We went for a birthday party and it was a fantastic experience. The location is excellent for families, and everyone had a blast thanks to the fun music. They had the skating PVC guards for the kids to help with their balance and confidence.

Great roller skating rink. You can rent roller skates or inline skates. The floor is made of this plastic crate like material with holes in them. Certain days and times are admission ($12 usually) free, where you only pay for rental ($8 skates for adults). The rink is big and music is played while you skate. Rental lockers cost 25 cents. There are bathrooms and water fountains near by. Great views of lower Manhattan and the Brooklyn bridge. Great date activity or just being a kid again. Prices are competitive and affordable. There is a waiting area with benches and tables. The hardest part is putting on the skates. Maybe I have big feet, but it was very difficult putting on the skates. You are also required to wear wrist guards, which is included with your rental.

Love this location for tennis! Although the courts are for training. The view here is great and it is pretty lively on weekends. Some of the courts are shaded so when it is hot and sunny people tend to use that. Some people play basketball or other forms of contact sports. There are bike lanes as well!

I went for Free Friday's. 330-6pm. Free admission. Just pay for skate rental. Parking is terrible. I suggest a cab.

I have not skated in 30yrs. My co-workers wanted to do something as a family, so this is what they chose. Before you can get your skates, you have to sign a waiver that is on a QR code. If you prefer not to scan the QR, you can go online and fill out the form that way. The entire staff there are very professional, kind and helpful. One of the young men showed us the correct way to put on our wrist protection and instructed us how to use the trainer. He said you can't lean on it like a cane, it will flip over. We listened except for one of us, and well, he fell forward. I must say I had a lot of fun. It's a nice place and the skating rink is outside. I highly recommend Pier 2.

My older son has gone a few times. I finally decided to bust out my little bubble and take the chance to go with both my sons as it was out doors. Few things to TB on. It was very smooth for the check in. By your ticket, sign a waiver get your wristband and they go over for your wrist protectors. This is where I was a little turned off. The wristbands were wet. I will say they were wet as they spray them. The young lady was very sweet though. The minute she saw my reaction she apologized and explained why and offered to give me ones that had dried already. Once she gave them to me I did notice a lot of them were beat up. Maybe time to invest in some new ones and my kids straps did keep coming off but we made it work. I would bring my own next time as you can't skate without them. I'm just assuming if you can bring your own skates you should be able to bring your own wristbands. But again I didn't get the chance to ask so I'm assuming I can. Now off to get our skates again they spray them so they were wet inside. Lucky I travel with cleaning supplies, first aid kit and paper towels 🤣. I was able to dry them then I noticed they didnt have insoles. I checked my kids and theirs did. The laces are terrible but once you manage to get them through the holes if the top lace part still has the little plastic your good to go. If not I spent about 20 mins for both skates trying to put the laces through. Maybe some new laces for the ones that desperately need them. Now onto the rink. I loved how spacious it was. As another reviewer stated there is an area that needs to be fixed. But it's a very tiny area in the huge rink. If I wasn't trying to be fancy and show off to my kids that mama still got it going backwards I probably wouldn't have noticed it. But just a little trip no fall. The skyline while skating with the great mix of music was everything. I would definitely come back. It's something great to be able to do with all ages and enjoy. Especially when you have kids that are so far apart in age. For $17 to enter which includes skates/wristbands I think it's well worth it. The little skate helper made of tubes is $6 each. Sorry I don't know what the exact name is lol.

Had an amazing time here with the birthday party package. Jenny was such an amazing host, for a first time host as well! She took care of all our needs, and had so much charisma and great energy. This was a great place for the kids as you can see the Manhattan skyline and Statue of Liberty from there. Pizza was solid!

I recommend everyone check out this spot. It's children friendly & lots to do for everyone. It has basketball courts, ratchet ball courts, swings, space to just work out on grass. Oh & my favorite a Skating Rink for all ages. It's in a safe neighborhood. Pier 2 in Bklyn was built only 10yrs prior so it's still pretty new to the Promenade area. So, is the Boat Ferry to Manhattan only $4.00 one way if u don't want to take the train. Oh, by the way u must sign a Waiver to skate & u must have ur wrist guards or take the chance of wearing their nasty stink, itchy wrist guard. My friend said theirs were itchy & smelly. I had my own everything even skates & knee pads. I'm a germ a phobe. Staff, don't monitor entrance well enough they let ppl linger & pile up there. It's sometimes hard to exit. I'm surprised, that's not a fire hazard to constantly, block entrance/exit. A very good Skate Instructor is : Ramirez (201) 870-0696 he teaches kids & adults. Great personality & he'll meet u in Bklyn, Manhattan, Queens etc maybe Jersey.

