We’ve visited this Greek bakery/café several times now, and as a fan of Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, I’m thrilled to have discovered this gem. The zucchini pie is a standout—savory, flaky, and incredibly satisfying. The orange pie is also excellent. They have a great selection of high-quality teas. The space itself is beautiful—modern, airy, and inviting, with plenty of seating both indoors and on the outdoor patio. P.S.: The service isn’t perfect and could use some enhancements.

I took the 2 train from Flatbush to Pi Bakery with my Nephew Meeko. We were accompanied by his mom; who was on her A game Killing her inbox The subway was clean and uncrowded; Meeko settled easily even though I noticed the lady next to me was a bit anxious about him. We practiced center and standing on 2 for a few stops. I listened to MIT's deep learning course on YouTube via my Apple AirPods Max first generation. We got off at Wall Street, and exited at 28 Liberty street and were greeted by bright warm light and works of art. I felt fortunate to call Manhattan my home. Pi Bakery was just off the plaza the de facto third place of the neighborhood where my neighbors work, socialize, network, and unwind . This spot has been vital for fostering community as the neighborhood has evolved from offices to residential. My order today was an Apple carrot, ginger, green juice. The weather has been moody lately and I prefer nature for an immunity boost & also got my second shot of espresso of the day they brew Devoción, my 2nd favorite coffee after Black Fox. Also pictured me drinking Greek wine with lots of antioxidants, and the best Greek Yogurt in the city. Note to self get the Olive oil next time I run out. Breakfast today ❤️

Google
Amazing place! Great Colombian drip-coffee, very tasty pastries and Greek yogurt dessert- all accompanied by very friendly staff (shout out to the gentleman I had a brief convo about the coffee with :)) and very pleasing and welcoming design. 10/10 🖤

Google
Excellent spot for lunch with lots of seating and fresh salads, hot food and more. Everything looked so good. The baklava was amazing!

Google
Bakery is an understatement of the delicious hot meals they offer on top of the pastries. Tried the meatballs/ lemon potatoes, galaktobouriko (custard pie) and the zucchini pie... to die for. Greek coffee....spot on. Being of greek decent...the meatballs and lemon  potatoes brought me back to when my dad used to cook for me as a child....thank you.

Google
as 30% Greek I can tell you- this is really greek food in NYC. And very good price.

Google
One of my favorite stores for pastries. Can’t go wrong with anything there but I really enjoy the baklavas. Good variety of food and drinks. Give them a try!

Google
Best breakfast in NY!!! Greek yogurt and spicy feta better than in Greece!! Just came back to this place after 2 years and it’s still the best!! We ate here every morning for a week. Many options and great quality. Staff is always so friendly and helpful, love it!

Yelp
Greek millennial expats love Pi Bakery bc it is mom's food away from mom. Ditch high end restaurant oven and casserole greek food for Pi. You will do yourselves and your wallets a favor. Service can be in greek if you choose to also. :) The atmosphere is very contemporary greek quality bakery. Not pretentious. Not touristic. Highly appreciated. Casserole meats and pies (and melomakarona = greek Christmas macarons) Mom's on demand!

Yelp
Such a amazing selection of Greek delicacies. There are many pies to choose from, the cheese pie is always my favorite. They also offer hot food and they have ample inside and outdoor seating available . So bright and clean inside, very welcoming. The service is great. Everyone is friendly. It is the perfect place to pick up a bite to take with you to the Alamo Drafthouse, which is located right across the street.

Yelp
Honestly, I was a bit let down by my dinner here. I felt the food was pretty overpriced for what it was and wasn't blown away by any of the pastries or meat.
google avatar

Nicole K.

Yelp
I've only had their cappuccino which was delicious. Wish I tried some of their pastries. Lots of tables to sit and enjoy your drink and food. There's few seatings outside too and would be great when the weather is nice.

Yelp
Helpful, patient and courteous assistance. Very relaxed atmosphere with upbeat house tracks playing. We had 4 types of baklava and all were fresh, sweet and outstanding. Our favorite was the pistachio or walnut. All the lunch options looked mouthwatering.

