Thank you to everyone who posted the fantastic reviews. We came because of the 5 star reviews. We live in Adelaide and my wife was born in India. By far some of the best Indian food we have ever had. The photo says it all. Pickled Evening will now be our bench mark for future Indian meals. Amazing food and lovely staff and atmosphere. Again thank you for dinner.

What a find. I couldn’t fault this restaurant. I advise you book a table as we did. Left a message and had a response within minutes. The staff are super friendly and efficient. The food arrived very promptly and was delicious. Some of the best Indian food I’ve had. I sometimes find I over order at Indian restaurants, but the waiter advised us we didn’t need as much as we intended to order. I was very impressed. We had the mango lassi with our meal which was perfect. It’s also very reasonably priced. Thank you for such a lovely meal.

Google
A fabulous evening. We were a group of 28 and the restaurant handled us as well as a table for 2. Well done, especially after our poor experience at another Launceston restaurant! The food at Pickled Evenings was great, the service friendly, attentive and prompt and we enjoyed a wonderful final evening in Launceston. Thank you.

Google
Man this food is bland. The vindaloo tasted like tomato sauce and the palak paneer was sweet :( Very nice staff though and beautiful atmosphere. I like spicy and flavourful Indian food.

My overall experience was good. I had Palak Kofta, Dal Tadka Yellow, Mango Lassi and the taste was really good. It's good to book your table in advance as it can be very busy and waiting for food can be a bit longer. Staff is friendly and ambience is good. They have vegetarian as well as non vegetarian options along with cocktails and alcohol. Highly recommended.

Good location, plenty of parking nearby. Must try biryani and Goan vegetable curry. Customer service is average but more than compensated by the excellent quality of food. Seating is spread across multiple levels as well some available outside.

Absolutely delicious food! We were visiting from Victoria and read previous reviews before deciding to give this place a try. Did not disappoint - would definitely recommend.

This is a fabulous Indian Restaurant and now one of our favourites this end of Australia. The service was excellent, Sophie clearly loves working here and is a real asset apart from the chefs of course! We will certainly be back. Thank you! 🙏

Yelp
Was in Launceston on a road trip vacation. Wanted some Indian food and our b&b host recommended this spot. Best garlic naan and fish curry I have ever had. Perfectly cooked fish. Naan was so tasty that we added another order. Really friendly, patient service. Upstairs area was very inviting and great air flow. Parking was convenient - plenty of spots on the streets outside.

Yelp
I have eaten here twice now, once with a group and once with just one other person. Service is friendly and efficient and the food - the real inside story you want to know - was fantastic! Delicious, well cooked, presented and generous servings. Looking forward to going back again one day soon.

Yelp
The prawn masala curry was darn good - sweet and tasty! The curry deserves a 4 or 5 ... ... but the prawns themselves did not taste great. If I ordered again, I would have asked for paneer instead of prawns. Also, the garlic naan was wet, but since I had mine for takeaway, maybe this was a factor.

Yelp
When you are away from home - you crave home cooked meals. So we ordered takeaways on a cold wintery day - butter chicken, lamb vindaloo and garlic naan. Lets say the naan was the best thing. My quest to find the best Indian in Australia so far has failed miserably. The lamb was boiled or cooked separately - well it seemed that way and then simply added to the vindaloo sauce. For that simple reason, I rarely order a lamb dishes at Indian restaurants. The butter chicken was quite sweet (but my kids loved it). And the naan was the winner!

Yelp
If you're stuck in launceston trying to decide where to eat. Go here and you won't be disappointed. Waiting for the food to arrive took longer than I'd expected but it was well worth the wait.

Yelp
This place is ok, just ok. The chickpea fritters suck, it tasted like they were out of a packet and served with sweet chilli sauce... Really? And then the curry, although was pretty good it was $21.00 for like a cup full. The naan was good. This places charges too much for what you're getting and has a reputation that exceeds itself.

Yelp
Menu is reasonable for vegetarian and vegan options with a nice wine selection that is fairly priced. The service was ultra fast for the amount of patrons dining this evening.

Yelp
Realized not a lot of Aussie's use yelp so Ill be the first reviewer for Pickled Evenings! We somehow stumbled upon this restaurant and our first experience was for take away, it was a cold evening and we decided we would have some curry to warm us up as we werent use to the COLD. My husband orderd the lamb madras and I ordered the vegatable korma. The madras was heaven, creamy and just the right spicys, my korma was good too but I found myself eating mostly off my hubby's plate as I couldnt get enought of this creamy heaven. We returned again at a later date for dine in and we ordered the lamb and chicken madras, perfection just like the first time! The spinach and cheese naan bread was nothing special but I recommend the garlic naan bread instead, so yummy soft and just the right amount of garlic. I just hope we can somehow find a Indian restaurant back home (California) that can deliver such an amazing madras....

Yelp
Great service and food was excellent. Good sized servings and prompt service. Enjoyed the evening - thanks

Yelp
Great food, a good menu and great atmosphere all at a good price with friendly service. As the rating says "yay! I'm a fan"
