Pho Thin Bo Ho is one of those places that often pops up in lists of must-try pho spots in Hanoi, so naturally, I had to give it a go. The pho itself is actually pretty good — comforting and flavorful — though personally, I didn’t find it to be mind-blowingly special. Still, it hits the spot if you’re looking for a classic bowl.
They give you the option of choosing the beef doneness — either cooked or half-cooked. I went with the half-cooked one, and the beef was very tender and juicy, which I liked a lot. Pro tip: add some quẩy (Vietnamese fried dough sticks) on the side — they soak up the broth nicely and make the experience a bit more fun.
It’s also conveniently located near Hoan Kiem Lake, so it’s an easy stop while exploring the Old Quarter area
