Yelp
First pho for us in Ashburn and we don't see a reason to try another place (I'm Asian, previously lived in Boston and LA, not new to pho). From other yelp reviews, doesn't seem like the other places are any more impressive, so we decided to try this one. Ordered pickup as it didn't seem the inside was anything special. Had to call it in, which is only slightly annoying. They don't have a working website, let alone online ordering. But ordering on the phone was easy. The person that answered understood me, and I could understand her, yay. She said pickup in 15 minutes. When I picked up, 20 minutes later, there were a couple groups dining in, enjoying a late weekday lunch like us. The place is no fuss, but clean, not crowded, and not dead. I'd eat there, but you don't haaaaave to eat there. Our food was all packed and ready to go. I had to peek in the kitchen and wave at someone because there wasn't anyone in the front for me to pay after pacing and dragging my feet for a minute. 5% discount for paying cash, and they actually gave me the discount. We got the A1 (fried egg rolls), #1 steak pho, and #2 meatball pho (and I asked to add steak with the meatballs). Got home. We were surprised they put the meat in the broth already. Kind of concerned, but it ended up being fine. The steak was still very tender, not overcooked by the broth. They included everything we needed and expected: broth with meat, noodles, lime, sprouts, basil, jalapeños, onions, cilantro, sriracha, hoisin, chopsticks, soup spoon, and napkins. The pho was hot and satisfying, veggies were fresh, portion size was good. The egg rolls were ok. We wanted something crispy today, whereas we usually get fresh rolls when available (and other reviewers say the fresh rolls are good here). They were crispy, even with the drive home, not over fried. But the filling wasn't anything great. But will definitely order from here again, explore, and try other things, like the fresh rolls and the vermicelli bun.
