You can put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig.
This is the best explanation of this venue. The renovations made look great and give it a very rustic farmhouse feel. However, while the house's decor is very warm, unfortunately the management is not.
My wife and I have traveled New England, trying assorted bed and breakfasts and inns. The customer service and hospitality at this venue is by far some of the worst.
My wife and I were here for a wedding when a 75-80" black wooden "antique" bifold door fell on my wife who was 9 months pregnant. The door had been placed in front of inward/outward swinging door to the kitchen, which was knocked over and struck my wife in the head. While accidents happen and I understand that, I was annoyed so I had asked to speak with the owner. I was met with an individual who appeared unwelcoming and unapologetic, that introduced himself as the owner Peter. I questioned Peter about the door and why it would be placed in front of another moving door so close to the patrons or why it wouldn't at least be anchored. He stated the door is meant to be moved and it wasn't his problem. He explained that the decor is his, but he's not accountable for where the vendors place it. Throughout my interaction with Peter, never once did he apologize or ask how my wife was. Meanwhile the vendors apologized and attempted to make efforts to reconcile the situation. The next morning, due to the unsatisfactory of the owners response, I asked if there was any way we could be comped. He said absolutely not, it's not his problem and that we had resolved it last night. Again, never asked how my wife was doing.
Based off of the interaction with owner, and his response to the incident, his actions turned me off to the venue and I'd never go back.