Rude employees, its pretty much a janky skate rink . The views are nice but its near the basketball courts where things can get get weird . There are better and safer locations to skate.

It's a concrete outdoor activities jungle with terrific views of Manhattan and plenty to enjoy. Yes, there is a skating rink here with many hockey games going on. I've run a bunch of races around here and also noticed a lot of other sports related activities available such as shuffleboard, bocce ball, handball courts, kayaking, playgrounds for the kids, basketball, among others. Plenty of benches around if you just want to relax with the water views. I've also attended the NYRR Brooklyn half marathon pre-party here. Bib and shirt pickup. Course explanations. Tips and strategy sessions. Energy drink and nutrition samples. If you're a sports and athletics person it's worth spending some time here.

Was invited to my nieces bday party. The view is amazing. It was a breezy and kind of rainy day so it was a bit cold. Didn't realize even for bday parties it's not a separate room it's actually still outside. Party was from 4-6:30. Most guest were there before 4. By the time the girl got the orders for skates and brought them it was 30 minutes. My niece and friends ages ranged from 10-12. My youngest daughter 7 years old waited almost an hour to get the piece to help you skate. Sorry i don't know the name of it. Finally i personally went to see what was taking so long. It was given to me immediately. She said the was very busy and clearly overwhelmed. I told her had she said i can get it , it would've been faster. On top of that there was a $5 charge for that. According to my brother they didn't state that. The girl was young but too shy for this kind of work. The girls were chatting so she didn't want to disrupt them to ask their shoe size. She waited like 15 minutes. Like seriously. I told her speak up and just kindly ask the girls the size why would you wait for them to finish a conversation. We wasted time we could've been skating. The bathroom was pretty clean. We might come again but not for a bday party. Definitely not worth the money.

Warning- SKATE AT YOUR OWN RISK! I'm not too crazy about this place, although I can say I had a bit of fun. First of all the floor covering they use to cover up what seems like an old ice hockey rink is all wrong. In some places it's unstable and if you're not careful you can really hurt yourself and that's what happened to my daughter. She had the safety walker and all and still managed to hurt her ankle. She will be ok, she's young and it wasn't that bad. That's not the point the point is they make the adults sign this waiver where you are responsible for your own safety and on this waiver even suggested that if you don't have insurance you shouldn't skate. They are not taking any responsibility for anything. I did read that if you see anything odd it's your responsibility to make them aware. I made them aware about the area on the rink that someone could get hurt and they seem to already know about it but still continue to let people skate. No warning in that area! They even put up cones but not where it should have been. It's not cool at all to continue to take people's money knowing you have this problem. How about you warn us about that and then let us sign a waiver. After what happened my youngest daughter just gave up! She was over it. My brother said he didn't like the floor at all, and after about 30 to 45 mins of being there everyone was ready to go. Even though it was free to skate, it still can add up to be a bit pricey. It was $7 to rent skates, $11 for the walkers, .25 per locker and once you open it, that's it unless you have another quarter so don't forget anything once you put your items in. So overall I wouldn't mind coming back, but only on a free skating day, during the hours that it's free, because then they change the offer to something else, ex. Adult Night then you have to pay for everything and I don't feel like it's worth it. My daughter that got hurt said she would come back to, she's no quitter, as for my baby she's still over it!

I scheduled a kid's party for my daughter at Pier 2 roller skating rink and I had a very bad experience. my host never came to check on me. I had to keep getting up to get my things. When I approached the issue she said they were short staff. The staff was very rude. They need older staff to be able to run the place appropriately. There is a lot of young staff and the place is very unorganized. I play a lot of money and do not feel I got my money's worth. I would never recommend or plan another party there.

