, as the parc management put signs everywhere not to do so.

We had a driver from Phnom Penh for the day who took us around the rescue centre. This was needed as although we walked a fair bit, there can be quite long walks in between some of the enclosures. The elephants on the way in were great to see and the man working there told us some information and let us feed them. There were a variety of animals to see although we would have liked to see information on them and how they ended up at the rescue centre.

We love animals and interacting and had an awesome time here today. We spent about 3 hours walking mostly around the complex. Plenty of friendly and cheeky wild monkeys and vendors selling cool drinks and ice creams and food for the animals. You can’t feed the caged animals except for Lucky the Elephant it seems. But there were monkeys and deer who appreciated peanuts and mango and cane. We had read that it was rundown and the museum was closed but we still loved seeing the animals being well fed and cared for. We didn’t do a tour - just hired a tuk tuk and paid the USD $5 entry fee each. Spent another $10 on drinks and animal food.

Well, I guess there aren't probably a huge number of animals actually there, but it does seem like a pretty good opportunity for small children to get to know and learn about them.

PTWRC is a fantastic family outing! We had a wonderful time, and seeing so many diverse wildlife animals up close was an unforgettable experience, especially for my daughter. Highly recommended for a fun and memorable day.
