Just a wonderful meal we had at the Pickle Jar Kitchen! We went on a Sunday in mid September so it was about a 30 min wait time but they took our number and we just went shopping down the street while we waited. But the food was fantastic. We had the French fries which were thin cut and unique, the tofu scramble, and the gluten free French toast. The gluten free French toast was a special treat for me since I haven’t had that dish in a very long time being gluten free. It was fluffy, not too sweet, and hit the spot! My partner said the tofu scramble was one of the best he ever had in a restaurant. The atmosphere was very nice and open, and the coffee was great as well! This restaurant is worth the wait time, so don’t worry!

My first, and hopefully not the last, visit to this quaint restaurant. Upon entering, we were seated at one of the round window tables. I'm a big fan of a good tuna sandwich or wrap, so I ordered the tuna melt on rye bread. The tuna was so tasty and had fresh dill mixed in it. Coupled with what tasted like freshly made rye bread, this might be one of the very best tuna sandwiches I've ever eaten. On the side was an assortment of pickled vegetables. In particular, the pickled cauliflower was a standout. I also ordered lemonade, which was not too sweet, closer to my preference. The staff was very kind and welcoming. So, if you find yourself in the Falmouth area and want a tasty, filling brunch, Pickle Jar Kitchen is a great choice.

Google
Visiting Falmouth and stopped into the Pickle Jar Kitchen for a nice family lunch. Excellent service, dog friendly outdoor seating and wonderful sandwiches and pickles. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a nice lunch out.

Food was very good. My waitress was very nice. The woman at the counter wearing a black dress was not friendly did not look me in the eyes And seemed annoyed when I asked for a bag to carry my things she gave me my change and never said thank you she ruined. The experience probably won’t go back.

Everyone is very personable and attentive. Very local atmosphere. I loved the alcove tables by the windows! It was a very relaxing meal experience.

Google
This is the cutest cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. The breakfast sandwich with ham was served with a side of pickled veggies. The chicken kale soup tasted homemade. We sat in the back patio area under a large maple tree. Very charming and unique setting. Service was very good. Gluten free bread is available for sandwiches.

Google
Very popular spot for lunch that did not disappoint! I got "The Firehouse" sandwich and the pork was moist, tender and full of flavor. The pickled carrots on top added a nice crunch and the bun wasn't soggy at all despite how juicy the meat was. My wife got the "The Pickle Jar Chicken Sammy" and loved every bite. We got the fried pickle chips and fries as a starter. The fries are more like potato sticks and I didn't taste any spice on the ketchup but they were still really good. They have outdoor seating as well as indoor. It can get crowded but they'll take your number and give you a call when seating is ready so you can walk around the small shops nearby while you wait. Highly recommend the firehouse sandwich!!

Yelp
Came here for a quick lunch. I like the space, it's simple but it's got some charm to it. Overall the service was rather average as was the food. Tldr; Town Hall sandwich was OK, nothing special. The Cranberry whipped goat cheese chicken sandwich was dry. Service: We were seated quickly but then didn't have water for a while and never got a refill. The food came out as quickly as expected. Our server wasn't exactly welcoming which didn't make for the most pleasant experience. I don't think we got one smile. Food: The town hall sandwich is $20. I'll keep it short and sweet, it was a tad on the dry side and would have liked the beef to be warmed all the way through (not cooked well done, I mean warm to the touch). The center was still cold. Not to mention, it's simply overpriced for an inexpensive cut like roast beef. My wife got the yogurt and herb marinated fried chicken sandwich with Cranberry whipped goat cheese and man, it made my sandwich seem like it was as juicy as some fresh cut fruit. The chicken sandwich could have been good but the Cranberry whipped goat cheese needed some kind of aioli to go with it, or simply much more of the goat cheese. It was tough to get through. Glad we gave it a shot.

Yelp
Great fresh food fun and quick service in a cozy spot in Falmouth. Amazing creative dishes to fit any taste

Yelp
Be careful about the charges. We visit here all the time when in town. They never give us an itemized receipt. When we asked, we were told they don't do that but can handwrite one. So the 2.5% up charge on credit card and the vague tip policy and taxes left us wondering. I think they add the tip to the receipt before they give you the bill but then they have a tip line when you sign.

