10 Top International Cities for Pastry

"For savory options in London, Pieminister is the place to wander over to, with recommended pies including the traditional Moo (steak and ale), the Free Ranger (chicken, ham, and leek), and a spanakopita-style option called Light as a Feta, showcasing creative and hearty British pies." - Stacey Ballis

I had a very good hot Deer-Beer Pie. The meat was super hot, juicy and super tender. The pies was all in all very good, not too dry and fresh.

We had the Moo Pie and the Heidi Pie and they were delicious. Very flaky melts-in-your-mouth well made crust, you can see it’s not store bought. Good size for lunch. Wished I would’ve gone either the cold version, just because it pretty hot and we were too hungry to wait for it to cool down. The seller was very nice 😊!

Our first pie in London, and was a very decent one! 🥧 didn’t know what to expect to be honest, and was excited to try one of their famed dishes. Ordered the fungi mushroom, and thought the filling was fairly generous - we didn’t love the sauce though, but it’s probably just us as it’s some form of cream based sauce. While it’s not a dish that we love and enjoy, it’s a good pie for a first try.

This pieminister is located in the Borough Market. The atmosphere and buzz of the market adds to the experience. I tried a Moo and Blue. The pie itself is unremarkable. Not a particularly flaky crust but the flavor was good. There’s some seating nearby and it’s quite enough to have a conversation. There’s also a coffee booth close by if you’re interested.

Absolutely fantastic pies. They pies themselves were crispy and flaky on the outside, and were bursting with flavourful filling on the inside. My favourite is definitely the Fungi Chicken pie, which is filled with a rich and creamy chicken and mushroom filling. HIGHLY recommend coming here when you visit Borough Market!!

BRILLIANT! The Moo&Blue pie is everything that you want to eat before your last breath. Amazing combination of stewed meat and matured cheese in a unique pastry piece. Try it!

Arrived at the Borough market without knowing what to expect. Got a good feeling about this meat pie stand and gave it a try 😍😍😍 Oh my goodness, their moo pie was warm and delicious. Highly recommended.

Pieminister is a chain of pie shops that originated in Bristol, England. They have a number of locations in London, including one in Borough Market. The Borough Market location is a small stall for takeaway pies. The pies at Pieminister are made with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. They offer a wide variety of pies, including both traditional and more creative options. Some of the signature pies include the Steak and Ale Pie, the Chicken and Mushroom Pie, and the Vegetarian Pie. Overall, the pies are yummy, filling, and good value for money for the location, and a great food to munch on whilst roaming around Borough Market.
