The Best Travel-Friendly Instant Coffee

"Available in regular, vanilla latte, mocha chocolate latte, and Hershey’s chocolate latte. The regular is potent, while the rest are very sweet. Each shot comes in a two-ounce plastic cup, meeting TSA restrictions. Ideal for those who like very strong and sweet coffee."

We’ll definitely be back! Great food, drink, service, and atmosphere. We sat in their outdoor seating to enjoy the morning weather. I ordered my usual soymilk cortado, which they served very nicely with espresso treatment (with sparkling water and a few espresso beans). It was very good! My husband really enjoyed his latte and grilled croissant. (He used to live in Paris and has very high standards for croissants.)

Is it how the bagel in store supposed to look like? They put it in the box to go, and then I asked to make it in store. The guy just removed the box and put it on the plate. Are you serious? I can make it myself at home like that. Why would not you give me the coffee beans and say “make it yourself “?

Firstly, the coffee here is always fantastic hot or cold. It is a must stop in St.Charles! Next, the food is pretty good I think it could be better and is a little pricey, but still good. The side of fruit is a nice touch. I will say, in a previous visit I was pretty upset that the Lox bagel I had ordered came out disassembled. I paid 9 bucks for it, and when I go out for food I expect it to be ready to eat. I did not expect to have to spread the cream cheese and put it together myself. Today when I went in, I felt a little needy when I asked if they could put it together for me. But in reality, I am paying money for food made by someone else. Not just for the ingredients. I feel like it's weird that it normally comes disassembled. I think they should definitely change that, so I don't have to ask. Love the employees, the atmosphere, the coffee! It is a wonderful place to stop in at. 🥹 I just wish it was closer.

Google
Great local spot for my wife and I and love the pride flag they hang inside as an added bonus 😊 the coffee is super good and my wife and I tried the croissants and we’re not disappointed. It will definitely become our go-to spot. Only thing I didn’t like was the wait for the coffee was a bit longer than I thought it should take but it was one day and it was worth the wait

Google
Absolutely loved this coffee shop! I had a latte and went back the next day to grab another on my way out of town. It is a little more on the acidic side of roasting though. The staff was fabulous! Food looked good but didn’t purchase. Would highly recommend.

Every time we come in town the staff are always so friendly! We love coming here with our family. Today, the staff noticed something was up with my sister’s order (she got hot latte but forgot to ask for it iced). My sister and I just swapped but the barista with gold tipped hair caught on. He remade her drink as iced for her. I hope he and his manager see this! Thank you!

Google
Local coffee shops are my favorite places to go when I’m traveling on business. This one is one of the best. Staff are super friendly. Prices are very reasonable and the coffee is wonderfully delicious. I’ll definitely be back!

Google
Amazing cozy coffee shop. The artwork inside was aesthetically appealing and interesting. I really liked the table they had a picasso style artwork added to it. They have great seating areas where you can sit in front of a warm fire! All staff members are friendly and are happy to help. There coffee is rich and doesn't taste burnt at all, unlike many other coffee shops in the area. We also got the Aztec mocha coffee, it was delicious! We also picked up the to go hummus platter and it was very yummy and healthy. If we are ever in St Louis, Missouri again we definitely will be going back! That was three years ago, and every time I drive through the city to visit family we come here!

Yelp
My husband and I went to Picasso coffee after a personal recommendation and it did not disappoint! We accidentally went on a live music night which was a very pleasant surprise. Really created a warm and thoughtful ambiance as a whole. The berry pop tart and dinner sandwiches were delicious. The workers was accommodating to my drink requests and was willing to make my Italian soda into a French soda even though that's not on the menu. Overall would definitely come back, good vibes and I think a nice study space and has long hours.
google avatar

Cristina B.

Yelp
Yum! Recommend popping over for an after dinner coffee after eating in streets of St Charles. Sometimes they have live music going. It's rarely very busy in the evenings. I always grab a chai tea which I love there. Much more open than the main street location.
google avatar

Camila M.

Yelp
What an amazing experience! Great coffee... uplifting music and the barista always has a smile.
google avatar

Kathy N.

Yelp
Had a great cappuccino, blended mocha, and dense moist slice of carrot cake. This is just around the corner from the Drury Plaza, where we were staying. It's a pleasant space with outdoor tables for a nice day. We'll probably be back during our stay.

Yelp
This is my second visit to this location and I must say the first time was better than the second. I was in the mood for a smoothie and wanted to try a different flavor. I ordered the Picasso Peach recommendation from staff. Flavoring was fine but consistency was awful. It was not thick at all. It was more so of a juice. A cold foamy liquid mess. For $6.54 I would have liked thick heavy and cold. It was not worth me making a scene so I took one for the team . On a positive note the staff was friendly and welcoming and that is where the star came in . I'm not sure if I'll come back , but we shall see.