Yelp
The food is phenomenal and the ambiance is superb. Everything is perfect! Don't miss it. Oh

Yelp
The food was very yummy. The hash was huge. Our waiter was really nice and gave us great suggestions. Highly recommend

Yelp
I just paid for a 10 dollar egg and cheese sandwich and it was microwaved. Eggs were fine. Cheese was fine. But it was in a cheap baguette I could have gotten from the grocery store and the bread was already rubbery from, well, being microwaved. I would expect a grilled egg and cheese or at the very least toasted bread. Or mom toasted bread even. Bread from Dunkin' Donuts has a better consistency. It came with a bag of pickled vegetables (my order was to go), and guess that heirloom thing, but I was kind of like wtf.

Cindy H.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast!! Had the yogurt parfait & husband had blueberry muffin French toast. Both were delicious. Parfait had homemade granola, fresh blueberries & strawberries & blueberry compote. Had Greek yogurt which is the best. French toast also had the compote & dollop of yogurt. Nothing left on our plates when we left. So nice also had iced coffee which was delicious. On top of this service was great Definitely will get back here while staying in the area!! You should too !

Julie N.

Yelp
Came here after the Cape Cod Half Marathon. The drinks were delicious and the food was pretty good. What took it over the top though were the cupcakes as dessert. We got the cream cheese coconut and it was amazing. Servers were attentive so no complaints there. We sat outside as we had our dog with us and it was very nice little sidewalk spot. Would definitely go back again!

Jeffrey And Wife S.

Yelp
Cute, informal place with simple sandwiches, salads and soups and a bakery with lots of tempting, decadent-looking things. There were gluten-free options and our server was very nice. I also enjoyed perusing their shelf of antique cookbooks and children's books! Very classic-old-Cape-Cod.

Leah S.

Yelp
Cute and filling lunch spot with both indoor/outdoor seating. We were seated promptly on a busy summer Friday afternoon. Service was not quite attentive but we loved to people watch while we waited. The side salad was uniquely prepared with spiral carrots and fresh greens. The town hall sandwich was packed mile high with meat, tucked in by tasty rye bread, and topped off with a great pickled onion/mustard combo. The Village Green sandwich was on the dry side. We both weren't impressed by the pickled vegetable sides, but perhaps they just weren't for us.

Bill R.

Yelp
Great breakfast spot. I had the hash and it was an enormous plateful of food. Food was good, coffee was good, service was good. Try this place out, you'll like it.

Larry V.

Yelp
Good flavors...,.but $18 dollar sandwiches leave you hungry for more.....egg salad was 1 hard boil egg cut in slices, the vegetables were fresh but this should be a $8 sandwich at best. The Nobska sandwich had just a few pieces of salmon, again flavors are good. Gave it 3 stars because it's not the greatest value.

Elizabeth Z.

Yelp
We started off really strong! The inside was super cute, and the staff was super friendly, attentive and helpful! My party of three ordered the fried pickle chips to start and lemonades. Both of these items were fantastic and I would recommend getting them (fair warning the small lemonade really is SMALL). For mains we ordered, the "RoadRace Roll", "The Pickle Jar Chicken Sandwich" and the "Village Green". Unfortunately, none of these items met our expectations. To start, all of these meals felt extremely under seasoned and bland. The Roadhouse Roll was in fact not served on a roll (as advertised) but in a green wrap. Both of the other two sandwiches were also underwhelming in terms of flavor. My "Pickle Jar Sandwich" was also really small for the price of 14 dollars. Our total came out to 75$ before tip, which we felt was not reflective of the quality of food. We just felt a little let down by the food. Photos are included!

Yelp
Great quality food but subpar hospitality. Here's the quick summary. We have come to this place as regulars for several years. My wife loves a particular plate which draws us back. So quality of the food is generally really good. This is the pro. Negatives are: - sometimes pretty rude staff - getting a coffee refill takes quite a while - prices extremely highly vs others around town Today, waited nearly an hour after being seated for breakfast to come out. Note: we showed up at the open. Others that seated after us received food before us. We had to leave for an appointment and told them 20 minutes before we had to leave. Food still didn't come, was stuck with a bill, and no apology. If you only care about high quality food, this is a good spot and nice location. If you care about service with a smile, you may not be that happy. I've run out of forgiving subpar service. Today was our last visit.

Luke G.

