This is a comparison to Da Vang, which I prefer, though this is very solid. On the whole, a bit blander: less salty, less sweet, less fish sauce (and less nuoc cham given) - though I couldn't say if the intensity I'm used to is an Americanization or not. The grilled pork is finer (more like a meatball than Da Vang's semi-chunky grind) and less charred. The tofu skin is really interesting texturally - a nice, crispy contrast to the emulsified interior. The shrimp was small enough to be pitiful - size is not an issue in itself, but here it felt insubstantial. Otherwise, these are general QA issues that I happened to encounter but are fairly random when ordering com tam everywhere. The egg was fried at a lower temperature and with less oil than ideal, resulting in less crispy browning and a fully solid yolk. The shredded pork was on the dry side. The meatloaf was nice and moist, though it could've used a bit more woodear. The interior and service were comparable to Da Vang - on the somewhat dirty and basic side, somewhat rude by western standards and totally normal by Asian standards.

The food was perfect. The place was very busy, though. I ordered from the wok menu, stir fry squid and veggies. I do wok cooking over fire at home. So trust me when I say what I ordered was great.

Google
Haven’t eaten here in years and was in the neighborhood and hungry so I stopped in. Food comes out almost instantly which means it isn’t made to order. The pho wasn’t bad (I had the #114) but very small amounts of protein. The herb plate was also lacking. The place is very dirty and the staff barely acknowledges you in any way. There are too many other pho places in town to put up with this.

I love the hot and spicy Vietnamese style! My Mom from Saigon was very pleased too. I’ve been back every week for my favorite spring rolls

Google
I’m absolutely disgusted right now. I found a booger in my spring rolls. I understand that other people handle my food & that accidents can happen, but this is just so gross. I really don’t think there’s any way to fix this. Thank God I didn’t eat it. I ordered four spring rolls from them; usually, their food is really good, and I don’t have these kinds of issues. But finding a booger in my food? I just can’t deal with it. update I called them and tried to have them rectify the situation. They blocked my number from the restaurant and basically left me on hold and decided not to respond to me. DO NOT unless you want your food tampered with. Super unprofessional and disrespectful.

Google
I really enjoyed this place. I sat at a table next to an older couple. The way the server chatted with them you could tell they were regulars. If I lived closer I would be a regular. This was my first time here. I'll definitely stop again if I'm in the area. I got the number 26. Holy cow was it good.

Google
Best pho in AZ! Trust an asian. I take everyone I know here

Google
Best pho in town with good prices!. I usually get their pho noodles with beef and tripe. I also order their egg rolls or spring rolls. The one time I ordered their banh mi sandwiche, I was not impressed. They have a lot of seats, so theres hardly any wait time. For parking, you can park in the back of their restaurant.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite place to get pho in the valley. I go out of my way to stop by here anytime I crave pho. Their meat, broth, and veggies are amazing as well as the perfectly textured noodles. I also get their shrimp and pork spring rolls as a side occasionally. They are good on their own, even before dipping them in the sauce. It's usually quite busy at this location, especially on weekends during lunch time. Even so, I haven't waited particularly long to receive my order once it's placed. Staff has always been helpful with good attention to detail. One of my friends who I usually go with to Pho Thanh doesn't like green onions inside her Pho, and they are always accommodating. (Yes, some places don't always listen and add everything anyway!) Another great thing about this location is their fresh beverages. You can get pennywort juice and sugarcane juice at the counter by the register, which are great refreshments for the hot weather starting up.

Yelp
Great Pho and delicious Bun thit nuong! Sugar cane juice is a must, especially on a hot summer day! I also tried the che bap, com ruou and che sam bo luong and they were top notch. Friendly service. For sure coming back

Yelp
Was craving Pho the last few weeks, and with limited mobility (because i sold my car, im embarking on my Digital Nomad /Expat life Friday.) I walked to this location after reading decent reviews. Located ina little no frills strip mall of Asian business's, dont expect any banter these folks show no emotion, and customer service is essentially non existant, I went outside my typical comfort zone and chose the Bon Bo Hue, which had Pigs blood and other unusual items in it. It was ok nothing special. So the reason i give this a 4 star is because the portion size's are huge enough for 2, which creates a savings, and the eggs rolls were delicious. Customer service bad and the soup wasn't that hot.

Yelp
This restaurant is in the hood, but it's central Phoenix lol we come here when we're in the area, but not often or when we want milk tea (my fav spot for drinks) next door. It's pretty busy here and food does comes quickly. The food is fresh and good.

