Really nice place to eat the food was really good great service if you eat on the patio watch out for the birds they are really aggressive and can’t wait until you leave your plate unattended

American Pontiac Association hosted a car show at this location, and it was a great time! Lots of history, boat rides, Offshore Oil Museum and great restaurants in the area as well.

Pier 21 is such an amazing stop before you get on a ship! The views are amazing. The walk is serene! Overall, it would be a great place to stop by during your travels. Here are a few pictures!

Nice place but always visit with planning and early. Parking is a huge issue and getting boats at festivals is a major bummer. Waiting can go easily beyond 1 hour … need to have a better crowd management… otherwise worth a watch for Texas

We decided to explore and discover a new area of Galveston that we had never visited before. This area was lovely to walk through even on a rainy day. The view across the water is gorgeous, and the area with fishing boats was so cute to see. We also saw a large wooden ship that looked like an old pirate ship and many interesting things to look at. There are lots of restaurants in the area as well and close to the historic strand area. I will share some pictures here as well highly recommended for all ages.

The views it’s amazing but for ăn upscale restaurants they can’t even give a free bday cake celebration. We spend $220 there for a party of 5 and the waitress told us we have to order a cake for them to sing á bday celebration for My mom . 😒

We visited the 1877 Tall Ship Elissa and got a bonus of seeing the Gunilla which was in Port. We talked to a couple of the Elissa crew who just graduated from school and would be a part of her crew that will take her out to sea. The Gunilla has students from Sweden learning how to sail the open ocean. The group that was on board was heading back to Florida on Monday and then home as a new group of students was coming out to take over. It was very interesting to see the ships being maintained and in complete working order.

Pier 21 offers several attractions, three restaurant options and a nice walkable waterfront area. It is two blocks north of the Strand; neighbors the original Cruise Terminal (easily accessible from the RC cruise terminal). And don't forget to visit the Elisa. Relax and watch the sunset, or just enjoy viewing the boats and barges that go by.....

Pier 21 is a waterfront entertainment and dining area located on Galveston's historic harbor in The Historic Strand Seaport Area. This place offers a variety of attractions, restaurants, and lodging at the pier's exclusive hotel and marina, Harbor House Hotel and Marina. The Harbor House Hotel & Marina at Pier 21 is a very unique place to stay since it is Galveston's only hotel with a bay front position. When you stay here, you'll have access to superbly designed rooms, stunning views of the harbor, and a prominent location only a step from the Strand Historic District. Among the numerous family-friendly activities within walking distance of the hotel are the Texas Seaport Museum, the 1877 Tall Ship Elissa, BayWatch Dolphin Tours, and the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig & Museum. Some of the greatest shopping, seafood eating, and other attractions are also nearby. Even if you visit Galveston and decide to do none of these things, the view while standing on the pier is really something to see especially at sunset.

We walked around Pier 21 after enjoying a meal on the patio at Katie's Seafood that looks out in the water. There was a tall sailing ship docked there, Elissa, and it was fun to enjoy a beautiful sunset as people were walking around.

Such a great place to watch the sunset!! There aren't many seating areas so I would recommend bringing a blanket or lawn chairs. We watched the sunset here twice. There is cheap parking nearby either parking lots or street parking. There are a handful of restaurants with large patios. You can take dolphin and sunset tours (go see my review Galveston Water Adventures).

My son and I stayed here and it's so breathtaking... beautiful side of Galveston,Texas will surely be staying here again

Enjoyable way to spend time, walking the pier, enjoying the breeze in the bay, off of the water.

So I'm hoping I'm reviewing the right place. I know on pier 21 there are several things. My review is on the sunset tour. It was two hours long and it was the best time we have had since we have been here. If your here or plan on coming here this is a must with your spouse! It's 18 and older. BYOB. There is a bathroom on the boat. Just loads of fun. Music and everyone enjoying the company of everyone else and having a few drinks. I would definitely go again!

This was a really nice place to walk and review some old history about Galveston and the oil companies that have used this area for years to build popularity. I went to the museum and this beautiful little restaurant on the pier. It's also very close to the cruise port so it gets really busy on cruise days. They have a little boat that you can take dolphin watching tours on for a reasonable price.

My dad and I came down from Houston, really excited to check it out. We go on to get our tickets and they said $12.00 each! I told them that the website said it was $6.00. They said we had to buy a ticket to tour a boat as well. My Dad is 91. Clearly not able to tour a boat. They said too bad it's all or nothing. We left..disappointed.

This theater is great and I can honestly say that The Great Storm movie is one of my favorite things to do on The Island. Its one of stops when we have guests visting with us for the weekend It seem that almost evertime I watch this short but informative movie I get something new out of it...which has been at least 6 times. Its amazing the hardships that the early Galvestions endured with this horrible event. The movie can even bring a tear to your eye. I have seen the LaFeat show as well and it too is informative and interesting but I prefer The Great Storm. But hey...why not watch them both?

The hotel is very nice. Rustic antique ish on the outside but the rooms are very spacious and clean. Front desk staff very nice and friendly. The only downside is the continental breakfast. Not too appealing. Very basic. Wish they could add more and better quality selection of breakfast foods. Million dollar question? Would I stay here again? 100% YES I would.

Good movies, Very interesting. Plays two separate shows, one about a pirate (18mins) that shows every hour on the half hour and a show about the great storm of 1900 (27mins) that runs every hour on the hour.

The two films were extremely interesting and encouraged my couriosity to delve more into Galveston's history. I was astonished as the similarity of the paths of the hurricaines of The Great Storm and Hurricaine Ike of 2008. Wow! Jean Laffite is an interesting privateer and I enjoyed the film immensely! The only thing that could have improved it was some museum artifacts to view while waiting for the show to start.

Waited 10 mins for someone to show up at the ticket counter....walked around found no one so we just left...so disappointing...was recommended by the museum next door

Conveniently located at Pier 21 right on Harborside drive (next to Fisherman's Wharf and Joe's Crab Shack). Well maintained facility, clean, straightforward directions for each film playing -- The Great Storm ($5) and Pirate Jean Lafitte ($4). Takes credit cards, cash, or in some cases checks. Was surprised that there's no discount offered for AAA. Also, I had a $1 off coupon but left it in hotel and they did not honor even though they were aware of the coupon. Front desk attendant was polite and professional and efficient. Answered several patrons' questions quickly and fully. Limited lobby seating available. The Great Storm film lasts for 27minutes, and shows start at the top and middle of every hour. Last show begins at 5pm. Cozy films room seats about 50-60. Very, very informative and sobering film about Galveston's history. We left with a greater appreciation for Galveston as a major port, and rich history of determination. Also, we were impressed by the feat of engineering that is the Seawall and grade increase of the city.
