Was skeptical with the high number of reviews, thought that it would be a tourist trap. But during my visit there were many locals dining there. Food was great!

My 2nd day in Hanoi and my first try of Pho. This was a good pho. This will be my first reference here and let's see if I can find better than this. It cost 60,000 VND. No wait and quick service.

People say this pho place is a hidden gem, and I agree. It's located in an alley, but it's close to Hoan Kiem Lake, so it's very easy to find. It seems like a lot of locals eat here. The broth is very flavorful, the meat is generous and tender. They also sell an instant version that you can buy there or in supermarkets. The price matches the portion and taste of the food. I definitely recommend this pho!

Pho Thin Bo Ho is one of those places that often pops up in lists of must-try pho spots in Hanoi, so naturally, I had to give it a go. The pho itself is actually pretty good — comforting and flavorful — though personally, I didn’t find it to be mind-blowingly special. Still, it hits the spot if you’re looking for a classic bowl. They give you the option of choosing the beef doneness — either cooked or half-cooked. I went with the half-cooked one, and the beef was very tender and juicy, which I liked a lot. Pro tip: add some quẩy (Vietnamese fried dough sticks) on the side — they soak up the broth nicely and make the experience a bit more fun. It’s also conveniently located near Hoan Kiem Lake, so it’s an easy stop while exploring the Old Quarter area

Delicious beef pho in a back alley styled eatery. This stall is located along the main road beside the lake. Just walk along the lake and you will eventually see its sign clearly. Soup was clear and light, meat and noodles portion was generous as well. Overall a delicious meal!

You know the food is good when there is only one item on the menu and your choices are standard size or large size. A stall next to this place sells tea and bread sticks - they looked like "you tiao" to my Taiwanese side just sweeter - and who doesn't like fried dough. You have to try it.