Yelp
Came for breakfast. Left confused. Pepper sandwich had so many eggs it barely tasted of peppers. Fairly bland as well. A bit of black pepper would have gone a long way...Hard to understand the hype.
google avatar

Cassandra S.

Yelp
Great little coffee spot they have a chocolate coffee that's called Mona's snicker highly recommend trying it The staff is very friendly and it's very quaint inside.
google avatar

Andrea R.

Yelp
I think I found my new favorite coffee spot :) The taste of their cold brew was unique, tasted like a hint of blueberry or chocolate..something sweet about it. The shop used was your typical cozy coffee nook, looking forward to coming back and working from there. The server was very kind and answered my questions about the gluten free cookies.

Yelp
What a fun find!! This coffee shop boasts a full breakfast menu with superior coffee choices. The staff is friendly and helpful with excellent knowledge about the menu choices. I was able to find a vegetarian breakfast burrito that was filling without leaving be with that heavy feeling of a greasy breakfast. I loved the eclectic interior design. Historic St. Charles is home to so many fun cafes, boutiques, and ice cream shops I could spend the whole day wandering the brick paved Main Street. One of my favorite plant shops in just down the street from this cafe and I often grab breakfast here to rationalize the lengthy drive. Definitely worth a stop!!

Yelp
I love Picasso's! It is an STL classic. I have been here several times and I finally tried their matcha latte. I have had bad matcha in the past that just tastes like milk but this latte was actually strong and delicious! There was a super long line but it moved quickly and we were able to get our drinks within a few minutes. I definitely want to bring my laptop up here and work as the space has a very chill and relaxing vibe.

Yelp
My wife and I went to Picasso's Coffee house today to grab a cup of coffee this morning. We like going here. The place was packed but we were serviced within 3-4 minutes of placing our order. The Coffee is good and we both got a venti cup of the house brew, which was a pecan bourbon flavor today. Service is good and is a nice friendly atmosphere. Since it was a beautiful day we sat outdoors drinking our coffee.

Rob H.

Yelp
I Love Picasso's. Whenever I am in town, it is on the list of places I really want to get to. However, today's experience was downright rude and disappointing. My wife and I made a quick run for an afternoon snack and just a little one on one connect time. Walk in (just before 3...had no idea that was their closing time) and the display case is empty. I comment and ask why is it empty? We are told they still have product. So, we each order a cinnamon roll and drinks. Sit down next to the fireplace to enjoy our afternoon snack and they start locking doors and turning things off. We are handed our drinks in paper cups and cinnamon rolls are wadded up in a piece of paper. So, $20 and less than 5 minutes later we are told that we need to leave, so we left with our order in hand. And YES, they got a tip....before we knew they were tossing us out. Carried everything to the car, drove home where I could have just as easily had a nice pour over. Now, IF someone informed us they were closing while we were ordering, it would have been fine. I'd have just had a coffee and been on my merry way. Ok, my rant is over. I will be back, although Upshot is starting to move up in the pecking order.....

Yelp
Once again Picassos never disappoints! Baristas are wonderful and super sweet and quick getting your drink out. I love the Aztec mocha and Van goghs Milky Way, highly recommend them both. Great local small business that everyone who comes through st Charles should try!

Claire M.

Yelp
We came here for breakfast this morning. The food was good and was fresh. Service was also great. We both got coffees and the coffee they just tasted off. They even remade my vanilla latte but it still just tasted off. Would go back for the breakfast burrito. Egg and pepper sandwich wasn't as good as the burrito but would be better with some sauce. We ate outside and it was very nice. Food 4/5, coffee 2/5

Yelp
Wonderful coffee shop with delicious drinks and pastries. Customer service is really friendly. I can't wait to visit stl again so I can enjoy this coffee shop more.v

Yelp
This place is amazing- locally roasted, great menu with crafted coffee that's easy to grab on my way into work. Always a warm atmosphere with an inviting space. Lots of great options including my personal favorite the lavender mocha with oat milk! Make sure to put this on your list of stops either first thing in the morning or for that 3 o'clock slump.

Yelp
This place got so popular is moved from another spot in St.Charles but man it's an amazing coffee spot. Art work on the wall and fire place. Real wipe cream and spacious. They even gave out free hot chocolate for the Christmas tree lighting this year!
google avatar

Dave W.

