The hotel did look just as lovely as the website and the beach club was also reflective. The room was small but had a lovely view, no fridge or drink facilities. |Breakfast was good! ||What was so disappointing was the attitude of the staff member on reception. I am not sure if this was due to a communication barrier but she was very dismissive and unhelpful. We were told check in was from 3pm although our Expedia booking confirmation said 2pm. Either way a little information on getting to the beach club or when our room would be ready would be helpful and avoided a frustrating conversation. ||After returning to the hotel we were told the shuttle to the beach club was unavailable, although they made an exception and did take us there, we were left to find our own way back after a phone call the same member of staff refused to bring us back, thank goodness for Uber. ||We were only there for one night, rather than the two emails I received beforehand regarding additional charges, I would have appreciated info on booking shuttles and using the beach club. The website indicated this would be easily available.||The sun terrace did not seem available to us, again no information, you may have to have a suite to get access to this. The roof terrace closed at 7pm so our plans to relax with a drink did not happen. The air con in our room would not go below 21 so left us with an uncomfortable & restless night. In hindsight we wished we had given this hotel a miss.

This place was quite frankly amazing. Our room (Palazzo Suite) was incredible, with stunning views. I could happily have moved in. The staff really went the extra mile - organising shuttles to the beach and station and really happy to chat and make suggestions about the local area. Lovely breakfast with a wonderful sea view , and eggs cooked to order every morning and a nice sweet and savoury selection. Tea, coffee, fresh orange juice brought to the table. Our bed was vast and so comfortable. Entire suite had lovely attentions to detail. Loved the Nespresso machine and the options for filtered water. Main piazza is about 3 mins flat walking. I loved Pizzo and can’t wait to go back. Some great restaurants and wonderful sunsets.

Rated the stay Excellent because there was not a choice for OMG. Hotel was spotless, the room was beyond comfortable, and the staff was amazing. Perfect location with an unbelievable view on the breakfast terrace. Stayed with a bicycle tour group hosted by Tourissimo. Pizzo is a great place to visit. The beach was pleasant and the hotel had beach umbrellas to borrow.

Awful !!! The most unfriendly unhelpful greeting I've ever experienced. The younger woman was actually prevented from checking whether our room was available by the older lady! ( We had been told we may be able to check in early) Left stranded at the Beach Club, the terrace shut at 7pm and air conditioning limited to 21 deg C . Shocking. After a fabulous holiday it was a real shame to end on this note.

Beautiful decor. Wonderful helpful staff. Good breakfast. Very comfortable bed. No in-room facilities such as coffee machine or fridge. If going through booking.com don’t be misled by the photos. Read info on the hotel site as the beach club is run separately and is a mile away. Facilities there have to be paid for. Unless you have a suite booked. The balcony is big enough to stand on, but not sit on. There is a roof terrace with sun beds. Location very good, in the centre of town.

The Piccolo Grand Hotel is in an excellent location for staying in Pizzo. We stayed in a sea view room and it was tastefully decorated, spacious and clean. The staff were also very friendly and extremely helpful throughout our stay. ||Breakfast served on the roof terrace overlooking the sea was excellent, it provided a good selection of hot and cold food items including lovely Italian pastries. The coffee was also really good and freshly made.||Thank you to all staff for providing us with a very pleasant stay.

We only spent one night here after our travel from the US, but it was fabulous. The staff were lovely and helpful. Our bags were lost in transit and they walked us into town to show the best shop to pick up a few clothing items as well as recommended which restaurant would have the best pizza for the night. Domenico also transported us to the train station the next day in their super cool golf cart!

Yelp
Am I seriously the first review this beautiful hotel? First and foremost, when I return to Pizzo, I will definitely stay here again! The Jr. suite was fantastic, it was split level with with a patio that overlooked the ocean. The suite was also adjacent to the breakfast area which was served out on the neighboring patio. The suite also came with goodies in the refrigerator. My only warning is that there were very few people who spoke English here in Calabria so check-in was a little awkward but I seemed to manage just fine. Also parking was a little difficult, the buildings were very close together so there wasn't much room to drive. This location is ideal if you are visiting Tropea which is about a 30 minute drive and I highly recommend visiting the Church of Piedigrotta while you are in town, absolutely incredible and not far from this hotel!