I came here for a skate date and had a relatively good time. On Saturdays, the cost of admission for adults is $11 and an additional $7 for skate rentals. You must wear wrist guards, and fortunately, these are free. I would advise renting a locker for 25 cents if you have any loose items. Beware, some lockers were not so clean. So make sure you check before use. The skates are not in the best condition and are men's sizes. The rink can be best described as a giant blue mat with bumps and dips. I have a bit of PTSD after falling flat on my a** skating over one of these bumps once. Since then, I make sure to proceed with caution. I prefer the wooden rinks as they offer a smoother ride. There are some pros: the music and views of the Manhattan Skyline were the mains for me. It's not the worst skating rink and not the best either.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon in the summer! $11 admission for adults $7 skate rental 25 cents for a locker Bring socks!! Service: 4/5 Employees are kind! Somethings are not as straight forward. We waited in thee drink/food line for a bit before someone finally let us know that the booth for skates is further down. You sign a waiver, pay for skates/admission and then pick up your skates in the next booth. They have both roller-skates and rollerblades available, in men sizes. They provide wrist guards for free that you have to wear. You have to wait for someone to come and assist you with putting on the wrist guards. Lowkey the wrist guards are kind of sweaty and gross but it is what it is. Vibe: 4/5 Views of the city are breathtaking here! It's a bit of a walk to get to the rink at Pier 2 but once you do it's obvious. There are basketball courts, tennis courts, and the rollerskating rink. Whoever was on AUX understood the assignment! They were playing a good mix of old school Beyonce, R&B, and new Afrobeats like Burna Boy. Some of the songs were repeated but I was not complaining, just dancing and skating. It wasn't too crowded when I went. The rink is a weird rubber like format. Luckily, I didn't fall but I'm assuming if you did it wouldn't hurt as bad. My only gripe here is that the rink isn't smooth and has some large bumps which are not ideal. Overall, I had a bomb time here! I'll probably bring my skates next time. This is a fun no frills place with nice views perfect for a girl's night out, birthday party, or date night!

It was fun. It's outdoors and covered. The downside is that the skate floor isn't smooth. Having not been on skates for over 20 years, a smoother surface would have helped. My little never skated and the mat made it difficult for him.

My family and I had a fantastic time here in May. The view! Omg! Amazing backdrop of the NYC skyline and the Statue of Liberty! The rink was a little crowded but it dies down quick. It was a bit chilly the night we went. Staff was ok. The music playlist could've used some attention. We were there about 2-3 hours, and managed to hear a few songs played multiple times. We will definitely go back again in the fall! Really puts the roller rinks in the Los Angeles area to shame. That being said, the rink floor could use a touch up. Good times tho!

Had a great SAFE time However we were told That we could not display birthday decorations if not reserved in advance. The tables are PLAIN and OUTSIDE similar to picnic tables at a park. That was my only negative with the visit. The staff could also present in a more professional manner. They were at times rude

Review for Roller skating $9 admission, $8 skate rental 1 quarter for the lockers. They recycle the wrist guards so if you come early, they won't be sweaty yet. Shoes were really comfortable and run slightly larger. We came on Friday at 7pm for 80s night and there was surprisingly no wait at all. Better yet, there wasn't anyone on the floor either so for a beginner like me it was perfect for practicing with less stress. The earlier you come the longer you can skate for.

I came here one night, I had a blast and thought it would be fun to go again for my birthday. The floor guard was SO SO SO unbelievably rude to my friends and I. I stopped at the side of the rink so my friend could catch her breath because it was her first time skating and he started yelling at my friends and I. Literally screaming from across the rink, not letting anyone have fun. I could see people were very disturbed by this disgruntled employee. I could barely hear the music over his yelling and whistling. I began simply skating backwards because I am an experienced skater and he blew his obnoxious whistle at me multiple times and screamed at me. I have been to many skating rinks, and this was BY FAR the worst experience I've had. I even took out my phone for a second and he screamed at me, I left after that. My friends and I skated for maybe 30 minutes because this awful old white man was SO unbelievably rude. Very unprofessional. If you are coming with kids, all he will do is whistle and yell at them. This did not only happen to me, but to many other people on the rink. I do not recommend. This experience was a waste of money. Never going back again. I would love a refund thanks.

Skate wheel were not good. A worker there was really nasty and rude. Because one of the workers gave us the wrong information.