Yelp
I had to pop in here for an espresso since it is so well regarded in St Charles. They roast their own coffee and I am here so let's try it! Now, to the espresso! McKenzie kindly helped me at the counter and I said I wanted to try an espresso since it was my first time there. No sugar. No cream. Just espresso! It came with a nice thick dark brown crema and the aroma was pure coffee. I have to say my first taste sensation of this dark roast was a little sour but then the aftertaste was sweet. Interesting sensations! It wasn't my favorite espresso but I enjoyed the experience! We were also a little hungry so we got a panini and some squash soup. My wife really enjoyed the soup and I tried it. Very nice and smooth. My panini was pretty tasty and came with coleslaw or chips so we got the coleslaw. It was well made and tasty but not remarkable. My wife also got the Aztec chocolate drink and enjoyed it very much! Life is good with unique locally roasted coffee!

Yelp
Whenever I travel, my goal is to find at least one coffee shop that can't be found back home. We found this place while looking for another coffee shop (that seemed to be nonexistent). I had the Black Forest frappe with almond milk but substituted the chocolate for white chocolate. It was really good. The ambiance and customer service was also nice.
google avatar

Michella F.

Yelp
Came here looking for a coffee place and a place that took Apple Pay as I lost my wallet. Greeted by super friendly staff. Plus is they have sugar free flavorings besides vanilla. I ordered the Monas snickers all sugar free with oat milk, blended. Yummy! I also ordered a tuna sandwich that was very good. Will be back

Katie S.

Yelp
Came in again today to meet up with someone. Her avocado toast looked significantly better than the avocado toast I got previously... I'm starting to think me and Picassos just don't like each others vibes. It IS "queer friendly" but maybe that just means "straight unfriendly".. I don't know. The girl at the register was nice enough. The two older men that work here must sense that the virtue signaling is a little off putting for some. Cold brew tasted like motor oil but the person I was with enjoyed what she got
google avatar

Sarah H.

Yelp
If you're looking for a coffee shop that supports local arts, this is it and they rotate the artworks. They make an excellent good cup of coffee and then you can walk around the plaza - it's a great way to start the weekends.

Blake H.

Yelp
Had absolutely fantastic espresso martinis here. Service was very quick and they had a beautiful area to sit outside
google avatar

Mindy D.

Yelp
I met a friend at this location and had a great visit. The cinnamon latte tasted great with just a hint of sweetness & no "fake" flavor taste. The staff was super friendly, the location is easy to get in/out with the parking garage and the fireplace gives it a nice ambiance.

Andrea F.

Yelp
Back for another parental visit from California:) love love love this place and the staff :) always awesome service, coffee and food. This time I actually stayed and had the hummus platter .. very tasty :) they have waves of business but they get the line down fast. pS best dark chocolate espresso beans.

Parker S.

Yelp
This is by far my favorite coffee shop and I have lived in 4 different states trying many coffees along the way. It will always have my heart. The caramel latte is unlike any other. The atmosphere is a place where you can sit and talk/meet with someone or work on something privately. I would go back to STL for this latte.

Katie I.

Yelp
Delicious coffee, knowledgeable staff, spacious shop. They also have some food and wine, but we just had the coffee
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
Unbelievably good. Such a great coffee shop in the best little area. We stayed here for the weekend and had a ton of time to try out all of the drinks at Picasso's. My favorite was the Milky Way coffee with oat milk. The inside is great but there is also outdoor seating. Centrally located within the plaza and the staff could not be nicer. Huge smiles all around.
google avatar

Leslie H.

Yelp
We passed by this coffee house on our way to dinner and decided to stop in before we headed back home. I'm so glad we did! I love the atmosphere here. It's a nice little place, relaxed atmosphere, and homey. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I ordered a blended Van Gogh's Milky Way, and it was delicious! I wish we lived closer to this place, but I hope to stop by in again the next time we're in the area.
google avatar

Floyd L.

Yelp
A great place for coffee and hanging out. Definitely worth it. Definitely will return.
google avatar

Katie N.

Yelp
I decided I needed a caffeine pick me up so stopped in around lunchtime. I ordered a small cold brew - black. The coffee was delicious. No bitter aftertaste. I ended up only drinking half and put the rest in the fridge for the next day. I love a nice strong cold brew. Still tasted great the next day! Staff was super friendly.

Grace E.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite coffee shop, and I've tried so many. The atmosphere, coffee, and staff is amazing. I love their whole bean coffee too, especially their ethiopian! i've never had a bad experience, and I've been at least 50 times.
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Of course the coffee is superb. Try the sandwiches, if you haven't. (Lox and bagel--WONDERFUL.) This is a terrific morning hangout spot with a friend....or without one!