Yelp
I live east mesa, drive pho tanh almost 1 hour , every week I & my hubby go to Pho Thanh, Good price ,good food

Yelp
Definitely my go to restaurant for my Vietnamese creating. This restaurant is big, so seating is relatively fast, but be patience if the restaurant is full since waiters some times doesn't know if you're served or not. In terms of my go to, I definitely get the pho dac biet- basically a combination of beefs ( beef round slices, beef brisket, tripe, and meatball) Additional I would add a beef rib for an extra $4.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! The perfect hole in the wall that I've been searching for. Growing up Vietnamese, I always crave authentic Viet food that my mom cooked for me growing up. Her pho is definitely the best (I may be biased here), however the pho at Pho Thanh comes very VERY close. I came here with a party of 4 on New Year's Day for lunch, and it was packed. However, we were still seated immediately. The server speaks both Vietnamese and English, so communication shouldn't be an issue. There was a little bit of a wait to get our order in since it seemed as if there was only one person taking orders, but after our orders were placed the food came out quickly. This was my second time here, and definitely not my last. The pho is for sure the star of the show, however I'm looking forward to trying the many other dishes they have in their menu.

Yelp
Pho Thanh always hits the spot. Was craving Vietnamese omelette and spring rolls, and the consistent quality of the food here has surpassed my expectations over the many years I've been coming here. Did not have Pho today, but can tell you that the chicken pho here is Chefs Kiss, my favorite ever. Henry and Tuna will always greet you like family and ensure that your order is perfect every time, thank you. Grade A+
google avatar

Yelp
This place is pretty good! Very authentic and old school mom and pop shop. The pho was good. Not the best I have ever had but very strong bowl of pho noodles. I would highly recommend and happily eat this again Parking lot with 20 or so spots shared with 4-5 different businesses. When I came at 6pm, most of the lot was full.. but I ended up getting a spot.
google avatar

Jose A.

Yelp
We were craving Pho and decided to try a new spot, that spot being Pho Thanh. Upon arriving, the restaurant was fairly busy. We sat and shortly later were waited on. Ordered our drinks and food. I chose the Seasoned Shredded Pork Spring Rolls and the Beef Rib in Spicy Beef Soup. The Spring Rolls weren't my favorite but the soup was delicious. The ribs were flavorful and suited the soup well. I was expecting a bit more sickness but with the hot sauces on the table, that was an easy fix. The restaurant has plenty of seating but my one complaint is that a line forms at the pickup and pay counter which is right by some of the tables. During our visit, the line formed right next to us which made eating a bit awkward. Other than that, I would likely return for another visit.
google avatar

Vinitha V.

Yelp
Very busy pho spot, really glad i ordered for takeout. Food was ready very quickly just had to wait in a line to pick up order. The person working the register was very efficient and handled the crowd very well. The quality of the pho was so good and they had a great variety of pho options compared to other places. They got our order perfectly because we had gotten extra limes. I am very impressed with the establishment and will be back again soon!
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
The best beef pho that I've tried in Phoenix. I'm so happy that I stumbled upon this place. I love the open seating and the table options for carry out items and forks if you need to utilize them. They also provide chili oil at a table that guests can get it for themselves. I have been here more than a few times and every time it tastes delicious. Service is good and quick.
google avatar

Nai A.

Yelp
This is a traditional Vietnamese restaurant from the tables to the cashier and Togo order counter. The food was reasonably priced. The pho broth was good and the banh xeo was delicious. We tried to ask the person that brought out our food for ice coffee and she just ignored us as she's sitting all our food on the table we asked again and yet again she ignored us. I think she didn't understand any English.
google avatar

Yelp
The seafood pho was alright but my husband was looking for the shrimps, fish, etc. Fried pork chop taste is a little bland. There were 2 or 3 servers taking orders (it was busy). But the food came out quick and was hot. I just prefer my pork chop to have more sauce/marinated more. Seafood pho to have more shrimps/fish

Yelp
I loved the pho here! Good pho, great prices, lots of seating, decent number of parking spots. Fast service. We came on a Saturday afternoon and were seated immediately. We got the #12 pho with beef/steak which was $10.95 - decent sized portion. The broth was clean and flavorful. We also got the pork/shrimp spring rolls which was $3.95 for two - they were on the smaller side but definitely appropriately priced. I also got the cafe sua da Vietnamese iced coffee which came in the little coffee strainer with condensed milk - wait for it to finish dripping, then use the spoon to mix the coffee with the condensed milk, then pour it into your glass of ice. Looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
I wanted to try Da Vang but it was closed so I yelped the nearest spot to that and got this place. I'm glad for the detour because it was delicious! The food came out quickly and hot! I will be back!

