Phong Nha Lake House Resort

I live in the area so I'm writing this review as "a local." I just stayed here for the past three nights. I'm just sorry I waited this long to stay there. It's a gorgeous, expansive property situated on a lake off the highway about 15 minutes from the village of Phong Nha. There are a number of buildings on the property. I stayed in both the duplex villas and the individual villas. Both are situated next to the lake with either a balcony or a terrace. Great views no matter where you are. ||The rooms and bathrooms are large with additional chairs and tables. Both have a fridge but the larger individual villa also has a TV/cable. The beds are very comfortable. Everything feels new with no signs of wear/tear.||The pool is decent sized with lots of lounge chairs. On the lower level is a dock with kayaks free to take. I took one out to a floating platform with a hammock and also crossed the lake. The water is not very cold. ||I also took one of the bicycles on a couple of drives around the area. There are plenty of roads safe from traffic off the main road to explore. ||I ate at the resort restaurant all three nights even though I could have easily drove into the village of Phong Nha for dinner. But the food at the resort is as good as any in town (and there are some good local restaurants!). The menu is quite varied with plenty of western dishes (pasta/pizza/burgers) as well as Vietnamese classics. There is also a good selection of salads and vegetarian dishes. There is also a happy (2) hour(s).||The staff speaks English and is very friendly. The owner is a lovely lady who takes the time to ask everyone how they're enjoying their stay. ||It also helped that there was no rain at all during my stay. As I live about 1 KM away, I'm happy to discover a retreat that I can go to anytime. This is a fantastic getaway and I can't say enough good things about it! ||There are a few outstanding properties in the area and this is one of them!

Lovely interactions.|A beautiful setting which would have been nice to see in the peak season. |My only issue was how slippery the tiles were. I had a fall unfortunately. |Sarah took us on a half day tour which was fabulous of the Phong Nha Caves.|Take your insect repellent!

Super Hotel The rooms are magnificent! The view of the lake is splendid! You feel like you're in paradise! Very friendly staff. They take great care of us. I'd especially like to thank Sarah. I lost my headphones at the hotel. She was very efficient, helpful and friendly in helping me return them. Great experience!

Great location right on the lake. Fabulous staff who were super friendly. We ate at the restaurant both nights and the service was great and the food was absolutely beautiful. Rooms were large and comfortable with a balcony on the lake. Starting to look a bit tired and that’s the only reason I didn’t rate it the full 5 stars. Well worth the stay.

We are an Aussie family of four - 2 adults, 2 kids. The Lake House Resort in Phong Nha was the perfect base for our three days in this beautiful area. It is located a fair way out of the main township, which was perfect for us as we were looking for complete peace and calm. We had breakfast included which was fantastic, and ate both of our dinners at the hotel during our stay here - food was awesome and well priced for a hotel. We had two West Lake Villas side-by-side, one with a king bed and one with a double plus a large single. Beautiful traditional Vietnamese architecture, combined with modern cosy twists. Super, super comfy beds with gorgeous canopies over the top, super clean, huge bathrooms and the added bonus of an outdoor bath and shower as well! Sensational air conditioning, and private balconies right on the lake - which was just the most spectacular setting. Very private, quiet and peaceful. The resort offers free kayaking and swimming on the lake, plus two pools. We really wish we had booked another full day here, just to enjoy swimming and kayaking. Highly recommend.

Situated right beside the lake this resort is perfect for families as well as the independent traveller. We visited in the off peak season so it was very quiet. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I’m happy to recommended you visit.

They were so welcoming. The food was excellent. Much better than any meal we had in town. And the hotel grounds were spotless. Perhaps most important - the AC was powerful! Do not underestimate that in Vietnam!

This was an unexpected booking that my partner and I did last minute. Needless to say, it was everything I could want and more. The location is so quiet, gorgeous, and serene. The staff are ABSOLUTELY accommodating and kind. We have to especially thank Huong (Sarah) for the care she gave us! ALSO! I don't usually trust food at resorts in small provinces... But WOW EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING. Highly recommend the Australian steak, and chicken parmigiana! The pool, kayaks, and views were all beautiful bonuses to the whole trip. Cannot recommend this place enough. Don't miss this perfect resort for your stay!