Yelp
Being a nonnative to St Louis MO, this place is a true gem that I stumbled upon. They have the best sugar free options for coffee that I have found and when I ask for decaf, they give me decaf. Today, I had the Mona's snickers. It's made with chocolate, caramel, and hazelnut. I got them all sugar free and almond milk instead of cows milks. It's topped with a whip cream and is divine in flavor. They serve lunch from 11a until 3p. I got the BLT (it's called something different.) It was amazing!! I came with a side choice of kettle chips, pita chips, or slaw. I chose the kettle chips. It was tasty and well worth the cost. The bacon was super crisp & not burnt at all. The staff here are also super friendly and amazing! They always greet you with a smile and are quite courteous. While there is free WiFi, the number of outlets to plug up your pc are limited. I truly do not fault them for this. I actually appreciate it as I've seen how folks at other coffee shops will sit for hours when they can plug in to the point of conducting business in an 8hr day out of a coffee shop. Nothing wrong with it, but some of us would like to sit from time to time. Whole point to this review: this place is awesome! Try it out!

Yelp
Sat Sep 17, 10 am: not really busy, getting Ron's sandwich was slow I felt. Once I got it, it was good. I am not a coffee drinker anymore, but ordered plain black coffee. Register gall told me it Guatemalan coffee. Grew har on my teeth, tongue and I think the backs of my eyeballs. But a coffee lover would like it. I finally dumped half and filled with skim milk. Was so palatable I drank about 1/4 of it. Atmosphere is good. Employees were working hard so delay was not due to lazy. Will go back. I was a volunteer at 5 Acres Animal Shelter fund raiser. Good time.

Courtney E.

Yelp
Service was awful on 10/16/23. The woman at the register was disrespectful. The man who handed me the coffee was great, offered to add more cream/milk and the same woman said "you can just stir in" in a hateful tone. Word of advice for the woman, if you hate your job there are plenty of others.

Yelp
NITRO COLD BREW ON TAP! Reminds me of Guiness. Having this just makes this place 95% more better. Picasso is the only place in St. Charles, that I know of, that carries NITRO COLD BREW on tap! I get excited just watching it pour and watching the dark coloration swirl around in the glass! YUMMMMM! Bold, smooth, and silky! They serve: * Espresso * Coffee * Mocha masterpieces * Frappe * coffee alternatives (hot chocolate, chai latte, italian soda, etc) * Wine * Pastries * Smoothies (with greek yogurt and real fruits/veggies) ***They also have some great liquors to taste better with your coffee*** Friendly staff! Space is clean and decorative! Separate Men and Women restrooms! No phone connection, but they do have WIFI ! It can just be my phone or my carrier too so don't count me on this. As the weekend special, I got the eggs benedict. The eggs were perfectly poached and muffin was toasted well, but I wasn't too into the hollandaise sauce and the hidden citrus flavor. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't the eggs benedict I was looking for.
google avatar

Greg G.

Yelp
Our favorite place to be civilized! We enjoy the music and the pumpkin coffee drink! Excellent wine by glass selections. I can do this al night long. The music entertainment is really excellent as the atmosphere is very comforting and acoustically good.
google avatar

Krista C.

Yelp
I love coffee! I also love this coffee house! The vibe is amazing inside and I love how they have chairs outside! The coffee tastes great and the baristas are always so nice! Today I tried a pastry and man. It was so good! It was a nice pairing to the coffee as well! O also, If you go check out the art! It's always changing each month and something cool to look at!

Yelp
Met my BFF for coffee at Picasso's on Beale. Mid-morning, weekday, and the place was nicely hopping with a variety of folks, a couple with laptops, but most chatting with friends. The beverage choices were plentiful, from smoothies to hot and cold coffee-type drinks. I wish they would put their drink choices (or the basics plus calorie counts) on their website; all I could find was their food menu which says it includes pastries from (the amazing) LaBonne Bouchée. We came for the coffee and were not disappointed. I ordered a Caramel Latte, grande, and my BFF got a Milky Way with chocolate, caramel, and vanilla (I think?). The grandes were served in luxuriously heavy cups and saucers filled TO THE BRIM. They look gorgeous and taste even better. There is a table with to-go stirrers, sweeteners, including honey and Stevia (I know, right!). But if you're staying, you get an adorable little metal stirring spoon that just feels fun. I'm definitely going back because the experience was relaxing and pleasant. Anyone can drive through and pay for an expensive cup of coffee. Having a delicious drink that warms your hands and your heart while spending time with a dear friend is so much more fulfilling. There's plenty of parking within less than a block's walk, too. There's a parking garage and a parking lot if the street parking is full.
google avatar

Rylee T.