Yelp
We absolutely LOVE this place! The staff/kitchen is always consistent and the food is superb! Seriously, one of the absolute best Vietnamese establishments in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area!

Yelp
This is my go to place for Vietnamese Restaurant in Arizona, very good Food and service, i really recommend!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Wowowow. Best viet I've had in Arizona. Can you believe it? It's very busy and nostalgic here; meaning you get reminded of all of the Viet restaurants that make all of the classics. Coming from Philly, I'm very spoiled with authentic and delicious Viet food. We had amazing bun bo hue and pho with the big ribs. My family also said the bahn mi "was the best they had in their life". Everything tastes fresh, they have actual holy basil & perfectly seasoned and not oily. Vibes are not much to brag about but you come here for the food! Plenty of seating and they're always busy so be patient. Highly recommend!

Marko N.

Yelp
Excellent bo kho combination bowl, very good broth. I also enjoyed the Thai tea as well. Appreciate the early hours of operation too.

Yelp
Ok normally this is my go to for pho. In the past they have been super busy but super fast and efficient. I don't know what happened today but we walked in (my son and I) and there was a crowd by the door. They do it on an honor system and get you seated somewhat quickly. Then... You wait... And wait... And wait... We got here around 2:15, got seated by 2:30, and ordered about 5 min later. We got two bowls of pho filet, 2 orders of egg rolls and one order of spring rolls. They had to spit a long table to fit 4 different parties. 30 minutes later... Still no food. When it finally arrived the spring roll was flavorless, even with the peanut sauce, the pho broth was also rather flavorless which surprised me. Usually I don't have to add much to their broth to enjoy it. Today I had to add almost every sauce they had available. So food today was meh Service super slow (my husband and other kids went to a different place. They left home after us but had gotten their food and had almost finished eating by the time we got our food) Ambiance was super crowded. If this had been my first time, I wouldn't be back. Because I know the potential, I may try again not on a weekend.

Yelp
Vegetarian I am, so the review will be going towards that route. See my review for Pho Noodles to get an idea the difference between vegetarian pho served at a vegetarian restaurant versus a Vietnamese restaurant. Pho Thanh falls in the latter and is pretty comparable to PT Pho and Pho Noodles. I had the goi cuon tofu and the bun bi chay. The first comes in two rolls and the latter in a huge bowl. Eating these together would be too much at one setting, so I actually had these on separate occasions. Both wonderful. The peanut sauce is on point for the former as well as the texture of the tofu helps substitute for the normal shrimp and pork you would have with normal goi cuon. And the bun bi chay is hearty with the flavors popping for the tofu. Overall, great food. When you are done, as with many Vietnamese restaurants, pay at the register. If you get up sneakily to "use the bathroom," you can pay for the meals of guests and not fight over the bill. :)

Yelp
Pretty gold standard pho, would get again especially for the value $14~. Suong bo - wanted to try the pho with the beef rib but overall prob wouldn't get it again tho because meat was tough. Good portion however.

Joseph M.

Yelp
Great food 5 stars, but the service of communication is horrible - they speak very limited english.

Yelp
Yummy, yummy, yummy!! This place is a little treasure. My friend recommended this place to me and I'm happy she did. I am always on the hunt for good pho! You can't really beat the price here. The portion sizes are generous and it's so affordable. The eggrolls were especially delicious and the spring rolls were equally good. I liked the mint inside the spring rolls, which was surprising for me. You only get two per order, but they're about four dollars per order, so go crazy! The pho tai was huge. The broth was rich and fatty, and had a good flavor. In fact, I would place this in my top five for sure. They also are not stingy with the side accompaniments. The bowl is equally loaded with goodies. The service is quite fast-paced as pretty much any other Vietnamese restaurant. Definitely a family run business but they're doing it right. I think in total we spent $30, which included two bowls of pho, and the spring rolls and egg rolls. This place is definitely worth a try and after you're done, it's connected to a Boba and ice cream shop next-door. Give them a try too, and especially the taro flavor It's delicious!
google avatar

Quynh P.