Yelp
It is solid food. Came back after 7 years and big difference but the same vibe and style. Good service too!

Paul S.

Yelp
What can I say about this place... well, it's awful. The prices? My word! Who is their usual clientele, sheiks? After dealing with the owner? Manager? Whatever she was her name was Elisabeth and she was a dreadfully nasty woman. The food was so-so (not worth the ridiculous price) but I was really put off by the energy of the staff. It all made sense once I was introduced to Elisabeth. She was very rude and her surliness and unwillingness to listen to our concerns even made my daughter cry. We love our trips to the cape, we love going to breakfast. Looks like we will be sticking with the pancake man after this endeavor!

Frederick J.

Yelp
Oh pickle jar pickle jar. I wish you were open longer, we just love you and your pickles. And your sandwiches. And your cup cakes. And your soups. Don't ever leave us dear sweet pickle jar.

Bob L.

Yelp
I've had 2 great lunches here. Food and service was outstanding. It's not cheap but the location demands that.

Melissa G.

Yelp
We popped in for a coffee during a rainstorm and saw the food coming to everyone else's table, so we got an appetizer. We got" The Plowmans Selection (for 2) $21, an assortment of the house roasted meats, cheeses, and pickles served with whole grain dijonaisse, artisan greens, and toasted bread." It was enough for two adults to have a full lunch, absolutely perfect pickles. The house made lemonade was the best we've ever tried, the iced coffee was weak and watered down.

DD W.

Yelp
Very long wait, nearly 1 hour, during transition from breakfast until lunch. Wonderful location. Very good food

Lindsey H.

Yelp
I was so excited to try Pickle Jar Kitchen after seeing the ratings. Unfortunately my egg sandwich was blah- the sausage had a weird texture and then I pulled a massive hair out of the sandwich (was not mine). The atmosphere and service was great but I was super disappointed with the food

Ann J.

Yelp
Went by the awesome reviews. There was an hour and 40 min wait but we put our name down and walked along Main Street. Got called back in less than the predicted wait. The fries are like chips which can be good if you like the Spanish "fries" which we do! The fried pickles are made with their fresh pickles, not like at a typical bar with the jarred stuff. The adults liked that. The kids didn't lol The curry pork sandwich (pictured) was not as expected. More like cold cuts with a thin spread of a curry sauce. Nothing special and felt like we were eating left over pork from last night's dinner at home. Fills the hunger but doesn't leave you satisfied. I personally loved the pickle sides! That was a plus. None of the sandwiches were amazing though and it was an expensive meal for what I felt was average across the board.

Alyanna T.

Yelp
This was our fourth time at Pickle Jar over the last couple of years, but my first review. I adore this place and have to stop by every time we're in Falmouth or the upper cape! For lunch this time around, my partner and I got the pastrami spice cured salmon, open faced BBQ boneless pork, fried house-made garlic and dill pickle chips, plus edible flower mimosa and dragonfruit G&T drinks; and for breakfast, which we came back the next day for lol, ordered the tofu scrambler and Town Hall sandwich - TASTE: 5/5 - the pickled vegetable sides were extremely flavorful and satisfying! Also, the salmon and cream cheese combo is a classic, the pastrami-spiced roast beef in the Town Hall was excellent, and I loved the peppery taste of the pickle chips' ranch sauce. Wish the tofu scrambler had more seasoning, I was surprised that dish fell short TEXTURE: 4/5 - the bagel (salmon) had a great toasted crunch, and the scone (BBQ boneless pork) was perfectly flaky. Unsurprisingly, the pickle chips were addicting! PRICE: 4/5 - didn't realize the salmon would be so steep. Otherwise, everything else was priced decently SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - definitely satisfying for brunch/lunch SERVICE: 4/5 - despite the weekend rush, we were seated in 5-10 minutes. Our waitress was awesome and served up a fun fact about Guy Fieri's visit too lol ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - on a sunny day, it was really relaxing to sit outdoors on Main St and people watch! The dishes are plated nicely too PARKING: 5/5 - street parking can be hit or miss, but there's free lot parking for the town hall across the street

Yelp
The food is excellent, as is the service. The ambiance is acceptable. Opening up the rear patio was a good move. The food is healthy.

Allie M.

Yelp
Delicious and fresh food. Great for breakfast or lunch. Love the bog salad. Very friendly staff, too.

Jennie P.