Yelp
Such an awesome locally-owned coffee shop! This location has become my new favorite study spot in the St. Charles area. It's usually pretty busy, but I've never been left with nowhere to sit. The service is always fast and friendly. My favorite things on the menu are the fresh brewed Guatemala blend coffee and the ciabatta breakfast sandwich (the sandwich is always cooked fresh). P.S. I used to go to the Main Street location frequently (mostly for open mic nights) and it's just as great!
google avatar

Joh D.

Yelp
St. Charles is a bit out of the way for me, but I still make an effort to visit when the weather is good because I love this coffee shop so much. The drinks and pastries are great, and it's situated in a fantastic location. Downtown St. Charles is so charming, so you can take your coffee to go as you browse the local businesses or stay put and people watch. The shop has always been busy when I've stopped by, but the line moves fast, and I have never had a problem finding a place to sit.
google avatar

Leila S.

Yelp
Adorable coffee house with homey feel! I sat by the fire for an hour with a terrific blend of joe!

Yelp
This is Picasso's second location, found in the "Street's of St. Charles". "The Streets" get crazy busy with traffic. Don't waste time driving up and down looking at four outdoor parking spots. Enter from the huge parking garage. You can park for FREE in the garage. Stay dry in all the weather St. Louis can throw at you and ride the garage elevator up to the forth floor. Picasso's has an entrance in the hallway so you never have to go outside! Picasso's Barista's make some amazing Latte's. The Milky Way Latte is the best coffee house blend I have had to date. It is pure bliss in a warm mug. The Milky Way is Chocolate, Vanilla, and Caramel. The Snicker Latte comes in a close second. The Snicker blend is Chocolate, Caramel, and Hazelnut. The Black Forest is also very good. The Black Forest is Chocolate, Cherry, and Almond. You really can not go wrong with any of the above Latte's...go ahead and indulge! Only bummer- if you order a Venti your latte will be served in a to-go cup. We did not see any signage about this and were not told when order was placed. I guess I can save some money and order Grande's only. It seems they have already outgrown the seating they have at this location. There is plenty of floor space for them to add more seating in the future. I look forward to trying the Nitro Cold Brew this Spring or Summer.

Dave J.

Yelp
Great coffee and smoothies with a small selection of breakfast sandwiches. The Ciabatta Breakfast Sandwich was fresh and delicious. Fried egg was perfectly cooked and the roll was light and airy. My Egg and Cheese Sandwich was made with Gouda and added bacon on a plain bagel. Rich flavor with cheese oozing out the side. Lemon Poppyseed muffin..."It was so good!" Plenty of tables outside to enjoy your morning meal.

Jarred F.

Yelp
Nice location, friendly, clean and good vibe.Macchiato was bitter and acidic. I asked if the pastry's were made in house and was told no. So I did not try one. Did like that seltzer water came with the coffee.

Yelp
Got to visit Picasso's two days in a row as my friend was moving into the townhouses across the way. The first day, we had lunch. I got the portobello sandwich and my friend had the veggie. They have us a HUGE amount of pita chips and the sandwich was very filling for me. I really enjoyed the sandwich - but think they could've toned the mushrooms down just a tiny bit. I had a regular coffee with my lunch. There was a bit of a wait, so a staff person came around and gave me and my friend a free drink card. The free drink card was one reason why we returned, but also we wanted to try their breakfast. We luckily made right before they stopped breakfast. I had he veggie scramble - it was good, the sun dried tomatoes were really intense... makes sense for something as plain as eggs, but I definitely think that it can be overdone. I had a specialty drink - the Milky Way. It was delicious! Sweet...but I was in the mood for it. I would definitely visit Picasso's again!

Yelp
Great coffee shop. Set on historic Main Street St. Charles. Hits the vibe of a historic area and is a hot spot for the local events.

Yelp
I love the atmosphere at this little coffee house. A friend teaches Latin dancing and this restaurant hosts the crowd every Tuesday night at 7pm. They have drink specials just for us too! Last nights drink special was a strawberry peach sangria and boy do they mix a good drink. I arrived prior to the start of the dance class and had a chance to sample a bit of the evening menu. For starters they serve loose leaf hot teas. I selected a ginger lemon tea and it hit the spot. For dinner I had the artisan chicken sandwich with kettle chips. The bread was toasted over easy just how I like it. The chips were good too and portion size was perfect. The highlight of the evening was of course the Latin dancing. For each new step we learned we switched partners. It's a great way to learn something new and meet new people too. Last night we learned basic salsa as well as bachata. I can't wait to go back. Come on Tuesday!