Pier 2 Roller rink was truly a fun experience. i was searching all over for a great skating rink and came across this place, i made the right choice. i truly enjoyed skating here. The vibes and music was on point. I enjoyed friday reggae nights, it was truly the best. my man and i had a blast; we will definitely be returning next summer after the pandemic is over. The walk towards the skating rink was beautiful as well I've taken some amazing pics.

Where do I begin, the venue was GREAT!! Had a bday party 7/22/23, for my grandson and 14 of his friends. Purchased the Ultimate 499.00 party package, BIG MISTAKE, when I arrived tables were not decorated, near water so it is a little breezy. Party host was a very nice young woman however, a little overwhelmed Queenie pushed through and got things done. Shout out to Queenie. Back to decorations/party goods very cheesy and not placed on tables well. Pizza arrived early and was cold lastly, beverages were NOT COLD, its July no one wants to drink warm sodas & water. Wanted to being ice and water was told NO,when finalizing party. The ultimate package was NOT so ultimate. My grandson and his friends enjoyed themselves, which was great. If some changes could be made to service and materials used I believe the experience would have been better from my perspective. I hope this review helps others plan their event wisely. Prices for additional beverages are expensive as well.

Wonderful views of downtown Manhattan, Staten Island Ferry, and the Statue of Liberty. Today children and adults were roller skating at the outdoor roller rink to a artful mix of family friendly Top 40 music by a live Deejay. Benches are everywhere if you just choose to relax and take in the sights. Kayaking is available. Basketball courts are packed with ballers, young and old from all walks of life. Zumba classes sponsored by the Dodge YMCA is moving to the beat under the hot sun. What is there not to like?

WHO: party of 8 WHY: Anniversary celebration WHAT: (Deets) Skating. They changed last year's super slippery surface to a (rubber?) perforated square tile cover for better traction. They were quite strict making sure that you sign a waiver before purchasing admission. You are then fitted for wrist guards, which must be work by EVERYONE on the rink at all times. There are even tripods and helpful staff to keep you upright. There is a strict, "no horseplay" policy. The music was current and upbeat, mostly pop from within the most recent 5 years. Al together the crew and I had a good time. Night sky pics with the backdrop of the Brooklyn Bridge sealed the deal. WHEN: 7-9p ish 5/12/17 WHERE: on the rink, at the picnic tables HOW: bike/ public transportation BATHROOM: roomy (multiple stalls, separate gender) WIFI: shrug DRESS CODE: as you like SERVICE: prompt friendly BOTTOM LINE: I will return, probably on the weekly Tuesday eve adult skate nights after Memorial Day. It's a pretty cheap date night as well. $28 bucks...and if you walk over to Pier 1, you can begin/end the night with one of the various foodie options there (Grimaldi's, Shake Shack, River Cafe, Lizzmonade, Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory...) TIP: There's free ($9 savings) entry on Fridays 3-6p, Bring your own skates for the experience to truly be free. Bring quarters for the lockers and disposable socks.

OMG. The walk to get here. Brooklyn marathon pre party by the NYRR. Very good once you get there. You can pick up your bib and shirt here. Get some pointers from coaches about the course. I believe this was the only day it didn't rain.

I roller skated here while I was visiting NYC. There is all kind of sport activities going on with lots of kids around. Looks like this place is really for the community. I love that! I rented roller skates with come with free wrist guards. The skates were in good nick. Normally when you rent skates you're luckily they have all 4 wheels. ha ha. But here is the strange thing was the floors. They weren't concrete but a plastic mesh. It kinda rattled my brain then I got used to it. You don't go as fast on this surface as if it were concrete. I assume it slows kids down and is great for learners. Plus good for when it rains since the rink is open aired. But 5 stars for location! Wow what a view!

What a great space for kids. My youngest tends not to balk at trying something new but actually showed interest in this rink. Admission varies depending on the day but the max is 9 dollars. Skates are 7, either roller blades or roller skates and the skate assist which looks like a triangle walker for 6 if you need it. Wrist guards are required by all skaters and are provided free of charge even if you bring your own skates. The rink itself is padded with blue rubber like tiles so it's not as smooth as freshly placed asphalt but also not as hard if you happen to fall. There is always at least one staff member skating in the rink to guide traffic to make sure no one is skating in opposite direction as well as to give skating tips to newbies. The gentleman that was working that day was so nice and took time out to give both of my kids pointers. The other reason why I like this rink? I can walk next to my kids so I can help them skate instead of trying to balance my butt while going after them. So this is great for parents who don't know how to do the sport themselves to help their kids out. There are plenty of free skate times during the week- we went Friday after noon and it was quite empty. The view can't be beat and the other facilities are worth to check out.