Yelp
We arrived around 2:30pm and the place was extremely busy. It was a fairly popular place so I was eager to try the food since everything looked amazing. My friend and I decided to split everything so we can try a variety of goodies... A bit of savory and a bit of sweet! There was a variety of pies so we decided to go for the green harvest pie (spinach, feta and other greens?) It was simple, flaky and at our request, the cashier helped us warm it up. The doors were tasty and comes with small pack of pita. Both the spicy feta & babaganoysh were well seasoned. Pistachio & walnut baklava were standard. I ordered the late with almond milk and I do like the smoothness of espresso and Pi users Califa Barista brand, whivh is higher quality than most coffee shops. Highly recommend if you are looking for a smooth espresso-based drink. Overall it's very social place with lots of conversations. They have indoor & outdoor seating accommodating large and small groups. My only negative would be there are no menu so you would want to scout the counters and know what you want to order before you head to the cashier. Once you receive your food then you find a table. I would definitely come back for the food and drinks.

Yelp
Always reliable for savory and sweets. Stopped by before catching a flick at Alamo. Had a savory pie and a cuppa joe. enjoyed my snack outside on the plaza. A cute elderly couple asked how was my selection and I gave them a thumbs up. They went in and came out with baklava and enjoyed it too.

Yelp
This place is okay. They have a lot of options but the options don't taste or even look fresh. The croissants all look deflated and smushed. They had premade egg croissant sandwiches where because it was premade the eggs looked dry and the croissant seemed soggy. They had premade bagel sandwiches. There was no way to take anything off of it because they wouldn't make it fresh. As someone with allergies this isn't very accommodating. The slices of "pie" or baked food is served under room temp. I got a slice of the zucchini cheese quiche square and the first one had a hair in it and the second one was basically the cold. I had the first one heated up extra but after the hair thought the new one would be fresh (as I had gotten the last piece in the case previously) and it had obviously been sitting. The staff was friendly and the space is large, which is nice.

Yelp
The interior is spacious, clean, and well lit. The perfect cafe spot for dessert, a drink, or food! All the food looked amazing and you could smell it right as you walked in. Was very tempted to order a little bit of everything! It all looked authentic and I might return for a meal. I got a ice chai latte and it's pretty average. It cost me almost $6 and is prob only 10-12oz which is a bit disappointing. Everything here also feels a bit overpriced (I'm sure it's all delicious and high quality!) but $12 for 3 meatballs (just the meatballs) seems out of the ordinary. If I return, I'd have to be in the mood to spend an exorbitant amount for a filling meal. The servers and employees were all really nice though! Super quick, ordered and had my drink immediately made. You can also see the chefs walking in and out to bring our fresh food which is neat!

Yelp
This place is just great (and I'm pretty critical lol)! Always fresh, always tasty. They have some unique offerings especially for this neighborhood. I love their not bagel sandwiches, yogurt parfaits, juices, bars, pastries and coffee. The staff is great. I do a lot of pick up/ delivery orders and this is the kind of place where if they're sold out of a mini sandwich you ordered they'll just give you a regular size sandwich for the same price - like really truly nice people which seems so scarce these days. Highly recommend !

Yelp
Combine a beautiful interior, with relaxed comfortable seating and friendly service - with some fabulous coffee and pastries (try all of the baklavas, especially the Nutella one). This is a really nice cafe. We didn't try the heartier main courses but everything smelled fantastic and they looked really good. Next time we will try their mains. Only negative is the custard was pretty cold and would have been better warm.
google avatar

Yelp
I like this place. They have authentic Greek pastries, warm hospitality. Nice place to sit and meet someone. Though lately the music is bumping like it's a club and it's not the relaxing vibe I'm looking for on a weekday afternoon and it keeps me from lingering any longer, it just makes me anxious whereas I think it used to be more chill here. Not what I want from a coffee shop and I couldn't get past it even with headphones on. Sundays they have live music, it feels like a family party vibe with champagne going. Try the cookies in the kiosk across, so good.

