"Established in 1978 and going strong ever since, the Gallery of Photography is the centre for contemporary photography in Ireland. Admission is free, and with a programme of some of the leading names in Irish and international photography in their exhibition space it is always worth a visit. Besides their excellently curated exhibitions they also have extensive production facilities for both digital and the darkroom while also running a range of training courses. To top it all off, the ground floor houses an incredible bookstore that stocks a myriad of photography and art books from Ireland and abroad." - It's Okay

Excellent, thoughtful photo center. Free admission to the gallery space upstairs. Shop on the ground floor with monographs, photography related periodicals, and general interest photobooks. It’s yours to take in — go!

Its a hidden gem in Dublin city centre. The museum is small and has am exhibition area, book display / sales area. It would be nice to have a library area too! The IFI is next to this, Great place to visit if you are in College Green / Temple Bar area - it free too

A+++ We had an amazing tour of the Photo Museum led by Darragh. He was brilliant with the kids in our group, keeping them all engaged (which is no easy feat) and everyone - young and old - left knowing more than when they came in, AND with a newly awakened interest in-, and love for photography. We will be back! Thank you Darragh, this has been one of the best museum tours of our year. (And we've had many!)

Very small museum held over three floors. Elevator available along with stairs. Free entry and shop on the bottom floor. Can get through it very quickly, and can get crammed easily with few people

Small museum with temporary exhibitions. It's free admission.

This is a hidden gem in Dublin. It’s a combination museum, great photography bookstore, and dark room. The day I went it had a great exhibit of photography by an Irish born photographer named Trish Morrissey. The exhibit space is relatively small, and easily digestible in about an hour. The museum has an amazing bookstore with photography books the cover both Irish photographers and some of the other international greats. If you are a photographer, or a fan of the history photography, you do not miss this museum. And, it’s free, or you can make a small donation, and support its work.

We urgently needed a toilet for our 2 year old but were refused and told to find a public space. She shat her pants and they ruined our afternoon. So far for a wonderful time in Dublin.

Yelp
This is a pretty deadly spot isn't it really. It's places like this that should be talked about more with regards to Temple Bar, rather than the diddle-dee-eye side of it. Tucked away inside Meeting House Square, the Gallery of Deadliness always has so much cool exhibits on. It's a nice airy exhibition space as well that lends itself well to medium sized showings. I most recently went to see Man On The Bridge, which is just a beautiful show - if you ever get the chance to go along, I'd highly recommend it. They also have a really nice shop downstairs that stocks some gorgeous photography based books. I could spend a fortune in here if I had it!

Yelp
I love doing things for free in this city especially during these times. The Gallery of Photography is a compact place, that you can easily explore in under an hour. They always have some fresh exhibit on show and the layout of the gallery is open and modern. Downstairs is the bookstore, which is stocked with a wide assortment of titles on the photography theme.

Yelp
At present there is a Steve McCurry display there and it is fantastic. This review should be more about the venue, I feel, but I also feel I should mention how great these photos are. Beautiful venue to display the pictures with a lot of space. I will definitely be going back for another event. The only problem is the flow, there was not enough room to comfortably walk by the other people there. Also, free!

Yelp
The Gallery of Photography is the perfect place to learn about the art of photography. Its location in Meeting House Square conceals it from the hoards of Temple Bar shoppers so it's not overcrowded either. It sells books on the trade and postcards of famous icons. The shop leads to a free gallery upstairs. This afternoon, the gallery was hosting an exhibition of photographer Josef Koudelka's work. He captured images of Russians invading Prague in 1968. Koudelka's voice narrated while his powerful shots were projected on the wall. The Gallery of Photography is a great place to visit for all people interested in this art form.

Yelp
One of the amazing free things to do in Dublin City Centre, The Gallery of Photography is a perfect Cultural pop-in. It's a smaller Gallery, that can provide for a quick trip in or a day of reflection. They always have something new/fresh to see and nothing about this gallery feels stagnant or stuffy. This is a Two level gallery with the lower level housing a bookstore with books, etc for purchase.

Yelp
Nice place. Free admission. Quality selection of photos. Not very big, but that what is presented, is showed in a caring and good quality facility. Also: Check out the shop. Great selection of books - but no Gregory Crewdson. Shame on you!

Yelp
At least when we stopped in there was no actual "gallery" to speak of. All of the walls were bare and the only pictures to be seen where on a slideshow being projected on one wall. Maybe we just happened to stop in here when they were in transition between exhibits, but if a new exhibit was coming there weren't any signs to saying when it was expected be ready to view. At least it was free, so all I wasted was a couple minute walking through a few empty rooms.