Went to the skating rink, it's really nice and I had a great time. I went to the adult skating time from 8:00 -11:00 with a live d.j. it wasn't too crowded that I couldn't enjoy skating around but just the right amount of people. The views is absolutely beautiful. You can see the brooklyn bridge view by the water. If you want to impress someone on a date take them here. The only reason why it doesn't have 5 stars is becu3of the bathroom. It was absolutely disgusting. Nothing is worse then a nasty bathroom. I was tempted to hold it in but I really had to go.

I came in with a big school group and had the worst experience with the staff. There was one girl that had us waiting in line, when it was finally my turn she got frustrated at the amount of students I was bringing and closed the checkout window on me to look for her manager. After screaming at her manager she walked off complaining. After this we had unpleasant expórtenles with the older ma that was the "ref" in the rink or whatever he was doing. Many of my students could not skate and he was not a friendly presence at all yelling at my students to keep moving. Many didn't even wanna participate after this. Having this staff issue really ruined the field trip experience. The only saving grace was the manager that was pleasant and answered all questions without being rude or condescending which was all I encountered while I was there.

Update: Went today for its reopening event and their wrist guards are so NASTY. Mine smelled crazy bad!! My friend said it smells like food in here so I waved my wrist guard in her face to let her get a whiff of the jerky smell coming from it and she almost puked. The staff supposedly Lysol the guards?? It also gave me a 2 inch cut on my hand. I have no idea how or why but considering that it smelled bad, I'll be very lucky if the cut doesn't get infected. The wrist guards were also falling apart so kind of hard to feel protected when they don't stick well. My friend got a skate with wheels that didn't move. Needless to say, this place needs to update their equipment ASAP before someone gets hurt or someone else gets a cut from a wrist guard... Regardless, I still love the location and low rental rates!

Giving them 2 stars because of the music. Everyone knows that you have, to have good music when roller skating. They played maybe a total of 4 R&B and hip hop songs. The music was geared for an ice skating rink, if you know what I mean. If you're looking to do some serious skating don't waste your time.

Amazing spot just to hang out and have fun there are so many cool things and the view is insane

After I posted my following overall review for the Brooklyn Bridge Park I realized that Yelp segments the park into piers 6, 5 and 2. Piers 6 and 5 are adjacent to each other. I experienced all of the piers. I decided to post this overall review to each of the piers. If you visit one pier I suggest you visit all of them, since they are so close to each other. I recommend starting at Pier 6. Piers 5 and 2 are my favorites, but, be sure to have lunch by the Brooklyn Bridge. I recently met my brothers, sister and brother-in law at Brooklyn Bridge Park on a beautiful Saturday for lunch. I grew up in Park Slope on 11th street so I have many fond memories of Brooklyn. I arrived here by Pier 5 first before noon so I was lucky enough to find metered street parking for only $6 for up to a maximum of 3 hours. As it was this was more than enough time for us to walk the park and have lunch up by the Brooklyn Bridge. I was able to return within the 3 hour time limit with minutes to spare. I latter realized I was lucky to get this parking spot, because I subsequently noticed many people driving around or waiting for the next available parking spot. When the rest of my family arrived after noon they both had to park their cars in the Quik Park parking garage for about $25. They complained about the lack of public parking in this beautiful park. There seems to be space for more public parking so let's hope that will happen so more people can enjoy this park on the East River. We walked down to Pier 6 to start our stroll up along the numerical piers 6 through 2. Pier 6 has a place to eat. Pier 5 also completed adjacent to a field for sports followed by an outdoor picnic area for families. As we walked along the river the magnificent lower Manhattan skyline was my enjoyment. Pier 2 had a long line for Kayakers. The view of the Brooklyn Bridge at this point was impressive. Many of the piers are completed, but, construction is also visible as we walked to and from the Brooklyn Bridge for lunch. Check out my pics of the park, piers and the Brooklyn Bridge.

Beautiful view, however I expected much more from a roller rink in Brooklyn. Saturday night at 9pm should be POPPIN. Lights? Dj?! Shit I'd settled for black lights and glow sticks...