Yelp
I'm from out of town and this place was a great find. The food was great, the server was kind and sweet. The whole restaurant was adorable. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Kate S.

Yelp
It was overhyped of how good it was but the fried pickles were the best part! None of the other food stood out, would rather have eaten elsewhere tbh :(

Liz J.

Yelp
This place stays busy! Expect to wait! Staff are friendly and the food is fresh! Their pickles are tasty and they tend to incorporate into every dish. They also have a small selection of cookies and muffins. Def check them out.

Jenni F.

Yelp
Great bloody Mary and the pickled veggies are amazing!! Egg sandwich was good- the bread was a sub roll and would of been better on an English muffin or biscuits. Staff was friendly but parking was tough. Small dining area with some outdoor seating .

Emma J.

Yelp
Why a great place! We stopped in here on our way out of town and the ambience was perfect. We were seated at a window booth and ordered the Boursin BLT, I'll be honest I was a bit weary about cheese on my BLT, but it was really tasty! My dad got the gazpacho which he really enjoyed and the chicken sammy. The yogurt was actually purple when it came out which was a little jarring but my dad loved it! Also it was super cheap!

Jack P.

Yelp
The food was good, not great. Just ok. I would eat here again for a casual lunch because it was decent, but it's nothing I'd ever crave because it was simple and not exciting. The most memorable part was the fried pickles appetizer. That was really good. The chicken sandwich was fine but didn't really stand out.

Elysa F.

Yelp
The food was great and the service was quick! I would definitely recommend sitting outside on a beautiful day.

Steph W.

Yelp
Great sandwiches. The pickle selection isn't what you'd imagine. Instead of a variety of pickled cucumbers. It's just a different variety of different vegetables. They're still good, I just wish there were more regular pickles to try. The sandwiches we got were great. Glad we were finally able to catch them open with their short hours.

Tina D.

Yelp
Very good take out. The place was packed when I arrived, but we enjoyed our meals to go.

Chris M.

Yelp
We ordered pick up and it was really delicious. I was craving an egg salad sandwich so I was pleasantly surprised to see it on the menu. Just a heads up that it's more of their take on an egg salad sandwich and not a traditional egg salad sandwich. It tasted delicious but wasn't what I was looking for. Had a friend try the sandwich with the cranberry goat cheese and a friend try the salad with the cranberry goat cheese and both were RAVING about their choices. Will definitely try again soon!

Beth L.

Yelp
Sandwiches were excellent. It was very busy so we got it to go. The tuna wrap was fresh and healthy tasting. The pickles were of course delicious.

Richard P.

Yelp
Service is great, nice setting out back on the patio. The food was disappointing. The sandwiches were overloaded with greens and extremely short on the highlighted protein, which was poorly prepared I would add. The potato fries were thin strips of potato, which were overcooked. Lastly they state that they are offering a cash discount over credit card, when in fact it is clearly an over charge for use of a credit card of 2.5%. They certainly need a few grownups there to sort things out.

Brian A.

Yelp
Kind of a disappointed experience although the service was great. The fried pickles were delicious, piping hot and served with Ranch dressing The egg salad was just really strange. It was a fluffy, fresh oversized sesame topped bread with slices of hard boiled eggs The inside was painted with mayo. Nothing like the expected egg salad. My roast beef sandwich was good but kind of thrown together. I'd def go back for the fried pickles but not a sandwich

Sonia M.

Yelp
Overpriced for what you get. The food was just average. We got Tofu sandwich - good Buratta salad - overdressed greens and a not so fresh buratta Open faced BBQ sandwich- very good Chicken Sammie - very dry and tasteless Home fries - these are shoestring chips and not fries

Abby S.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place since the space inside was very cute and the menu had a lot of options, but unfortunately I do not think I would return here. I tried the Road Race Roll and the Village Green special sandwiches. The Village Green was definitely a cut above the road race roll, but still nothing too interesting or exciting. The service was fantastic and friendly, but maybe we just tried the wrong entrees.

June S.

