Picol Hostal

Incredible value for the money. Hot showers, daily room cleaning, and excellent reception staff. One of them, Juvenal was so friendly and professional. He gave me an amazing recommendation to check out Choquequirao, and I ended up doing a 3 day hiking trip which was one of the best adventure experiences I’ve ever done, period. Super grateful to have stayed there.

Very good experience, the reception guys are super nice, the rooms have comfy beds and hot shower (quite basic, but absolutely enough), breakfast is modest but good and you always get something extra for later (banana). Its very central and walking distance from anything you might need and explore.

Comfy pillows. Guys at counter are great and speak wonderful English. Quite at night, mostly. Hottest shower we’ve had here. Only complaints would be the WiFi is absolutely terrible, constantly disconnects and will not reconnect, doesn’t really work well when it’s connected. Ended up just using my data. We stayed in room 204 and the shower floods the entire bathroom in minutes, leaving you standing in a pool. Tile leaks.

Reasonably priced double room with private bathroom. The staff were very kind and attentive and gave us tea and gifts on arrival. House keeping was of high standard. Breafast was standard. They even left my partner a card and gift in our room after his birthday. Great location- close to the Plaza de Armas and lots of good resturants close by. A very comfortable stay.

This was a great place to stay. We stayed a total of 8 nights over three different times in July 2015. The last 5 days we had a room overlooking the street which was very nice. The staff are very helpful and hospitable. The location is excellent as we were able to walk to most everything in a few minutes. Close to laundry and many eating places at very affordable prices. Breakfast was good and the shower had hot water. The beds were very comfortable and the wifi was excellent. I highly recommend this hostal.

Really liked this hostal. The location is excellent, down a quiet alley, less than ten minutes from Plaza de Armas. The room was perfect with enough storage space and also a heater. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was quite good. My only issue was the doorbell, could hear it clearly in the room and it always seemed to be used a lot from 5am so I couldn't sleep from this time.

Picol was a good choice! Great price, friendly, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and the setting was cozy. Denise booked my cab to and from the airport for 8 soles a ride--a great deal! The rooms were clean, the beds and pillows comfortable and the water was hot. The location was convenient and close to the market, plaza and grocery store. I will definitely stay again the next time I'm in Cusco!

This hostal exceeded my expectations. It is definitely not luxurious but it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We stayed here before and after the inca trail. The staff was super helpful, they packed breakfast for us when we had to leave early, arranged taxis, .... We could just leave or luggage in our room when leaving for the inca trail. When we came back our luggage was waiting for us in our new room.||The breakfast was also excellent and the hostal is located on a short walk from the main square.||I'd definitely recommend this hostal to everyone who doesn't want to spend too much on a hotel. 50 dollar a night is really well spend here.