Not horrible. Need better signs with pricing for rentals. As expected more crowded on weekends. Go during week to save money. Look online for skate times. Some are 21 and older so you don't have to deal with little dudes falling all over the rink.

They STILL haven't fixed the messed-up rink surface. In fact, when I went twice in the last week, there were multiple cones in 3 places in the middle of ther rink, and several places with severe warps that probably should have had cones. It's so damn disappointing. And the rink surface floods. That's right. This rink that was built outside, over the water, still has no drainage. I don't understand why this place keeps getting 5 star reviews. Don't people notice the big orange traffic cones all over the rink week after week? The wet surface after rains? Also, the music. It's gotten worse. It was always commercial rap stuff, but most of it was at least slightly danceable. Now it's the autotuned dreck with no danceable beat or groove at all. Roller rinks need dance music, people! Good, bad, whatever, just give us a groove! Damn!

Very good skating rink by the river on pier 2. Kids and grown ups have a relaxing time. Music is clean until 8:00, so kids dance and sing and parents don't have to worry about that. If you have your own skates, the charge to get in is $6 until 3:00 pm or from 3:30 on. Don't pay if you're coming right before 3:00, because everyone has to get out of the rink for maintenance and then you have to pay again at 3:30. Enjoy!

Had my daughters birthday party at the pier. Booked the ultimate kids package which was a little more expensive but well worth it cause it included the souvenir bag with goody bag and water bottle that has their logo. We had guaranteed seating in the back facing the water and city skyline and our own entrance into the roller rink from the back . Soooooo ....well worth the price! We ALL had fun! Paid a little extra and ordered from their menu for the grown ups since pizza is what comes with the package. I ordered the hero sandwiches and platter of fresh mozzarella , tomatoes and roasted peppers . Everyone said that it was delicious! Just wish that the platter came with more peppers.. I asked the place where do they order from because the food comes from outside their premises . They told me that it's from PRONTO PIZZARIA located not to far from the pier. Pizza was ok however the hero and platter was delicious!!! Definitely will be passing by another day and trying out their other food items in the near future. Thanks pier 2 roller rink for having my daughter enjoy her special day.

I came to pier 2 on with a great friend to enjoy a day of skating. Thursdays are a great time to come if you can cause admission is only $1. Skating rentals is $6 which is still cool. I'll have to get my own skates at some point cause my big toe felt like a blister was coming on after we were done. The staff was friendly and attentive. FYI, it's mandatory that you sign a waiver as well as wear wrist guards while skating. Skating was cool although the surface was uneven in some parts and the square tiles made the vibration a bit annoying after awhile. The scenery of the water and the Brooklyn Bridge made up for that though. The only downside was that the bathroom was a bit funky. There cool be more routine cleaning to ensure a more pleasant experience. All in all I had a great time and will return again.

I went to this place with my friends and it's nice and all but it gets boring just rolling around in a circle. They make you wear wrist bands for protection that makes your hand really sweaty. The music is good and the view is AMAZING

Amazing open air garden. Rock garden that also serves as a natural breakwater. Wonderful view of Manhattan Southport and skyline. Lots of seating areas for views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty in the distance. Very clean and welcoming design.

So much fun! Me and a few friends enjoyed a rather hot Sunday at this semi indoor skating rink. The scenery from both Brooklyn Bridge parks many activities going on to the Downtown Manhattan skyline - it was beautiful! If you don't care for kids taking spills all around you, then go for adult night on Sunday's from 8p-11p. The music was neutral, lots of top 100 hits in the background. If you want something to do that's out your normal brunch n chill, check all of Brooklyn Bridge Park's offerings.

