Piccolina Gelateria

Absolutely beautiful. First time in hardware lane. Piccolina has become a main place for dessert. Had the salted caramel and pistachios. Loved it. Took a long time to decide which one to go with because they have lot of options. Definitely coming back and good customer service but should have accepted cash as well. Hope they make some changes. But overall good experience.

A popular authentic gelateria on Hardware Lane. There are number for different flavours and a special menu to choose from. There are some seats available both inside and outside the shop, and reminds me of Italy. Staff were friendly and patient. I tried the Lemon, Dark Chocolate and Pistachio. The gelato was smooth, but a tad stickier than some that I've had before. Flavour was on point. This shop has multiple stores throughout Melbourne with different ratings. If you are near Hardware Lane, this one is worth a visit!

Piccolina Gelateria serves top-quality, authentic gelato with wonderfully bold flavors. You’re welcome to sample them all — though with the long queues (which are common here), it’s best to decide quickly! I went for a hazelnut and pistachio combo, plus their special peanut butter, caramel, and pistachio pairing. The nut flavors were rich and intense, with delightful little fragments of nuts in every bite. Absolutely beautiful gelato!

This popular gelato shop in Melbourne CBD always has a queue, but it moves pretty fast. There’s some seating inside and outside, and the staff are friendly. They’re known for their authentic, handcrafted gelato made with 100% natural ingredients. Taste like having Italy in Melbourne. Nice and helpful staff. We got few different items the best one was Lemon. Unlike most of Gelateria in Melbourne that you just taste too much sugar this one was nice and smooth

Ordered the limited time Piccolina & St. Ali affogato which is a square cut gelato in a cup with a shot of espresso coffee. I chose the hazelnut gelato with hazelnut topping; it was pretty good but melted quite fast as the espresso was extracted straight into the cup. The texture of the nuts on top was a bit distracting; doesn't really pair well with the warm melty affogato. Also tried a bit of the affogato with the fior di latte gelato which was a much better choice to enjoy the pure coffee flavour with the added neutral sweetness of the fior di latte.

Just hits the spot! After trying Salted Caramel and Pistachio, I fell in love with both. Definitely will be back to try the other flavours (got my eye on honeycomb next). Also, they are quite generous with their portions here ✅

No matter what time of day, there's always a line outside and now I understand why! After finally having the chance to try it, I can confidently say it was well worth the wait. The ice cream menu is conveniently displayed on the wall, which made it easy to make our choices while still in line. It was a thoughtful touch that helped streamline the ordering process, especially with the long queue. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall positive atmosphere of the shop. As for the ice cream itself—absolutely delicious! We tried the mango, coconut, and pistachio flavors, and each one was creamy, flavorful, and refreshing. It’s clear why this place has such a strong reputation. If you're willing to wait a bit for your scoop, you’ll be rewarded with some of the best ice cream around. Definitely a must-visit if you're in the area!