Yelp
This restaurant is huge, which worked out great for our stroller. All the dishes we ordered were tasty and came in large portions. Their bbq/ grilled pork (thit nuong) is not a piece of grilled meat. They are some sort of blend mixture of pork, seasonings and other things. It is still very good, just not what we thought it would be. The restaurant is linked to a milk tea and ice cream shop, and they let us order drinks to consume with our meals. We would come back here again the next time we are in town.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Dirty food with insects! This place would have failed a health inspection in California, but Phx seems to be more relaxed, hence my cricket rice that was served to me on Jan 1, 2025. Pho tasted great until I realized there was an insect in my food. I will never eat here!!
google avatar

Yosef M.

Yelp
We stopped by to eat some Pho after our morning hike. We chose this spot because of the good reviews this restaurant had. We got an order of egg rolls and two bowls of pho with the big beef bone and that was sooo worth the add on price. The pho came out hot and delicious and our server was very nice. We will be back when we are back in the Phoenix area and will totally recommend this spot to our friends!
google avatar

Alishia R.

Yelp
My daughter and I stopped because I was craving pho (which is a once a week then). It was so good hot fresh and they had tendon which I LOVE! It was priced well and really good. I was expecting my daughter to get rice but surprisingly she got pho was well and she ate it ALL! The service was nice and our server was friendly. All in all one of my top pho spots near me!
google avatar

Darya S.

Yelp
Not a fancy place, but spacious restaurant and friendly service! The menu is 3-4 pages, so you'll have lots of things to choose from. They generally have great food with plentiful portions and authentic taste. My friend and I shared the spring rolls and the egg rolls, and both were satisfying appetizers. We each ordered the pho with all the meat, I think it was #114. It is such a huge bowl! I don't even want to know what the XL size looks like! It has tons of rice noodles, meat, and delicious broth. One disappointment was the banh mi orders, which is why I have to take off a star. I ordered the shredded pork and the BBQ pork banh mis and they were absolutely awful. They barely had any ingredients in them, the bread was stale for both, and the portions were so small! I didn't even finish them. So I'd stay to stick to the pho here.
google avatar

Nikki L.

Yelp
Large, spacious pho restaurant. I ordered a pho dac biet. The pho soup, the most important part of any pho was decent, light, and salty beef broth (with onions and green onions in it.) The meats and meatball were rough chopped and the noodles were typical pho noodles. Also ordered cha gio, I found it on the oily side and the cha gio used egg roll wrappers instead of the traditional rice paper. I also had a che 3 mau, which was just okay as well. Red beans, mung beans, green jelly, coconut milk and crushed ice were combined to make a sweet dessert. I think I would stick with pho as the selling point here. It was good enough. The other side orders were mediocre.
google avatar

LaNesa M.

Yelp
Pho was very flavorful. The service was quick. Definitely will be coming back 10/10 recommend

Yelp
This place is the real deal! When you walk in, it even *smells* legit, like that authentic, old school Vietnamese restaurant smell. It was so nostalgic to my childhood of eating at Vietnamese restaurants in the SF Bay Area. If you know, you know! It automatically felt like a warm welcome. The menu here is extensive. They have all of the common Vietnamese restaurant staples, plus a few more classics (nem nuong, banh canh, banh xeo) you don't always see on menus in AZ. We ordered the pho filet, goi cuon (spring rolls), and the bánh xèo. The bánh xèo was HUGE! It was about 1.5x the length of my hand and probably as big as my face. The crepe tasted delicious. My only gripe was that it was filled to the brim with bean sprouts, and several bites were missing pork and shrimp. I personally would prefer a higher protein-to-sprout ratio, but maybe some people love their bean sprouts that much. Regardless, it was tasty, especially when packed into a lettuce wrap with all of the complimentary herbs and dipped into the nuoc cham. The pho filet was also great! The broth was a tasty, clean, no-frills beef broth. The filet mignon was super tender. No wonder so many people ordered soups, even in the middle of summer. I would definitely be back when I'm on this side of town!
google avatar

Harley J.

Yelp
I was excited to find a new Pho spot but was surely let down. The pho noodles seemed to be soggy and overcooked with a layer of oil that sat on top of the broth. As I went to pay I noticed "Best of Phoenix" awards hanging on the wall. Surprising to say the least. I am now suffering from a horrible stomach ache. I will sadly not be back :(

Lupita L.

Yelp
First time eating here, I got #51 Bún Bò Hué with no blood no feet and it was delicious so many flavors and the spices are just perfection! I will definitely be coming back :)
google avatar

Nala K.