I went to Pier 2 Skating Rink as part of our Saturday night activities to celebrate a friend's birthday. I'm sorry to say that our night was cut short by the lack of organization and unsafe practices going on here. Strike 1. We had to wait 20 minutes for a "shift change" at the ticket counter to pay for admission and skate rentals. One of the security guys told my group to wait behind an orange cone so there would be space for the skaters to go back and forth from the locker rooms. We listened and he assured us our group would be first to the counter after shift change. Well that promise did not come through as he allowed another group to go ahead of us and skip the line. When a few of my friends questioned him about it he said that they were part of a birthday party group and they are a priority. My next thought was... am I not a paying customer as well? Shouldn't my group be treated the same? It was my friend's birthday too. He commented that they paid $300 to have their party here at the rink. Well then they should probably have a special booth for these groups if they're that special. .. just saying. Strike 2. You get a waiver to sign at the beginning basically saying that you will abide by the rules of the rink. The night I was there I saw nearly all of them being violated. The most popular one being taking a selfie while roller skating. I found it to be unsafe because most of them weren't looking and nearly skated into other people. Strike 3. Staff members were not enforcing the rules. They saw but didn't care. Strike 4. Little kids skating around were NOT accompanied by their parents. They were falling to my left, to my right and sometimes right in front of me. After skating on and off for about 30 minutes I couldn't take the mayhem. Also a strip of the rink was cut off because of uneven surface and we weren't even skating in a circle. I figured I had my fun and it was time to peace out. The only nice thing about Pier 2 are the skyline views and proximity to restaurants. Other than that I do not recommend.

This past weekend a bunch of friends and I went to roller skate under the Brooklyn Bridge, Pier 2 to be exact! Who would have thunk it, roller skating ...and roller skating while staring at the beautiful skyline that is New York City! Let me start with the bad...the wait on the line was long. For some reason it was not a long line but instead a long wait. Seems odd. BUT once you're on the rink you realize that it's the rink's way of instituting population control. The rink was never packed, the whole thing moved so seamlessly. It's so super cheap...we paid $5 admission and $8 for rentals. If you have your own skates, you only pay the admission. They supply you with wrist guards which are mandatory. The place is full of family and friends. And it even feels like everyone there are your family and friends. I tell you, this was the most polite place in ALL of New York. Sure it was fueled by constant falling, almost falling, omg I think I may have to fall just so I don't run over a child...but everyone was so polite. There were a million "sorry"s and "excuse me"s ...it was amazing. I loved every moment of it! I know it sounds so silly but think about it, you get shoved in and off the train on your way to work in the morning and people just don't care about your or anyone else for that matter...at Pier 2 it was if we all signed an agreement to be human with one another, it was truly a breath of fresh air. Speaking of fresh air, this was an OUTDOOR rink which is even cooler. It's the perfect date night, friends night out or just a night out! You should go...but remember a few things, if you haven't skated in a while know that skating is not like "riding a bike" lol there is a learning curve & bring your socks!!! Enjoy!

I've never been to the Brooklyn Bridge park before but on my 1st visit was pleasantly wowed! ! We decided to stop by since we heard that the new roller rink had opened and gathered up a few of my friends and hit the roller rink. The price was decent as we rented skates on location. If you bring your own you obviously don't pay the rent fee. Rink is rather small with alot of little kids. That would be my only pet - peeve. There is also a huge basketball court and handball court for additional recreation. Overall a great time! Although I was beat down sore the next day we have plans to come back soon!

This is without a doubt, one of the most awesome basketball courts I've ever played at. The view is second to none. The best thing is that there are tons of games going on at almost any time, with a wide variety of skill levels. I will definitely be coming back here to play often. Note there are also a lot of cool other things on Pier 2, such as Bocce ball, a kid's playground, roller rink, kayaking and handball.

It was good.... I went there yesterday and I was a staff with the community center with the kids ....the kids was kinda bad and stuff but we got though it and also it was a very far walk because we took the bus and train and then we walk like 8 blocks or more. It was exhausting!.. Anyway the skating was good too I fell like 15 times because I couldn't skate lol...it was a fun day....just to tell you about the skates I got a 7 but I needed an 8 but maybe because I did open the shoe laces more but just to tell everybody... get a bigger size and have fun and the walker things is 6:00$..crazy right??..I know -_- now just for kids..so kids got hurt alittle just make sure the kids be safe.

Went today for a birthday party... and i can not say enough good things anout the staff.. security guards, party host, and by far the sweetest man( wearing a black and white stripe shirt).. my daughters friend fell and got hurt and he stayed with her until i could get to her, walked us off the rink and made sure no one bumped into her and then got us an ice pack... i couldnt thank him enough!! The rink itself is pretty big.. no dure of cost bc we were there for a party but seems super inexpensive... ill def be back!!!

