Flying between Bangkok and Phuket this trip was fairly smooth, and Phuket Airport overall was simple and easy to navigate. Nothing overly impressive, but nothing troublesome either — just a straightforward travel experience on both ends. Arrival in Phuket (Domestic Arrivals) Getting off the plane and into the arrivals hall was quick and uncomplicated.
The baggage claim area is basic but functional, and the wait time for luggage was reasonable.
Signage is clear, and the exits toward taxis, hotel transfers, and car rentals are easy to find.
Overall, a simple and stress-free arrival process. Departure from Phuket (Domestic Departures) The departures side is a bit busier, but check-in and security lines move at a decent pace.
There are enough cafés, snack shops, and convenience stores for a short wait, though seating near the gates can be limited during peak hours.
The terminal has plenty of natural light and feels open, which helps keep the space from feeling crowded. Overall Phuket Airport isn’t large or luxurious, but it’s practical and easy to get around.
A little extra time during busy periods is all you need.
All in all, both arriving and departing were smooth and straightforward — exactly what a short domestic trip should feel like.

2 side different drop-off between domestic and international here. But if’s you get wrong, no worries, just have to walk to the other side about 5-8mins through a bridge connected. Staffs here mostly are Muslim, especially those who at scanning body and suitcases. Foods: variety options: Thai, western, sandwiches, coffee both before and after passing security check. But inside after do scanning suitcases have more options a bit, just double price Thai food ~200B-280B while before passing security, which is still in checkin ticket area Thai food just around 100B. recommend having food before pass security check if you want to eat. Burger King can find in both side. Dairy queen is also available before check in. Available area for Monk/praying. Toilet is small no bidet. But clean.

Extremely crowded with queues over an hour long at arrivals. However, border control officers were efficient and friendly. Baggage claim was easy and there were plenty of taxis available, even at 2.00 a.m.

So many tourists from many different countries. The airport seems to be a historical one. It'll take more than one hour to get past customs. Although there are digital devices to get your footprints, the rest of the works are all manual. That’s why it takes a lot more time for visitors, than other airports.

Unlike those that sailed through without a care in the world we didn't, neither in or out. The queue for passport built up back into the main hall, simply not enough capacity to deal with the amount of travellers, all desks were open and working just simple lack of capacity. They had also closed fast track so they could funnel people through that wouldn't have made flights standard in the normal queue. Once through it doesn't get much better, limited seating in open areas and in the cafés which are also pretty small and limited. Arrive early, keep fingers crossed and don't expect much and you should be ok.