Yelp
My dad and I stopped here during a weekend In the city. And WOW. The large display of food is mouth watering, notably the Greek yogurt and cheese pie. We came for breakfast, but lunch items looked delicious as well. The service was attentive and caring. Very nice ambiance, lots of tables to sit out. Outstanding hot chocolate. Yum

Yelp
A Greek-centric quick grab-and-go lunch place in the FiDi. However, it's all the lovely pastries I came in for during an afternoon break. Other folks were grabbing a glass of wine at that time too, so maybe that's a thing as well. Pistachio Baklava: Pretty standard. A good rendition with a flaky top and nice sticky gooey bottom. Plus yum, love all those pistachio pieces. Nutella Phyllo: The first time I've ever had this and I'm impressed. That excellent flaky phyllo dough, but with a big squirt of Nutella inside. It's like a perfect merging of cultures. Why hasn't anyone else done this before? Honey Cookie: Subtle, but tasty. Kinda dry and cumbly on the outside, so good with coffee. But inside has a nice honey soaked center. Orange Pi: I just had this same pastry, but at The Grind in Hell's Kitchen. Their version here was just ok. My biggest issue is that the orange slice was merely glazed, not candied, so it was weird chewing on a raw peel. Also, the cake itself didn't seem to have as strong an orange aroma as at The Grind. Kormos: Chocolate and cookie biscuit pieces, a nice combo. A little dry, so also good with coffee. And the chocolate will easily get all over your fingers, so keep some napkins handy.

Yelp
Great lunch or dinner plates run 15-20 bucks. A proper home cooked meal, pick a main and sides.

Yelp
Not a bagel was so delicious and light!! I would say the coffee here is pretty standard, but the not a bagel was so surprisingly good. Got the one with brie cheese and strawberry marmalade and black pepper, and if you are not a black pepper fan like me, don't worry because you can't even taste it. If you get the not a bagel toasted, the melted brie and strawberry marmalade blend together into a gooey bite that is so smooth and warm. The bagel itself is also so light and fluffy -- it tastes clean and as if you are biting into a soft cushion. Would definitely recommend coming here to try this specialty breakfast bite!

Yelp
Food was really good!!!! Had a soy cappuccino which was suuuper creamy. Also had a spinach and cheese croissant. Very light and crispy croissant, the fillings are not very filling but enough and really good and simple flavor. Baristas and cashiers are really friendly. Confused with how the returning plates system is since some ppl just leave them at the tables and some returns them. Cute Greek bakery in a corner with a lot of seatings as well as outside seatings. Pretty pricey in my opinion but the baked goods are nice.

Yelp
The place is still beautiful and well kept. The staff is mostly nice with the except for the moody barista tall dark muscular guy. The sweets could be better . I still like coming here because it's behind my building and some of the other options have closed since Covid .

Ümmügülsüm D.

Yelp
The salad and pastry varieties are quite rich. It is really hard to decide, as a result we found ourselves ordering plates of food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We also had the chance to meet the chef, he is very nice too. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
This is my well lighted place to go to where the ambiance, the food, and the staff are excellent. I lived in the FIDI neighborhood since 2011 and this is the first place I can go to repeatedly for breakfast or lunch. The egg sandwich is to die for. The bagel with lox sandwich has the right proportions. Their hot food, even if the menu doesn't vary daily, continues to appeal to me. I know I'm getting a good meal no matter what. Try it; you won't be sorry.

Yelp
Stopped by early morning before a meeting. Picked up a breakfast sandwich (yummy but needed a fork and knife) and a cold brew. Space is welcoming and bright and airy. Good local spot. Next time, I might have to try some Greek pastries. They looked delicious.

Yelp
Beautiful setting, amazing gigantic greek selection of food for all meals, very delicious food. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Delicious goodies here. U really can't go wrong. We tried the drip coffee, salads, spreads, chicken pie n desserts. All so good! Definitely coming back to try more!!

Yelp
Great bakery / restaurant / café. Nice indoor and outdoor seating. Live music on the weekends. Very friendly staff. We usually get lates (hot and iced). I've had many of their croissants and mini baklavas which are always fresh. My wife swears by their yogurt. It's close to offices so it can get crowded during the morning rush but if you go any other time you will be in and out within 5 minutes.
google avatar

Lily D.

Yelp
Amazing food. Amazing coffee. We tried the salami and tomate sandwich with tzatziki dip. The dip was delicious. The coffee was so good too. My kids loved the lentil soup. The pistachio and Nutella baklava were amazing too.

Yelp
Nice food, great coffee, cosy environment, amazing service! Definitely will come back again.

Yelp
I love a cafe with WFH-friendly ambiance and savory options. Pi Bakerie checks both those boxes: a large interior with lots of seating, wifi, and outlets, and a menu that consists of not only savory pastries but also lunch options. I really love their not-a-bagel for a snack/light meal, and their croissants and mini baklavas (I had coconut and pistachio) are also delicious. The only miss I've had was their matcha latte, which was a little too milky for my taste.

