Pho Golden Star Premium

The food here was amazing! The pho broth was super clear and flavourful, the meats were tender, and the herbs were really fresh. The staff were very attentive the whole time and kept checking in on us, refilling things without us even asking. Overall a really solid experience definitely coming back!

A friend recommended this place so I was visiting with high hopes. It was a snowy evening so there were lots of seats available yet the waiter offered us the table right at the door which I politely declined and opt for a table further inside. The cup and the plates are dirty. Thus, we requested to have them changed and the waiter gladly and quickly replaced it for us. My friend and her son were not feeling very well, so we decided not to share the food between all of us. My friend and her son each ordered a bowl of pho while me and my son ordered a platter and spring roll to share between the 2 of us. The platter arrived before my friend's pho and the waitress just pop it in front of my friend without asking who order the platter or are we sharing. My friend told her that the platter is for me and my son, then she put it in front of us. Then the waitress came again with the rice paper which compliment the platter and put it in front of my friend again. My friend have to tell her once again that this is for me and my son. Then, she came with 2 plates that provide us with a flat surface to roll the rice paper on and again she put it in front of my friend just to be told that the plates should be for us. Thank goodness that my friend is a patient person and didn't make a big deal out of it. I didn't take any pictures but downloaded pictures similar to what we ate. It is my first time using a rice paper holder and I found it very interesting. It took us a little bit to figure out how to use it. My son kindof screw up his first rice paper. It would have been excellent service if the waitress didn't assume we know how to use it. On top of all that, there are some fruit flies lingering around which is extremely annoying. That's the reason why I give it a one star. We spent $100 between the 4 of us, so I found this not worth the price. I don't think I will recommend Pho Golden Star Premium to anyone.

Pleasantly surprised by this new restaurant. While they are a pho place, only a single page of their big menu is pho. Most of the items are dishes I have never seen at any pho restaurant before. I'll have to come back and try them. This was my first time and needed to try their short rib pho. The soup and noodles were cooked perfectly. It came in two bowls like other places, but the noodle bowl only had noodles and onions. No other meat, unlike other places. The short rib was excellent. The meat fell off the bone with a single hand pull, unlike other places that required gnawing. But once off the bone, you had one big slab of meat which was tricky to eat because you couldn't separate it so it became a routine to take a bit of meat, then a bite of noodles. I would recommend asking for a knife and fork or bringing your own shears if you order this. My wife had P9 which was a seafood noodle bowl of some kind. It had a rich and strong crab flavour.

I visited Golden Star at the St. Clair location several months ago, and the authentic flavour and high food quality impressed me. When the restaurant opened its new location in Markham, I decided to visit with my friends last weekend. To be honest, I was truly impressed by the cozy atmosphere and spacious dining area. The food was still delicious, and the staff was very friendly. This place is excellent not only for small groups but also big families. Recommend everyone to visit and give it a try.

Visited this place by recommendation of family. We ordered: - Ga Rang Muoi - Spring roll - Short ribs - Pho Ga (Grilled Chicken) We loved all the food.The broth has a great depth of flavor. The fried chicken appetizer was crispy, sweet and savory. This is a must visit place when you're craving great Vietnamese food.

I had a wonderful experience here. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The staff were very friendly, always attentive, and genuinely caring, which made me feel welcome and comfortable. We had an amazing experience at this spot! Every single dish we tried was absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors and beautifully presented, especially Bun Dau Mam Tom and Xoi Cua. The service was outstanding — the staff were incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and excellent hospitality!

Came today for dinner and was impressed. Menu had alot of items that are not available at your typical Vietnamese restaurants. We got the bun ca hai phong, crab sticky rice, stir fried baby clams with rice chips and goat hotpot. Overall food was good. Would definitely order the crab sticky rice and bun ca hai phong again. You can get more rice crackers if you want. Sticky rice wasn't too oily and has a nice crunchy shell on top of it. I've been on a hunt to find a bun cha ca that's as good as Bun Cha Ca Hoang Yen in Vancouver and the broth here comes as close as I can find so far but needs a stronger dill flavor which would have made it perfect. Service was great. Super friendly. Dishes came out timely. Portions are large. They take Amex and not just cash and debit like your typical Vietnamese restaurants! Will return to try more dishes.

Excellent Vietnamese restaurant that differentiates itself from the many other Vietnamese options in the area. This restaurant specializes in northern Vietnamese dishes and has a large menu of unique dishes that are not found at other restaurants. Their dishes are also more communal to be shared. The portion sizes are very big, fresh ingredients, great flavour and friendly service. Highly recommend to try something new.

I was really excited to try this place. But was taken back and a little disappointed in both service and food. Food was average. But the pictures of the food did not match what you get. The food had a lot more filler than what they advertised. The restaurant was nice. Very spacious. But service was not top notch even tho when we came no one was there. We ended up helping ourselves to their cart of supplies. Would I come back? Probably never.

The service here was really good and our server was really respectful. This place also has big portions of food and the prices are quite reasonable. I would come back again.
