Phor Liang Meun Terracotta Arts Hotel

A hotel that genuinely impressed us. The staff was exceptional. They helped us arrange the room for our daughter’s birthday with beautiful decorations (for an additional fee, but absolutely worth it). Everything was prepared perfectly and with great attention to detail. Because we left very early to visit the temples in Chiang Rai and missed breakfast, they kindly prepared takeaway breakfast boxes for us. A thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture. The decor is spectacular — the terracotta architecture and overall atmosphere make the property feel unique and memorable. The only downside is the immediate surrounding street. It has an unpleasant smell and looks a bit run-down, almost like a slum area, even though you are just two minutes from the central zone. That said, we always felt safe walking there, even in the evening. Once inside the hotel, you are in a completely different world. Overall, a wonderful stay.

I loved this place! So calming and inviting. My balcony room was beautiful! With an amazing view. Very clean. The breakfast is highly recommended! Their green curry is to die for! Service was excellent! Everyone was so friendly! As a solo traveler, I couldn't have asked for aa better place to start my Thailand journey. The only tip. If you plan to use the pool often, make sure to request extra beach towels when your room is cleaned. They prefer for you turn in towels once used, and having to ask the front for a towel each time was a bit of an inconvenience.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10 – A true home away from home Phor Liang Meun Terracotta Arts is a wonderful hotel perfectly located next to the old town of Chiang Mai. Having stayed in hotels around the world, from 5-star resorts to small boutique properties, I can honestly say this hotel offers the warmest welcome and the friendliest staff and management we’ve ever experienced. We stayed in a deluxe wooden ceiling double room with a generous balcony overlooking the hills and beautiful evening sunsets. The room was beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, and serviced daily with fresh towels. Facilities were excellent, including a large flat-screen TV, efficient air conditioning, a very comfortable bed, and a modern, clean bathroom. Breakfast was a varied Thai buffet served daily in the spacious on-site dining room. Each morning we were greeted by smiling, friendly, and efficient staff. The selection included fried rice, assorted noodle dishes, rotating local curries, steamed dumplings, as well as Western options such as bacon, ham, sausages, made-to-order omelettes, and cereals. A special highlight was the daily lunchtime mini cooking lesson hosted by one of the amazing staff members, featuring a different dish each day — with the bonus of getting to eat what was created! Complimentary freshly brewed coffee or their excellent iced Thai tea was also available. This hotel truly deserves a 10/10. The incredible staff make every day feel like staying at home rather than in a hotel. Thank you — we will definitely return

Hotel, looks very attractive from the outside and in photos. The terracotta art style is also reflected in the rooms. The room itself was comfortable and had a large balcony. However, this is very much an Instagram place — visually appealing, but with limited facilities. The restaurant is open only for breakfast. Both the swimming pool and the sunbeds are very dirty, which absolutely discourages spending any time there. The staff is friendly and speaks good English, which is definitely a plus. Unfortunately, I was given incorrect information several times regarding opening hours, and a taxi that was supposed to be ordered for us never arrived. Overall, the location is good (qiuet), but apart from that, I believe there are better and more interesting hotels to choose from in Chiang Mai.

This was an absolutely enchanting hotel in a central location but felt like its own little oasis. The team were really accommodating and welcoming, the hotel was really clean and we could not fault our room! The breakfast was delicious and the pool really relaxing when we got chance to sit down. Easily accessible into the rest of Chiang Mai and the staff are really happy to help give recommendations for the area. Thank you for a beautiful stay and we would definitely return.

The hotel looks like a Museum or an old Temple...Superb! The pros: 1. Room was spacious, well equipped with all the amenities and even more as we received a basket full of tasty goodies. The bathroom was beautiful and very well equipped. 2. Breakfast was the best we had during our 3 weeks in Thailand, and one of the best ever 3. Despite some worries that the close daily market might generate some noise, the silence at night and during the day as well was total. Meaning no noise from outside (cars, bikes, market...) nor from the neighbors so good soundproofing. 4. Location inside the Old City was good, a 15 minute walk to Wat Chedi Luang with several beautiful other Temples on the way to it 5. The service was probably the best we've ever experienced during all our years of travel. No matter when and why, you always were received with dashing smiles and a feeling you never disturb the staff. It was a wonderful experience! 6. All day long you can enjoy complimentary drinks and snacks The cons: Can't really thing oh anything that could be improved. The street on which this hotel is located was dark and at night, walking to the main street on our way to the Temples, we had some encounters with some unpleasant small animals living in the day market, but this wasn't a bother and added to the authenticity of the place. Beside you can't improve the location of the hotel nor the street, so...all good. No doubt that for our next trip to Chiang Mai, we'll back to this hotel.

This was our favorite hotel in Thailand. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. It is located very close to the Saturday night market and is also great for exploring Old Town. The people were so welcoming. They would remember where we had visited that day and also made sure that our room got cleaned while we were gone. I was not expecting too much for breakfast after reading some of the reviews, but it turned out to be a fantastic breakfast buffet, including Thai dishes, made to order eggs, lattes and espressos, and wonderful, welcoming people. I was also a little bit skeptical given their website, their prepay policy, and even some of their disclaimers about not being a luxury hotel, but this hotel was far above my expectations. We would absolutely stay here again in visiting Chiang Mai.

Wow factor once you enter the premise. Each step each turn of head is amazing terracotta art. Walk to the lobby and you will realize the hotel is genuinely a terracotta museum. It’s simply beautiful.||Staff greets you well and introduces you to the hotel rules and facilities. Welcome gift awaits you in the bedroom which itself is perfect and decorated with terracotta art.||Can’t write enough it’s just a great place to stay.