Yelp
When we first visited this spot a few years ago, we became big fans. It was good too see they are still popular with the locals, and open during most of the Winter months. Although, they do close for a few months, so check before you go if you want to go after the holiday season. At our last visit, we had their Fried Pickle Chips. It was so tasty, even the non-pickle-lover (me) loved it, so we had to have it again! It was still as amazing as I remembered...Another appetizer we had at our last visit was The House Fry, "Loaded" which was so awesome, we had to do a repeat on this too... For main, we ordered Pickle Jar Chicken Sammies and The Firehouse Sammies. Pickle Jar Chicken Sammies had strong goat cheese flavor, which was nice. The chicken had great crunchy exterior, with juicy, moist inside. One tasty Sammy! The Firehouse was more sweet than anything, with a hint of spices that comes at the end. I was expecting it to be more spicy... Regardless, it was really tasty, tangy and juicy. So, did we have a successful second visit? I say yes! Our server was really nice and friendly, the food was as great as we remembered, and as great as we wanted them to be. We will be sure to return again!

Rebecca C.

Yelp
This place is best for breakfast. We came for lunch and it was clearly a local favorite. My son had an egg sandwich and I had the loaded chips. I would come back for breakfast.

Linda A.

Yelp
Went to lunch here today . It wasn't my best experience . It was more about the atmosphere than the food . My friend and I were seated toward the back of the restaurant . Matter of fact the last table in the room . Unfortunately right after we ordered the restaurant go a delivery . Yup , you guessed it the back door was right near us . The delivered took 15 minutes or so . The back door was open the entire time despite my asking the waiter to shut the door . He said when they were finished they would . We live on Cape Cod and it is April ! About 52 degrees outside . Need I say more . It is 4 pm and I am still cold . Back to the food . I got the greek salad . It was a little over dressed with vinergery dressing . My friend got the Road Race roll which she liked . But dinning is about the entire experience not just eating food . Hope I warm up soon .

Julie D.

Yelp
I stopped in here for a late breakfast during my travels based on other YELP reviews. My initial greeting was friendly enough and I got a seat fairly fast but the service and food was just not what I was hoping or expecting. The bar seats look really nice but they are the most uncomfortable seats I have ever had to sit in ( and I had to sit in them for A LONG time ). The bar seats do not move so if you are vertically challenged like me you literally have to sit/stand to fit and reach the bar. It took quite a long time for anyone to bring me a menu and even longer for someone to take my order. The food took about 45 minutes to arrive so all in all my eating experience took 2 hours in which I did not receive a coffee refill which I tried asking for. The food was decent but not spectacular; the highlight was definitely the house made blueberry jam.

Ray K.

Yelp
5 Pickle Chips: crispy light breading that adhered well 4 Plowmans Selection: Mellow flavors in the meats and low acidity in the pickled veg, K loved the pulled pork, M liked the Roast beef and swiss

Jennifer W.

Yelp
This restaurant had quite a long wait on the Sunny Saturday (yesterday). My sister put our name in for an outside table. We probably waited around 25 minutes. It did seem that they may not have had enough servers to meet the needs of those dining. My mother enjoyed her blt on sourdough. The fries were crisp. I wasn't such a fan of the turkey fingers; although the presentation was nice.

Douglas D.

Yelp
The "Firehouse" sandwich was very good. Could have been a little spicier, but overall a good sandwich. The house fries are a tasty treat. The service is excellent. Overall a good experience.

Tim K.

Yelp
Chic, welcoming, fun. For an easy, tasty, lunch in Falmouth the Pickle Jar rocks it. It was 2:40 PM. The place closes at 3. We asked if it was too late to grab a bite to eat. We didn't want to be "that guy". We couldn't have been more wrong. We were welcomed and served graciously. The chicken, kale, quinoa soup was a perfect start to a cool day.Their chicken sammie comes on a fresh bun loaded with marinated cranberry goat cheese. You chicken sandwich lovers will love this. They have a specialty sandwich called the Village Green. Out of this world tasty. Really nice folks there add to the delight. You can sit outside... temp depending. By the way if you're there for a cocktail as well, might I suggest the "warm" Berkshire bourbon apple cider cocktail!

Nicole R.

Yelp
These types of restaurants always confuse the heck out of me. Rave reviews with basic ass food. I don't get it. Then I eat here... and then I get it. Oh. I GET IT. THE FRIED PICKLES. life changing. I would drive the five hours from New York just to eat those fried pickles again. So crunchy. And so pickley. How do they do it!? Amazing. Superb. Great work. Sandwich was nice and crispy too. Oh yeah and our waitress was really nice!