I love coming here to roller skate! Roller skating really brings out the inner child in me, although I will admit I'm really bad at it. The skating here is affordable and fun. I would definitely add it on to a list of things to do in NYC (especially because of the view you get too!) On another note, there are a ton of other activities to do at Pier 2 as well like kayaking and playing basketball on the courts they have. There is also a pretty large section of turf set up where people play basketball or just lounge around. It's all under a roof so you don't have to bake under the sun. If all else fails, you can always just sit on the benches and take in the awesome city skyline!

I had fun at "Caribbean Night Skate Party " ! At Pier 2... Nice weather, GOoD vibes and nice scenery!

The view is so beautiful and its in a great location. But staff is rude as hell and seemed to not care about anything. Also the inside needs renovation cause it looks pretty outdated. other than that i had alot of fun here and the rentals are super cheap! would come back next summer

Brooklyn Bridge Park just got a whole lot more awesome, unfortunately it also means it's a lot more popular and packed with people during those prime sunny summer days. What I'm referring to is the recently opened Pier 2 in the ever expanding Brooklyn Bridge Park. It's an activities mecca on the east river under the cover of an ultra tall tin roof. There's no admission or sign ups to come and enjoy the pier which features handball/racketball, basketball, bocce, shuffle board, a turf field, roller skating (assuming this will change to ice skating in the winter), a play ground, and a number of tables and benches to take in the beautiful view. If you want to borrow bocce balls or shuffle board equipment it's currently free, you just have to give the people at the skating rink skate rental building your ID. Their are two bocce courts which are quite large and well designed. I wished I could say the same about shuffleboard. They just painted the court on the concrete. When I came I was the first to use the equipment, unpacked the cardboard box from Amazon and everything. I don't think they realized how horrible the disks would slide on this material and how when you're standing on the east side of the court the glare from the lights would obscure the view of the opposite side of the court, hopefully this gets fixed with a few more layers of glaze on the concrete and moving the light. My girlfriend came again on a later date and the same building said they weren't the right people to talk to about the shuffleboard equipment and couldn't help her out. Clearly there are kinks to work out here. The roller skating is the only thing on the pier that costs money but the cost is very reasonable (for both the admission and skate rentals). They have a schedule available on site where you can even come during 21+ times and free times. Music keeps things entertaining and at this point it's just Top 40 stuff but the schedule looks like they've left the possibility of different themed sessions in the future. Unfortunately there's no alcohol allowed on the pier and there's a police presence to make sure there's no funny business going on. During the summer however there is a little beach beer garden right across the path beside the little pop-up pool. It was amazing seeing so many people of all ages and backgrounds from the community coming together at the pier this weekend. I feel so lucky this is only a few blocks from me and I feel as though it's such a great addition to the park. I just hope it doesn't get more popular than it already is and that we all take care of the park to ensure it stays in such beautiful shape.

I went with my friends for skate night and when we first arrived we had to get these wrist gloves that smelled like FEET!!! They put lysol on them but lysol does but so much! It didn't help at all. They need to wash the gloves. Its not sanitary! Then as we are skating there are cracks on the floor. If u go please have your own skates and gloves

I love playing handball at the Brooklyn Bridge Pier 2 Park. Although I wish the color of the walls were different, it's beautiful here. I love the ambiance and I love the view. The park itself is amazing, if you walk further down, there are more piers where you will find a soccer field, volleyball, basketball, and further down is one of my favorite ice cream shops, Ample Hills. Smorgasburg also takes place here but at Pier 6 on Sundays, you must try this at least once! Must visit this landmark, truly beautiful, New York skyline can be seen!!!

I went roller skating at the rink and it was a great time. I like the fact that it's outdoors too. Only minor thing is that I got pulled off the floor for not having an admission band and wearing wrist guards and I was accused of not paying by a ref until I showed my receipt. Another woman working there apologized and got me a wrist band but the ref who accused me never apologized which I thought was rude but I was there to have a good time so I just got back on the floor and kept enjoying myself. Other than that it was a fun experience and I had a good time. Also the rink floor isn't traditional flooring, it's like a jagged rubber floor which is probably to stop people from going too fast and hurting themselves. I have my own skates that I put softer wheels on when indoor skating and the flooring completely ripped them up...so just be cautious if you bring your own skates that you keep your hard wheels in. It's a really fun experience and is only open in the summer until Columbus day in Oct so get it in while you can.