Yelp
I love love love this place! Amazing service and great food and the best rice dish I've tried here in AZ! I love the quality of everything and the soul that comes with the rice dish really tops it off. The Thai tea is absolutely amazing as well! I also have enjoyed their pho and the vermicelli bowls too! It can get packed but I always get seated quickly and the atmosphere is always lively! A great place to eat indeed!
google avatar

Elisabeth Y.

Yelp
Grateful to have found this place and saved me from my cravings! Went to another returns last night and wasn't doing it for me...so the next day went on a hunt and found this place on social media! Boy was I not dissapointed the menu is extensive with all the options you can think of! Then the pho came out in a few min and the sprouts were fresh! They have dessert options that you don't normally find! This place is a gem and I'll definitely be back before I leave town. First Asian spot I found and liked in Arizona.
google avatar

Steven K.

Yelp
I tried Pho Thanh a long time ago when I wasn't a very big fan of pho but years later I now love pho so wanted to give them another try. I ordered the brisket pho, grilled pork bahn mi, and an order of spring rolls. The pork in the spring rolls tasted a little funky and the peanut sauce was lacking flavor. The pho broth however was very delicious and the brisket was plentiful. Bahn mi was decent but I have had much better. I would come back for the pho but would probably skip the other items.
google avatar

Burke P.

Yelp
My family and I went for dinner and tried the Phó! The gentleman who seated us was welcoming and polite. The Menu has a lot of real traditional Vietnamese dishes to try. I tried the Beef Phó with meatballs, beef tendon, brisket. The broth was very flavorful and it was a very large bowl bigger than other places I have been to. It had more meat and the sweet basil, jalapenos, bean sprouts , Ngo gai ( culantro) It was hot and the noodles very nicely cooked. They also have other Chile sauces if you like. We also tried the fresh spring rolls with fresh peanut sauce. Very good. I finished my dinner with a fresh drip vietnamese coffee! The place has plenty of seating more like communal style long tables.. The food is not expensive and reasonablely priced. We will be back again.
google avatar

Kat V.

Yelp
Service is quick for both dine in and take out. Everything is delicious. I never find anything that are not good. Bun dry noodle is delicious. Spicy bun noodle soup is so good. Pho is good. Egg noodle is good. Rice plate with meats are delicious.
google avatar

Crystal M.

Yelp
So far my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Maricopa County. I love vegan Vietnamese food. I actually Vietnamese food but I'm vegan & they complement each other very well. I've tried several other Vietnamese restaurants in Phoenix, Tempe and Mesa, so I may not have tried all of them but so far this one is my favorite. The vermicelli bowl is a staple favorite of mine. The neighboring Kwon restaurant has delicious fried rice. They have really good vegan bánh mì & spring rolls. I even tried their coconut milk taro pudding, which was delicious. Price is in line with what you would expect. Service is friendly and quick. Restaurant is large. I'm a fan.
google avatar

Reyna B.

Yelp
We got spring rolls, bun bo hue, and beef pho! All of the dishes we had were good and reasonably priced. Portions were huge and service was prompt.
google avatar

Emily P.

Yelp
Horrible horrible service! The older man tosses our order in one spot of the table and has a really bad attitude. Food is mediocre. Bum thit nuong have very skimpy meat as pictured. Rice pork chop dish have lots of fat. Won ton is actually pretty good. I wouldn't come here again. Not a pleasant first time experience
google avatar

Judy L.

Yelp
I was greeted as soon as I walked in. I was sat immediately close to the entrance. I waited for my friend as I reviewed the menu. They dropped off water quickly. My friend showed up and they came back to asked if we wanted anything to drink and are we ready to order. We were both ready. I got the Cha Gio (Deep fried pork egg rolls) & Com Tam Thit Nuong (Grilled pork and broken rice). The egg rolls came first and they bought the non-fried ones. Love that they quickly bought over the fried egg rolls pretty fast. Thank you. Then I grilled pork rice plate was served. It was ok. The grilled pork was not as flavorful as other places that I have had this dish.
google avatar

Andrew L.

Yelp
One of the best bun bo hue I've ever had. This bowl of noodles does not lack flavour or meat. There is an assortment of meats and I opted for the beef rib too! The egg rolls were nice and crispy, and tasted great! A must try!

Yelp
I walked in on my lunch break and my parents decided to meet me which is awesome. The staff was nice and the environment was friendly

Yelp
No frills, no nonsense, no pleasantries. Lots of seating, fast service, excellent food!!! Perfect experience for someone who just wants to get in there and eat some pho!!