Edward P.

Yelp
This place is really good. Expensive, but good. Loved their meat pi and breakfast croissant.

Yelp
Don't come here if you're in a rush. I've been here a few times since I work across the street and the service has been really inefficient each time. There's a line to order food and a line to order coffee, but everyone pays at one spot... every single person who hasn't been here before is always confused where to wait, who to ask for help to get hot food vs sandwiches vs pastries, etc. On top of the confusing lines, the people scooping and serving the food move at snail speed despite the presence of a long line. Food is decent and good quality, lots of olive oil and flavor, but for the price, you can find options better in the area. Happy to revise my review after these operational links are worked out. We're in FiDi, not West Village! Slow and inefficient service cannot be an option.

Kellie S.

Yelp
Amazing food and so many fun unique selections! Their coffee is so good too! Highly recommend
google avatar

Yelp
The coffee is perfect, you would definitely try the mincemeat croissant. Neve a dull moment with the colorful and tasteful surrounding, excelent for light reading, pleasant conversation or simply a quick bite. Great service by multilingual staff.
google avatar

Yelp
Good selection of pastries. Nice salad. Love the latte. Great place to spent in a nice afternoon.
google avatar

Alexandra S.

Yelp
I used to love coming here for the Nutella baklava, until an employee gave me the wrong ones, so $10 down the drain. That's the downfall of having associates select your baked goods, especially if they're not taking the precautions they should. Another time, I had to specifically ask a young man to put on gloves before he boxed my baklava, yikes. This may explain the recent C rating.
google avatar

Chrystina C.

Yelp
Love their spinach pie, lasagna, meatballs. Everything tastes homemade and delicious. Closer to 9 there is usually a small line but it moved quickly. Go a bit earlier if you want to get in and out. Great breakfast, snack, and lunch spot.

Yelp
Pi Bakerie just opened up in FiDi and it is EXACTLY what this area has been missing - a warm Greek bakery, with excellent coffee and espresso, plenty of seating, phenomenal Greek food (mezze, salads, sandwiches) delectable pastries, high quality items for purchase from Greece, and most importantly, amazing service from Angelo (the owner), Theodore, Angelica, George, and Juan! Come here and give this place and the incredibly warm humans some lovin and a hearty congratulations! This is actually their 2nd location - 1st one is in Soho! Angelo spent a lot of time with us, sharing stories, recommending items, and spreading great energy. - Not a bagel" (Kallouri) cucumber yogurt sandwich: This is phenomenal and so refreshing!! It is much lighter and less doughy than your classic bagel so it feels hearty without being heavy/dense Similarly Greek yogurt instead of cream cheese makes this lighter too, with a crunch from the cucumber! A perfect breakfast or lunch situation! - Latte: All too often oat milk lattes in the area end up tasting like only oat milk, without any coffee flavor. Not here! This is one of the best lattes - great coffee, very smooth, not overly bitter, high quality! This will be my new go to! - Almost Croissant: Pairs PERFECTLY with coffee. It is not too sweet, has a brilliant almond flavor, and is credibly buttery and flaky - yum. - Dolmadakia: HOLY SMOKES one of the best dolmadakias I've had! Juicy, tart, fresh, flavorful. You gotta get this. - Lentil Salad: A wonderful healthy option! Perfectly cooked lentils, shredded carrots, olives dressed in an Italian-like dressing. - Spanakopita: Flaky, balanced, tasty goodness of spinach, cheese, and buttery layer of dough. MMMM

Yelp
This place is the BEST. My husband and I ordered like 15 different things here, and not a single thing was bad. We both agreed that if we lived here it would have to be near this place. It was THAT GOOD. Highly, highly recommend if you love anything Greek food related.
google avatar

Chris D.

Yelp
Loved this newly opened bakery in the old Financier coffee location. We tried a few things and everything was fresh and enjoyable. Slightly odd choice to serve a bread roll with the spicy feta dip (was expecting pita). The small spinach pie wasn't my favorite as not much filling, but I'll definitely go back and try the full sized version. The Greek salad will be delicious in the summer when the tomatoes are in season I'm sure. Great addition to FiDi!
google avatar

Pierce B.

Yelp
Best croissant I've had since I visited Italy last year. The place itself is beautiful and everyone I went with enjoyed what they got (except the vanilla latte, not very vanilla-y). The people who worked there were helpful. Everything they had on display looked delicious, just definitely not a super cheap cafe option.
google avatar

Gabrielle K.

Yelp
I live right by and have gone here for both coffee and for lunch. The food is really good and reasonably priced for NYC! Also, nearly everyone in the cafe was speaking in Greek when I went, which makes me believe it's authentic Greek food. HOWEVER - the lines are chaotic. There is one register by the coffee. But people kind of order all over the place: by the hot food, by the pastries, at the register. The staff was super pleasant but made no effort to get things organized, and a few people who went to the pastry line and ordered their hot food there kind of skipped past the rest of us. It's kind of chaotic so I wouldn't come here if I was in a rush, but my friend and I were having a lazy Sunday so we were fine.

Yelp
It's a very cute greek cafe, and this review is solely for "Galaktoboureko" dessert (custard), it's definitely sweet, I didn't taste much of a orange/lemon zest though, which if I remember correctly, the restaurants in Astoria have and how the Greek people I know make it. The custard itself is much thicker, like it doesn't run and stays its shape, almost like a jello. Definitely not the average "Galaktoboureko", it's almost like they modernized it to keep its shape within the shape of the dessert, which usually is a rectangle shape. If I were to rate it, of course my opinion to the original "Galaktoboureko" I'd give it a 4/10 But myself, I would never get this dessert again, only reason I tried it was because I work nearby and didn't wanna take a 40min trip to Astoria, they also don't deliver that far, it's definitely better in Astoria. Personally I like Omonia Cafe for this dessert. They're also cheating you with custard, it's so small, too much dough not enough custard... I dunno, lowk disappointed with this dessert

Yelp
Great food. Loved mushroom pie and lasagna. Their outdoor patio also feels great to sit and enjoy tree shades.

Yelp
New favorite cafe to work from. The staff is so lovely!! I came in for the first time this week and ordered the Greek yogurt with dried cherries in cherry sauce and added 1 topping of raspberries. It was phenomenal!!! I absolutely love that it's authentic Greek cuisine. I highly recommend this place for those looking for a great cafe in the FiDi area.

Yelp
Their hot chocolate is pretty amazing but unfortunately their customer service and employees not so much, every single time I visit they side eye me like I'm about to commit a crime and on top of that they purposely don't take my order until they are done with customer's of {different skin color} whom I had arrived before and skipped me in the line and went straight to them so they are a little bit racist and most times it shows more than others. They have Greek food options on their buffet which is really healthy and good when it's warm, just a little less pleasant after it gets to a certain temperature. Nice little cozy sitting area that allows for a good coffe and talk if that is the vibe of the evening or while it is still hot smoke a cigarette and enjoy a good coffee. Inside it's more of like a workplace in the front and in the back for bigger tables and closer to the bathroom. I would say a 3.5/5
google avatar

Christopher C.

Yelp
Great well-lit and clean space. Lots of options, though might be slightly confusing on how to order. There are different display cases with different categories of food. That said, I'm also a stickler for Greek food. I had the tyropita and was surprised that it lacked the flaky, phyllo dough affect. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but it was different than any other tyropita I've had (in Greece and in the US). I won't say it's not 'authentic' but it was surprising to me. Desserts looked good and fun - I had a slice of the orange cake and it was good, albeit very sweet. That said, I might not have been in the mood for sweetness at the time.

Yelp
Pi Bakerie is a fantastic local spot. Met the owner/manager during a morning visit to the bakery and he was very nice. I tried the lox salmon bagel which had arugula and olives. It was the right amount of filling and health vibes after a night out. The coffee was good too. Definitely checking this place out!
google avatar

Yelp
Dunkin coffee is better but it gets worse baklava is 20$ lb but when they weight its with porcelain plates so you paying double price, I saw a lot of places but this tops the chart lol FYI baklava is dry like crackers come on people ....

Yelp
As a hungry vegetarian, I am in love with this place. The food is fresh and delicious. I love their fresh bean salad and mozzarella sandwiches and little cheese sticks. The price is right too. Run to this place and get your delicious food.

Yelp
PI has some good baked goods and bread. The service though is slow. They're always busy even when I stopped in on a Sunday morning. They need more staff and control of the counter
